A very charming and well designed hotel, respecting the original building, a convent. Nestled in a very nice location overlooking the pretty village of Maratea and the beautiful green surrounding area. The staff were very kind & professional and sincerely warm to us & other guests. The hotel is also a very good base for exploring inland and the beautiful dramatic and still unspoilt coastline.

The novelty of staying in a converted monastery; the great variety in the decor; the wonderful view over Maratea from our bedroom window; the friendly staff

I loved the location, right under the Christ the Redeemer statue. The view from our room was fantastic. The pool and lounge area was sophisticated and cozy at the same time. The staff was superb and Loredana the proprietor was the best! That it's so far away from where I live!

Over priced. The reviews were totally misleading. The breakfast was poor and the property had no character - if it was a convent before there are no remaining features

Very quaint and picturesque location built into the side of the mountain in a beautiful little village. The dining area was quite pretty as was the pool area. Bathrooms very nicely appointed and attractive. The staff was helpful and gracious. Internet service was good and free. It was hard to find, though that is part of the charm. Our room was so small that we had to put one suitcase under the bed the whole time. Lighting in the room was awful..you couldn't possibly lie in bed and read but there was no room in the room to do anything but lie in bed. There was no public sitting area in the hotel where you could relax. Hotel restaurant was very expensive. Only one restaurant open in town which, fortunately, turned out to be a fabulous little pizzeria.

Beautiful location - very quiet but within 10min stroll through the historic and atmospheric alleyways to the town centre. Fantastic views from the pool area across valley. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Maratea itself is not large but has a good selection of restaurants etc. Also only about 10 minutes drive from beach clubs. Highly recommended.

Beautiful old building sympathetically converted. Staff were lovely the hotel is a very short walk to the village and has protected parking. The restaurant is excellent but the menu doesn't change often enough.

The swimming pool is nice to relax. The styling of the hotel is nicely done and well executed. The breakfast buffet is plentyfull. The village is not really interesting and the surroundings are very hilly making trafic a challenge. Parking is available, but the parking lots are narrow. The lunch & dinner are overpriced and dining opportunities in the village are modest.

This is a fantastic family run hotel with Service with a capital S. The location is superb! Although we were very close we could not find the hotel. The hotel sign could be bigger so that it is easier to find the hotel.

We loved the swimming pool and the view of the mountains. The fact it was previously a convent was nice. The air conditioning was very poor, it took a long time to resolve this with the management.

There is something classy about this hotel. From the art and design of the interior to the excellent service and attention to detail. The superior double room was basic but good enough and the restaurant was again good enough but these niggles in no way detract from the overall experience of staying there. I would definitely go back there if I was in the area.

This hotel is the perfect location, close to Rome yet a world away when you are within the wall to relax Staff are extremly friendly and are very attentive without compromising your privacy. We were travelling with my 74 yearold father who enjoyed the gardens while we shopped during the day and the staff made him feel very relaxed. Many thanks guys, we will be back. When in Rome be sure to stay at Lalocanda, its perfect. 8 Euro cab ride to shopping district No tea or coffee making facilities in the room

Overlooking the town and surrounded by hills, the hotel provided good views and access to local amenities. Unfortunate ringing of clock bells that sound both the hour and every quarter hour all day and night - earplugs should be provided! Confusing parking arrangement which is not made clear on advertisement. Hotel is on a one-way road system and hotel sign is not immediately recognizable making it easy to go past and repeat the circuit of about 2km.

Great location, fantastic views from the pool and bedroom. Seating area outside the restaurant was lovely. The room we had was small but comfortable. Great service having a staff member organising your car as getting into Maratea town can be tricky. Staff followed you around too much and not consistent in friendliness and helpfulness. A little dismissive at times. We did really like the restaurant that much especially as the front desk rated it the best in town. Food was okay. Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing.

Really beautiful location and property. We had an evening meal which was lovely and very reasonable. We were 2 couples travelling with a young baby and one of the rooms had air conditioning but the other didn't and was a little warm overnight. The view from the infinity pool is incredible!

A charming hotel: lovely decor which respected the history of this former convent whilst enhancing it with lovely pieces of art and decoration. The hotel owners were charming; very attentive and keen to ensure our stay was a memorable one. Although only staying one night we were upgraded. Our room was exceptionally clean, the bed was comfortable, good linen and we had plenty of towels. After a long journey it was bliss to slip into the hotel’s lovely pool. The town is an easy stroll down some steps where it is great to soak up the ambience of the historic and unhurried town. We took our evening meal in the hotel and it was excellent – top quality regional cuisine looking out into the lovely garden.

We were made to feel very welcome, and all the staff were extremely helpful. The setting of the hotel, overlooking the old town, is wonderful. The restaurant is first class. The pool area is a great place to relax in between sight seeing. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we visit Maratea. We stayed in a Classic room (which is the standard room). It was small, with just enough room to move around the bed. It had a great view over the old town, though. Some of the other rooms were more spacious but without the views.

Niets
