Hotel La Margherita  

A very good hotel, nice staff. Breakfast on the hotel roof, lovely view. Perfect situation near "old town".

It's been second time that we stayed in this hotel. We love the central location and friendly atmosphere. True, the rooms might be on the small side, but overall cannot complain at all! Clean towels every day, good hot water when needed, comfortable bed and modern bathroom - we'll stay there again next year.

Breakfast could have been a little more varied (for people who don't like pastries...)

Great location and met all our needs. Breakfast bar provided good choices and food was fresh. Staff was friendly and able to answer all our questions. Room clean and well maintained. Had elevator up to our room.

Parking was difficult and we had to drive around to find a parking space, then had to look for the parking attendant to pay. Primary reason for choosing this hotel was the roof-top terrace, then it was closed for the season. Short hours for the spa (closed at 2100). If we are out walking all day, it would have been nice to relax in the spa later. Street noise was disturbing, mostly because of a bar close to the hotel.

The coffee machine was too little, can only make 1 cop a time, and it took too long time to make, always 4-5 people was waiting.

Very nice spa area, nearly refurbished. Pleasant breakfast location on the roof. Good central location. Free onstreet parking outside the door.

Rooftop terrace terribly dated. The astraturf grass is about 30 years old. The "gym" comprises of 2 old excercise bikes.

It is well located for the old town of Alghero. We also paid a little extra for a balcony and view, which added to the experience. Having breakfast on the roof terrace with views all around was a lovely start to the day.

Whilst Broadband is available throughout the hotel the signal is not strong. They do not accept Travellers' Cheques.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel La Margherita as the location to Old Town was excellent, It had a rooftop sun terrace and and a beautiful rooftop breakfast terrace where the view was fab, the breakfast was decent enough as continental breakfasts go, the staff were extremely informative and helpful and my room was spotless clean, the fridge in the room was great to have as you can bring a travel kettle and put your drinks in it to cool, the air con was a blessing as it was so hot during the day and night, i didnt use the downstairs indoor pool but i had a look and it was very nice, the free area advertised for the beach is a good 15 min walk away in front of the san marco hotel but its a nice walk along the promenade. you will need your mosi plugs as theres quiet alot of mosi's around at night, they have shutters but it doesnt keep them out

The only things i did'nt like abou the hotel was that the hairdryer hose was torn so i could'nt use it in room 130 and there was only one channel on the tv and it was italian, the Bday had a crack in it so there was a few things that needed fixing but however i still enjoyed my stay there and the nice location and friendly staff made up for any small things that were wrong in the room

Nice staff, nice spa, pretty view from the breakfast terrace. Great location if you're a city crawler, not so convenient for beach people (I strongly recomment renting a bicycle - buses come rarely). Very close to supermarket.

Walls were a bit too thin (noise from other floors), the room service changes towels too often (not really an environmentally friendly hotel).

Excellent location, 5 minutes away from the old town. The young woman at the reception was very friendly. We didn't have a chance to use the spa as we only stayed one night. The room is pretty ordinary, not the most comfortable mattress but it did the job. Nice roof terrace, perhaps the best thing of the breakfast.

Excellent location and the hotel is good value for money, just don't go expecting anything too lavish. The indoor pool and spa is where they seem to have spent the most money. The breakfast is basic but adequate.
