Goergio and Elizabeth are wonderful hosts. Of the many places we stayed, Elizabeth's breakfasts were the best by a long long way. It was a good base for our planned visits to Lucca and Pisa (we went in our hire car) and by train to Florence and Cinque Terra after parking at a nearby station. Great to stay in an historical setting with furnishings to suit. Had a large room and our own bathroom.
All was very good. There are a few stairs and ramps up to the house. However this delivers the wonderful outlooks over the surrounding rural landscape from the patios or rooms. Great stay thank you Georgio and Elizabeth.
breakfast is better than you ever can expect, it's just great! the owner of the hotel is very kind, and always ready to help. the living room and the garden is very cosy and beautiful and make you really relaxed.
the location of the hotel is a bit difficult to find via GPS navigation. it's highly recommended that you contact with the hotel after you arrive at the town.
Sorry for doing this review so late. All the previous reviews are very very true. It is not just the best accommodations during this 30days trip. It no doubt the best B&B I have ever had. Giorgio's house is around ten mins from Lucca and 30mins from Pisa. We stay two nights there for even one late night Puccini Opera Festival in Torre del Largo. The House is at the perfect location for our plan. It is a very attractive house on the hill and with beautiful garden and terrace where you can see very far... We have to share toilet and shower but it is not a problem at all. The breakfast is truly the best we have during the whole trip. It is not buffet but I reckon it is better than five star hotel in a way. They even provide bags and so on to let us pack those we can not finish. We were very greedy. The homemade pies and cakes are too good to take them away for lunch and snack. It is really a homelike accommodation which meets all the needs and even more than you expected. Do not take it just a "bed" for sleep. Spend some relaxed time in the garden or terrace in the afternoon or morning. It is a small resort rather than a B&B. Endless wonderful memories there. I will definitely return and recommand it. Value for money. Thank you Giorgio and Elisa made our trip.
We departed with the hope to go back to La Pieve Di Sant'Andrea again. The rooms, the house in general, the owners were all just perfect... May be even more than perfect! The lovely family members were soooo considerate. We will never forget their kindness.
It is very hard to leave the place and the lovely family :)
nice house, quite place
The family running the hotel are more than friendly, open, helpful & caring than you could ever imagine. From the first hello to the (so far) latest goodbye we enjoyed everything. The breakfast is served with self made cakes and quiche & in the nights - whatever we came home - the host was waiting for us with a bottle of limoncello to make sure we have a good night sleep. Rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely furnitured, bathrooms not directly in the room but not far away & very clean. Highly recommended!
Very hospitality ans politely attitude from the owners. Perfect breakfast.
What a wonderful treat to stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Perfectly kept- clean, fresh and lovely! The tour of the monestary was something our family will always remember- and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Thank you for a perfect end to our week- wouldn't have been complete without it!
George and Elisabetta are delightful. The accommodation is super clean and comfortable. The views are lovely too although you are near the freeway and thus can hear the traffic in the background. The highlight though is the astonishing breakfast, it is remarkable!
The food was lovely, and the staff attentive. The old church was very interesting.
The smell of cigarette smoke wafting from the staff quarters, and the strong air fresheners used to disguise it. Also the noise from the road - as we had to have the windows open due to the warm weather and the heavy air freshener smell.
George and Elisabetta were charming. The breakfast was sensational.
The best B&B we have ever stayed in. The owners are the most loveliest people, the gardens & view are stunning, the atmosphere is so peaceful & welcoming, the antique furniture & Italian decor is out of this world, the breakfast is absolutely amazing (especially the freshly made Apple Pie & Quiche), you will struggle to find a better breakfast and the price is unbelievable. They even give you takeaway plates, foil & plastic food bags to make your own packed lunch with the food you didn't manage (which will be lots!!). Please try this place if you like quality customer service, good food & love the traditional Italian culture. Oh & by the way, its 10 mins & 1 straight road in to the beautiful city of Lucca. Fantastic.
Nothing in particular.
The friendliness of the proprietor and the ambiance were srong points. This is a lovely home stay in an historic abbey very close to the wonderful city of Lucca. Lucca seems to be a bit off the regular tourist circuit and has great appeal.
I was worried about the autostrada in the far distance but it turned out not to be an issue and the evenings and nights were peaceful and quiet.
Blown away by the kindness and hospitality of our hosts. The meals were out of this world! We requeste a special anniversary dinner and were extremely pleased. HIGHLY recommended B&B. Hope to visit again and bring the whole family next time.
Bathroom wasn't attached, but only a mere inconvenience. The huge tub and French toiletries made up for this.
Lovely people, lovely location, great stay!
The breakfast was AMAZING! Homemade every morning; delicious fresh peach slices with a chocolate bottom was my favorite No need to pack a lunch - the breakfast is big enough to last all day! We had a large, private bathroom with a large tub - great for soaking in after a long day or walking. Very friendly family, beautiful surroundings, and a large room with a great view.
This Place is a gem. Fantastic view of the valley. Extremely friendly and hospitable host Family. Nice rooms With view. Very good home-made dinner based on local ingredients. A stay here is like staying at Your best friends'.
