Location by one of city gates into hill town of Erice (none of q3 categories really apply). Convenient location on the edge of town but one way system makes it hard to see good route for getting there! Free parking. Views over plain to sea. Extensive wooded grounds, quiet and seclued atmosphere - all a bit wild and slightly neglected which may appeal to some more than others. Chalets are getting a bit run down and would be in interest of owners to redecorate them a bit. Grounds also a bit neglected although this adds to the character of the place. Instructions for getting there could be clearer as satnav takes you through some narrow town streets which I am sure are avoidable.

Beautiful location in mountains. Great view. Close to town center -- less than 10 minute walk. Parking is available; otherwise, parking nearby is possible. Food in the restaurant was surprisingly good. Was a bit tricky to find at night because of the fog and narrow mountain roads. The rooms are actually cottages so they are not quite as nicely renovated as a hotel room -- but they are comfortable and for one night it was perfectly fine.

The location and the parking spot were great: close to the old city centre and private parking. Breakfast was average. The room we got was dark and didn’t have any windows, plus it was freezing cold. We used the portable heater from the bathroom to heat up the bedroom. On this kind of location (on top of a mountain), you’d at least expect to have a window in the room.

Beautiful location, easy to find and get to. The atmosphere is incredible, great service, all the amenities were right on site including a nice dinner after traveling all night. Would stay here again. As is typical with Italian hotels, the beds were a bit firm for my taste, but that is the norm in Italy. We were traveling with a family member that struggled with steps. There can be some climbing. Each room is terraced at different locations on the property which is incredible but can be a struggle for somebody with disabilities. No complaints though.

Amazing place with a view. Lots of stairs! Best castles and city in Sicily!! Wonderful paths to explore, amazing view, lovely people!! You are living in a medival city in the clouds what is not to love about that!! Mountain drive is switch backs but so breath taking. Amazing paths to explore and wonderful for kids to play in the lovely outdoors. Restuarunts everywhere, pizza is amazing!! It is a must see diamond in the rough. Your cabin is a one room hotel with a small fridge and shower. But you won't stay inside there as there is so much exploring to do!! Love love this place, It is the only place that sleeps 4. You are a gondula away from going to trapini for a day stroll on the water front. Take the bus number 21 to the city center only 1 euro!! Amazing food down there and a whole street blocked off for shopping etc. ON way back to Palermo stop off in Segista as it is on the way ...wonderful greek temple and ampitheater! happy travels everyone!!

Location and views Worst breakfasts of our entire 2-week stay in Sicily. Poor bathroom with a shower so small you could damage yourself getting in and out of it.

La Pineta is an excellent place to stay if you visit the amazing mountain town of Erice. It is a unique hotel because the rooms are in individual cottages conforming to the hilly terrain. It is very close to the center of town, and there is free parking. They have a good restaurant for dinner and the free breakfast was very good. In good weather there is a terrace and one has a magnificent view of the valley below. I highly recommend visiting Erice and staying at La Pineta.

Suroundings and stillness. The highlight was when we left our passport behind at reception and were 60/70 kilometers away when we realised. We rang the hotel and they were very helpful. Our passports were awaiting for us that evening at our next stop. We heard they sent someone by car to drive our passports to Agrigento. We were very impressed with the service. Was disappointed by the evening meal. Had booked for dinner after reading other guests reviews.

We loved the location and views from our terrace. The breakfast was great and parking convenient. Erice is a charming city and we loved wandering the streets and sampling the various cuisines available. It was scary driving up the mountain!

Very helpful reception staff & handy location as it's difficult to stay in Erice. Superb views from the bar & restaurant terrace. Very easy to walk into Erice. Practical rather than somewhere you would want to hang out. Our balcony was untidy, full of leaves, broken table and an overflowing ash tray. It wasn't very busy in September but the over-all appearance of the grounds gave a feeling of being a bit run-down & neglected. Maybe it's all the tree's in the grounds but it's very dark and a small swimming pool would be a fantastic addition.

Location of the hotel is perfect: a quiet area on the slope of the mountain with a beautiful view and very near to the old town at the same time. Parking is available nearby. Breakfast was very tasty and abundant.

The rooms were all detached, with their own terraces. The rooms were a reasonable size. Being on the edge of the town the hotel had it's own parking. The site is built on a hill, with lots of steps; not a problem for us, but would not be suitable for wheelchair users.

The view is fantastic. Very quit location. Quality of the breakfast was much below average and what to expect. The coffee was made out of tap water (not drinkeable with a bad smell). Also avoid the restaurant for dinner. Much, much better alternatives up in town. Public open areas will do with a little cleaning up.

Incredible view from top of mountain right outside our window. Very nice and well maintained grounds. Parking just in front of our room, although maybe not enough if parking on-site if more people had been staying there. Quiet and serene setting. Private patio with lounge chairs were a great touch--wish it had been warm enough to enjoy a book or a cup of coffee out there! Room decor was plain, almost sterile, but room was clean and building itself had character. Dining staff went above and beyond when we showed up just befor closing asking if they had any dessert we could take back to our room. Dessert and breakfast were both good. Room could have felt a little more cozy.
