Nice and small private hotel in the middle of Venice. Very cosy and hospitable, nice atmosphere of a building 14th century. Good choice!
Both the breakfast area and the suite were stunning. The place has been renovated combining ancient and modern arts in the spirit of a true Venetian merchant collector. A great base for the Biennale.
Everyone was so helpful with directions and suggestions as to what to see and do
Enjoyed it all!
Excellent information, decor and tasty breakfast
Living in a real "palazzo", feeling like being at home, very large room with great bed, perfect location... we loved it!
Beautiful place in fantastic location, easy walk to either busy streets or quieter ones. Owner is nice and full of good advices and very helpful.
The apartment was beautiful. The decor was perfect, the room was big and clean. Breakfast was very good. We wished we had arranged to stay for longer.
We loved the location and the historical character of the building and the furniture. The owner was very helpful and hospitable!
Unfortunately due to the age of the building, the window panes, the floor and ceilling would rattle / creak at night - which made it quite noisy...
Location is a bit far from the center and not enough light in the room (Indian style)
Very welcoming of guests into their home. Beautiful rooms and surroundings. Cinza and Nicoletta were very informative of best things to see/ transport etc. service was excellent very clean not a bad word to say we will certainly return when we next visit Venice.
Beautiful house, tastefully furnished. Large bedroom with a/c
Finding it. Venice is a nightmare. Used a private water taxi which picked us up yards from the hotel to take us to the cruise terminal. No hassle!!
The building is too old it can be a museum thana hotel. It has a long stairs it looks like gost house from otside and entrance. The entrance smile is bad. No tv. There is one lady only doing every thing. Shr weares a short dress. We found small scorbio in one of our two rooms. I recommend no body tostay there. The location is far away from the port. Wr could hardly reach it. Wr hired a guide to take us rhere. We paid him 20 €. We hired a porter to carry our bags to the port. We paid him 20 €. You can say it is rabbish. Wr paid money for rabbish.
My husband and I stayed at La Porta D'Oriente for 2 nights in June. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Cinzia especially helped us with local restaurant and bar recommendations for good food away from tourist traps. The location was excellent, walking distance to most major places. The room was clean and comfortable, but basic. The breakfast each morning was nice, typical Italian with meats, cheese, breads, yoghurts, fruit, pastries and fresh coffee and juices. The building was beautiful and accessed via a cute bridge, exactly how we imagined staying in Venice. We found the B&B fairly good value considering the location and cleanliness.
The room was quite dark (Zen Room), but we didn't spend too much time in the room so it didn't really matter.
good location, beautiful apartment, nice breakfast
no tv in room
It is not hotel, it is private apartment. Old furniture and old smell in the rooms. We waited to see something better(
Very friendly staff! The location is optimal and I loved the view from the dining room.
Wonderful location, right on a square. Close to everything. Staff was super. Would definetly stay there again.
Nicoletta is just superb - outstanding customer service.
Some maintenance required for the shower and the sink.
This place was gorgeous! Our room (Zen) was nicely decorated and had a bar fridge. Great breakfast. We liked sitting on the little balcony that overlooked the square.
We liked everything.
A beautiful place to enjoy the delights of Venice. Wonderful hospitality from Cynthia.
friendly and helpful staff. great restuarant suggestions for wonderful meals away from the crowds. breafast was plentiful and delicious. would definately return
Great little B&B. Cinzia was lovely, very warm and welcoming. Breakfast was very nice. Great coffee and cake.
Water pressure a bit low.
Loved it!! Perfect location, lovely room, beautiful building, excellent breakfast. Cinzia was awesome and makes the best cappuccino:).
Location and very friendly hostesses, very good advice on restaurants. the highlight was as we need to leave early on sunday, a trolley of breakfast was organised for us a night before, so that we could eat in our room early in the morning. it was great.
