Property owner could not have been nicer, made sure we knew how to navigate about Rome using the public transport, nothing was too much trouble, perfect stay.
Not much, breakfast could be better, even a drop of milk for morning tea or coffee would be nice, but easy enough to stick a pint in the fridge yourself, really am nitpicking.
The host was most welcoming. The location was fantastic being near a public tram hub which radiates through Rome. The room was perfectly neat and tidy. Excellent beds for a great nights sleep. Excellent value for money.
The only fault if you could call it one, was that there is no lift so we had to carry heavy bags up a series of steps to the room.
Location: It was 20 min. walk from termini station and 5 mins from porta maggiore metro station. The owner-despite her little knowledge of English was helpful and kind. The bathroom was brand new and very clean.
The breakfast was disappointing as it consisted of cheap pastries and instant coffee/tea, unfortunately no fresh bread/butter, milk or fruit. Also, the street was noisy at night but that's usual when you are in a very central area. The area itself is a bit dodgy at night, you must be extra careful.
It doesn't matter if the owner is friendly and the room is clean if you can't sleep on the hard bed in your basement room, surrounded by screeching trams, cars, sirens, and trains in a neighbourhood with ancient prostitutes and shady guys hanging around that's pretty far from anywhere you're likely to want to be.
+ cleaness + staff
- breakfast (vacuum-packed food)
Convenient connection to Termini. Room was spacious and modernized. Friendly, helpful staff.
Wifi connection spotty. Breakfast was packaged rolls & biscuits, instant coffee.
I love the location the owners are extremely nice and helpful very clean comfort sound proof windows AC strong Wifi in most room
my room was in the basement and windows had no privacy people walking in the street could see right into my bed no wifi connection in this room
Loved our hostess, Margherita who couldn't do enough for us and was so kind and welcoming. We booked 2 rooms - both were spotless and contained everything we needed. Location was great with tram and bus stop around the corner and the metro a 10 minute walk.
On a busy road, but both rooms had shutters which did a great job of keeping out the traffic noise.
Loved how helpful the owner was how clean the place is and great location minitues walking from termni
Breakfast not good Just cakes and that's it but still great place I would go again
Margarita was very helpful with our stay. She helped us book our cab back to the airport, gave us the entire customized sight seeing itinerary based on the time we had and even paid our parking ticket fee that we received. Its more of an apartment than a hotel. Would definitely return whenever back in Rome.
No lift which means we had to carry our luggage up and down...and we had a lot of it. But Margarita helped us carry!
Margherita was very welcoming and helpful. She gave us lots of helpful information and recommended the method of travel. Location was good. Room was always clean.
Margarita was very good with informing her guest regarding trains, buses, trams and restaurants and so on. Also gave us information regarding the metro 3 day passes for money, great value.
Quite big room with very big and confortable bathroom. Good location close to tram, train and bus to everywhere in Rome. So helpfully staff:-)
Very noisy neighborhood, because of traffic from street.
Margherita was an excellent host, very welcoming and helpful. She showed us all of the local public transport links to the major sites and recommended the method of travel. Always very friendly and happy to see us. Location was also good as it was a short walk from the major station and as mentioned has good transport links to the major sites.
Have to be picky to find drawbacks but the breakfast included wasn't up to much - just a few pastries. Depending on the room it could be noisy as it is next to a busy junction, although we were warned of this on arrival.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location within easy reach of Ancient Rome. Several nice restaurants within walking distance. Room was adequate with small fridge.
Bed was very hard with only 1 pillow each. Breakfast consisted of prepackaged sweet rolls in the room and a kettle to make tea or coffee but no milk.
excellent hostes. spend lot of time to help & be usefull for us.good location.
small room for 3 adults.
Clean and comfortable room. In a quiet area. 15 min walking distance from Termini.
Poor breakfast, Check out was at 10:30 am. Walk from Termini was a bit sketchy.
The host was very nice and helpful. Positive attitude. Situated a very convenient location for bus service or train service.
The place does not have elevator and you have to use stairs to carry your luggage. Make sure you confirm the price of the room first. We had a bad experience when we travelled with a group, the lady asked us to choose which room to take and in the end charged us a rate which was way higher than other group members, even if the room was not very different than others.
The receptionist was so friendly and helpful. Very clean room & bathroom. Even though the termini station was 10 minutes walk from the hotel, there was a bus, number 517, that crosses all the main monuments of the city. Really good choice compared to low price.
Perfect cleanliness and helpful staff
We were in room with two double beds. One of them was made from two camp beds and wasn't particularly comfortable. The second factor that prevented sleep was noise from street- cars, trams, trains, motorcycles
lady was friendly House very clean, and confortable Pretty close to bustop and tram
the street was a little "dark" at night!
Clean and a cosy place to stay.
It is not a conventional hotel but a guest house.Main door kitchen and lobby need to be shared with other room at the same floor.
La Rotella nel Sacco is a lovely house with comfortable and thoughtfully decorated rooms. Margherita and her mother could not have been more friendly. They are charming, friendly, helpful hosts who gave us a wealth of information about Rome. I would suggest to anyone arriving with luggage at the Termini that you take a 105 Bus or a 5 or 14 Tram to La Porta Maggiore as La Rotella is at the other end of Via Giovanni Giolitti next to Porta Maggiore and it is quite a walk.
- Great Hospitality - Clean Room and Bathroom - spacious room and relaxing - Close to Colosseo
- Breakfast (it could be better) - some noise from the passing trams but you can easily adapt
Bathrooms and rooms were very clean and adequate and staff was very helpful and friendly
The breakfast was included in the price of the hotel but it was a little disappointing. Basically vending maching pastry/sweets displayed nicely in a basket.
