We liked the balcony & full sea view. This was an upgrade for us & cost more than was originally booked. My husband decided we needed to enjoy the view as much as possible. The room & especially the bathroom was outstanding. We would stay here again without a doubt. The hotel itself is just beautiful. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. Staff was very professional. Top notch place.
N/A all good!!
The Views Private Secluded Beach Friendly Staff Short Walk into Town
Restaurant Was Over-Priced Beach Area Needs a Tidying Up
The staff was excellent; friendly and provided great service. We enjoyed the breakfast selection and dinner at the Hotel was excellent. The balcony and views were fantastic. Wouldn't change a thing about the hotel.
Amazing view. Personnel was very helpful. Nice breakfasts. Good location
Small window in the room
Location and staff were great!!
Fabulous location and views. Our terrace was great and the hotel was just far enough out of town that it felt very private and away from noise and traffic. We walked everywhere. It was a great stay and we would definitely go back.
Safe and comfortable place to stay. The view of the Bay of Naples is outstanding. I requested a room with a balcony and very much enjoyed the view. The staff was helpful in booking an excursion to Capri. It is a short walk out of the main city center - but worth the views once you get on the property.
I booked La Tonnerella through Booking.com. I was told that since I got such a great rate that they collected payment upfront. I had to pay for the room before I had a chance to see it and I didn't like not having the option to decline if I wanted. Fortunately the room was clean and comfortable - but if it wasn't I would have been stuck or had to loose my money if I went elsewhere.
We shared a gorgeous 2 br, 2bath suite that was even more spectacular than described. In addition to the bedrooms, there were 2 indoor sitting areas, and 2 terraces. There is also a beautiful private garden. A small refrigerator with minimal utensils/glassware allowed us to have cold wine and cheese in the afternoon. The spa/bathroom is amazing, but it should be noted, it's down a long flight of stairs from the main bedroom.
If two couples are traveling together, as we were, it's helpful to know a few things ahead of time: the second bedroom is furnished with two built-in single beds, and cannot be configured into a double. To reach this bedroom, one must go through the "master" bedroom. It is adjacent to one of the sitting areas/terraces with views, but the room itself does not have a window. There is a $35/day/person charge for more than 2 people sharing the suite. That said, it was still a good value, and for us, the configuration was not a problem.
Loved the location beautiful views from our room, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it. La Tonnarella made our stay in Sorrento an unforgettable experience.
Ensure you make this a stop on your travel plans, you wont be disappointed!!
Beautiful view of harbor from lovely terraces. Lovely accommodations and quality breakfast.
Long, long way down to the beach (elevator through rock) but the view from top is what it is all about.
We loved the view from our balcony which was immediately outside our room.It was well worth paying the extra to have this type of accommodation.
The noise of the plumbing system during the night i.e when using the toilet .It was also quite noisy when residents were moving around and slamming doors.
Loved the bath, views, breakfast and nice private beach with a lift!
Great location on the hill peak with unforgettable view. This is the quite place with it's own beach and clear sea between the rocks. The best place to get rest and relax after noisy big cities. With the excellent stuff you can feel yourself here like at home. Thanks to stuff for hospitality. Best regards to Christine for attention and help! This is our second time here but not the last.
This hotel hangs over a cliff and has spectacular views! Our room was, we were told, the nicest in the hotel, so our judgment may be skewed, but this was truly a remarkable place in terms of views, comfort and privacy. The outdoor shower was a treat. I have to say that the place could use a decor overhaul— natural canvas slipcovers over all of the chairs would update the place in short order. The daybed on the terrace needs a new mattress and should be hosed down from time to time. Still, what a lovely visit we had! True elegance that is rare these days!
Facilities need to be updated, especially beds. Not say it is very poor. Just feel not deserve paying that much.
We spent two nights in this hotel during our 10-day vacation in Italy, which turned out to be the right decision. This hotel offers you a panoramic view of Sorrento coast line and is on the perfect location to reach the town. The restaurant is excellent and suitable for Michelin Awards. The lobby is quite relaxing in the morning. Service-minded staffs are quite impressive.
Room with a fantastic terrace made our stay very special. Also a bonus being just a bit out of town center. Everything can be reached by a not too long and interesting walk. Marina Grande is a great place for dinner or a stroll for a bit of change from the busiest part of Sorrento. Highly recommend the hotel.
The views from anywhere on the property are incredible. We took wine and a quick bite on the terrace to soak it in. View from our room was incredible. View from balcony overlooking the bay for dinner was fantastic. La Tonnarella is quiet and peaceful, which is very important to me. It is situated on a high point above Sorrento. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We greatly enjoyed our time here.
The decor was not my preferred style. Too much blue and gold tile for me. But with the views, and the sea air I really didn't care.
The staff were outstanding. The receptionist was so helpful and answered all our questions enthusiastically. The waiter in the dining room at dinner and at breakfast was charming.
location, friendly staff
The view was great. We had a room with a balcony.
The bed was not very comfortable.
Friendly helpful staff. Stunning views of the bay. Interesting private beach. Good breakfast.
Our room didn't have a view, even though we had requested one. However it did have a good terrace, but close to the road.
From the moment we arrived Luigi took our car & our holiday began. Lovely friendly staff at breakfast & down on the private beach. Nothing was too much for the staff to do for you.
Balcony type windows looked out upon other verandas, so it was not very private for all concerned.
