The Hotel Desiree has accommodations on the cliffs above Sorrento, and is less than just over 1 mile from the center of town. It features stunning views of the Gulf of Naples.

The staff were outstanding. The receptionist was so helpful and answered all our questions enthusiastically. The waiter in the dining room at dinner and at breakfast was charming.
location, friendly staff
The view was great. We had a room with a balcony.
The bed was not very comfortable.
Friendly helpful staff. Stunning views of the bay. Interesting private beach. Good breakfast.
Our room didn't have a view, even though we had requested one. However it did have a good terrace, but close to the road.
Beautiful views, friendly staff
Walls were "thin". Heard people in other rooms
Old villa in desperate need for renovations. Water sipped into the room after it rained. We got a lame excuse.
View Location Beach Parking Big Rooms Romantic
Didn't replace towels next day. There are no queen/king beds. Instead there are two single beds joined together.
Our a suite of rooms had 2 balconies with stunning views. Two bathrooms, one of which had a jacuzzi with a view over Sorrento and the Bay of Naples! Surreal. We had our own private garden with sunbeds.Staff were friendly and helpful.Food was good.Public areas of hotel tasteful and full of character. Quiet and relaxing hotel.
Would have liked beach towels to be provided.
Views, room and balcony excellent
Beach, rocks, cost of beach chair hire
The view from the hotel and the cleanliness is great. Also, short walking distance to the old town centre, touristic area. Breakfast is really good for Italian standards. Excellent but expensive restaurant. Very quiet area despite close to street.
- No view from room - Beds only 1.9m x 0.7m - Terrace not served - Beach is dirty, with broken glass - Beach towels and sunbeds need to be paid extra - Parking is very limited and way to hotel very narrow -Overpriced, overrated
This hotel has an excellent location and the view from our room was stunning! The breakfast was good with many options.
The wi-Fi strength was poor. The carpets could have used a good cleaning. The shower head was at knee height and was not very strong.
Amazing location, wonderful smallish family-run hotel. A real treat.
The room, the decor, the view!!! Everything was amazing! Great place to stay!
View, beach, warm and friendly staff
nice view, helpful staff, beautiful ambience
very poor breakfast
The service was excellent, prompt and courteous at all times. The service at reception was not always as above. The scenery was amazing. Do not move the building. The room size was spacious and all amenities were very conveniently close at hand. The waiting staff in the restaurant were amazing and always doing their utmost to ensure our stay was a memorable experience.
The shower was not fully functioning. The door in the safe had been removed. However the staff did provide a portable safe. A larger variety of meat dishes at the restaurant would be helpful for anyone not eating fish.
Tha location is excellent, the room was nice.
The bathroom is small, the tap works wrong, no enough light, lamp doesnot work. The restaurant is very expensive, but it is not enough of quality. The steak was cold served.
Pay a bit extra and go for the rooms with the terrace! Amazing views. Hotel restaurant is fantastic.
We liked everything especially the view and location.
Private beach Good location Nice views
A lot of stairs Our room was quite small for the price
The veiw was good if you are lucky enough to get a room with a veiw of the water which I suspect is kept for italian tourists
The lack of freindly people this place is not where the rich and famous stay maybe 20 years ago it might of been the place to be letting people from the street to use the private beach for a few euors to take over a basic rock and stone swimming area called a beach is a insult over priced living in the past hotel
the view from our balcony was amazing and the food very good ( best linguine al Golfo di Napoli ever !)
the service was not up to what you would expect from a 4 star classified hotel and the price we paid (no room service)
We chose this location for the views and beach access and was not disappointed. An added bonus was access to Wifi in our rooms. Breakfast was excellent provided you did not leave till late as platters were not topped up once empty. We appreciated that a cooked breakfast was included in the price.
Felt staff went through the motions rather than genuine friendly approach. At breakfast coffee/tea service not offered till breakfast over
The views are stunning, the hotel oozes old school Italian charm, and the male receptionist and the wait staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is perfectly located, out of the hussle bustle but within easy walking distance of the main town centre.
All 3 female reception staff were gruff in manner and fairly unwilling to help. The private beach is run down and has a sad, grubby feeling. The wifi wasn't working while we were there which made onward booking and planning very difficult. I may stay here again but would look for other hotels close by first.
