At first, the apartment seemed to be in really good condition, and we had a very pleasant welcome.
However, during my first morning there, I realized I had lots of bites all over my body. I tried to forget about it, but when I woke up the next morning, I had way more bites which seemed like bugbites, which forced me to buy expensive medicines (as I am a doctor). Seeing that the problem not only hadn’t solved itself but rather I would wake up every day with more bugbites, we made contact with the owners (Aldo and Stefano) to kindly inform them about the situation. They firmly denied the existence of bugs, implying (via a quick google search) that my “diagnostic” was an allergic reaction to bleach, hence putting my real medical diagnostic in doubt. They went so far as to make us spend our last day in the city in a dermatology hospital, in an attempt to dissuade us. In addition to this, thinking that we didn’t understand Italian, one of them tried to coerce the medical staff, hellbent into making them believe it was a chemical reaction. After an official diagnostic confirming my bugbites, they actually rejected it, and wanted us to spend the next day in another hospital for a third diagnostic. As you can imagine it really soured my stay in the apartment
They are placed near station and Vatican. Rooms were cleaned well and were comfortable to stay.
5 minutes walk to St. Peters and plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants right in the neighborhood. The kitchen is fully stocked so you don't have to buy any condiments, coffee or extras. Refrigerator had plenty of beer, water and juices all complimentary. Host was most accommodating and went out of the way for us. We would stay here again without a second thought.
Only downsides would be the cheesy wifi (his brother lives next door so we logged in on his router), the shower is a pain if your over 4' tall and weight over 90 pounds, it was late October and we could have used a blanket. These are all very minor issues which shouldn't influence your decision.
Just meters from St. Peter's Square. Nice rooms and great old lift for lift lovers :-) Good restaurants near by (except one called La Frusta on Via di Santa Maria alle Fornaci - that one keep away from). Others on the way to the square are fine especially Sandwich shop on Via delle Fornaci. Food is good and prices sligtly lower than in the center.
Place is big. Very comfortable. Close to St Peter's. Close to St Peter's railway station which is handy to get to the airport. Stefano greet us and was very helpful. Apartment is well stocked. There was 3 bottles of wine, beer in the fridge, a nice tin of biscuits. Stefano insisted that we eat and drink them, our gift for you. Would highly recommend.
This apartment has everything you need. It is spacious and beautifully furnished. Aldo & Stefano are welcoming hosts. I highly recommend staying here. Close to rail and bus or walk to all major attractions.
Everything was so perfect. We loved the accommodation and would love to come back as soon as possible.
- Reception was great. The owner greeted us with complementary wine, beer and fresh fruit. TV, stereo and books also provided. - Two key sets available. - Clean and spacious apartment, fully equipped kitchen. Flawless Wifi. Great neighbourhood. - Close to the bus station and Saint Peter's square. - Excellent typical grocery stores nearby.
- A little far from the city center, if you walk there.
Can't recommend this place more highly. The unit was incredibly quiet with the windows shut, cool because of the aircon, comfortable and very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped, with all the equipment & cupboard basics. The bed was the biggest & most comfortable we came across in all our travels. We were meet by Roberto on behalf of the owners, who patiently waited for us despite our lateness!! (First day of the trip, jetlagged and a little lost!). He was lovely, showed us around, and had even bought us a bottle of his favourite wine! It was such a wonderful way to start our trip. Location is fantastic - away from the crazy busy streets, close to the train station and bus line which can take you quickly to the Old part of the city. It's an easy walk to the Vatican, as you can guess from the views of the Basilica from your window! There's food stores, butchers and wine shops within a few hundred metres. To top it all off, the lovely church next door completes the Italian experience with regular bells throughout the day. Can't recommend this place more. We'll definitely be back if we're in Rome.
This apartment was an absolute gem! Stefano, who was lovely, met us as soon as we arrived in Rome and was kind enough to take us on a short tour of the neighbourhood, showing us great local restaurants. The apartment is beautiful - very clean, spacious, light and with lots of character. The fridge was stocked with drinks, and a bottle of red wine was waiting for us, which was a lovely touch. Guide books on Rome are also provided, which is really handy if you have forgotten your own! The views of Vatican City from the apartment window were beautiful, and you are a 2 minute walk from the main bus stops taking you to central Rome. We walked everywhere, and you can make it from the apartment to Piazza Venezia within 20 minutes, meaning this is the perfect place to escape the hoards of tourists but still explore Rome.
We struggled slightly to find the apartment, but this is probably more to do with my terrible sense of direction!
Location was prefect. No car needed, close to the St Peters train station and walking distance to many sights and a train or bus to any other. Owners are charming and the apartment open and inviting.
Only staying 4 days.
The apartment was spotless. Aldo and Stefano were gracious hosts. Walking, it was 2 minutes from the bus stop and shopping and restaurants, 10 minutes from a large grocery store, and 15 minutes from St. Peter's Square (I would have said 5 minutes). Very safe neighbourhood. Aldo and Stefano think of everything: first aid kit, guidebooks of Rome, snacks, umbrella, slippers were all there in the apartment. No hidden charges. We paid exactly what was quoted and received an immediate receipt. Aldo even answered my emails prior to the visit. We found it a little difficult to find - nowhere does it say "Laeta Domus" - the name tag at the entrance to the apartment is labelled "Aldo and Stefano". Stefano left coffee, water and beer and invited us to use them free of charge. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
We loved everything about our stay. Nice, relaxing safe area near Vatican. Our host was so good to us. Missed our 1st night there do to airline problems and he was quite understanding. One of the best places we stayed on our dream trip to Italy and hope that we can return someday!v
Very tricky to find. It is an apartment in a building which looks like private apartments with bells to ring to get in. Make contact with host ahead of time to avoid confusion.
Both the hosts Aldo and Stephano are very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble They even had the fridge filled with a few early essentials at m no cost. Their responses before and during our stay we're fast and helpful Flat is on 4th floor so less noise from street below. Good working lift. Will definitely go back
The details to attention and the thoughtfulness the owners have put into in. The apartment has everything, the owners even prepared bottled water and juices and yoghurt for our stay. It's warm and cosy and the decoration is lovely. The location is very close to the Vatican City yet you can still see how the local residents live as there are lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. There is also a Carrefour near the apartment where you can buy all the grocery for cooking. I highly recommend this apartment.
The property owner was fantastic and very accommodating. The apartment was very roomy clean and comfortable. There is plenty of good restaurants in the area and public transport is close by.
It is a little way out from much of the main attractions but still only a 10 to 15 Euro taxi ride to most places so not too bad at all.
proximity to San Pietro
This is a great place to stay. The owners, Aldo and Stefano, take great care in maintaing the property. The accommodations are spacious and clean. The location is easy to reach with public transportation and is only a 5 minute walk from Piazza San Pietro. Cold drinks were in the fridge on our arrival and the kitchen was well equipped and stocked with the basics: sugar, salt, oil etc. Bakery, green grocer, and super market are all within walking distance.
