With panoramic views of the Grand Canal, Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli dates back to the 16th century. Saint Mark's Square is just 2 stops away on the water bus.

On the Grand Canal just a few hundred feet from Venice’s Santa Lucia train station, Ca’ Nigra Lagoon Resort is a unique Venetian hotel.

the hotel is modern well designed featuring local glass. Dining room lovely with excellent breakfast and excellent food and service for the dinner. I liked the location and near vaparetto stop. I choose this because it was quieter than Venice. I liked the pickup at the airport, and staff were helpful.
nothing I didn't like
The location is excellent. The rooms very clean. Bubble bath. Hooray. So rarely seen. Some staff helpful. Airport shuttle useful but hard to book. We had to sit outside airport for 1.30 mins
Bath dangerous for slightly disabled person. No grab safety rail or shower mat for middle of bath. Didn't realise have to come downstairs in night for bathroom. Some Reception staff very formal and not very welcoming.
It was clean, fresh, nicely balanced. Pleasant atmosphere.
Pricey as are most of the hotels, but a better value for the money. The question is whether you want to stay on Murano or just visit. Not much to do in the evening there.
The food, the bath products, the bed, the look and feel of the hotel and the staff were all great
cars cant get up to the hotel unless they are really small and the wifi is horrible in every area except the lobby
Free water taxi service, lavish breakfast, comfortable and quality appointments, modern baths, and very quiet rooms. Away from the crowds of Venice, Murano is a charming 15-minute taxi ride away from the more touristic center of Venice.
Water taxi had limited hours and required reservation in advance; vaporetto service is available instead.
A very good hotel, modern with very comfortable rooms. We were there in Aug/Sept. One of our concerns was staying on Murano and having access to Venice, don't be. It is really easy to get to and from in using public transport (buy a multi-day pass). From the airport is one stop and a 5 minute walk (one bridge). From Venice - lots of options, we found the 5 minutes to Fondamente Nuove really easy and pretty much runs all night, from their everything was an easy 15 minute walk. There are plenty of other boats to get you to anywhere in Venice. The hotel shuttle has a schedule and picks up at the airport, St Marks and the Station - although we asked many times for the schedule it was a always a secret (we had to propose times, rather than being told there was a 9AM to St Marks with 2 seats). Book in advance before you get there. Check with them about airport pick ups (i think teh first was at 12pm and last at 9PM, you could be standing around waiting for a few hours (or use public transport).
The food at the hotel was very average. If your not on an inclusive deal there are much better options close by or in Venice. We arrived at 11PM and planned on room service. Nothing was available on the room service menu and in the end we had the worst club sandwich we have ever had. The breakfasts are not worth the money.
Location, close to Venice but on the much quieter island of Murano Vaporetto water taxi service right in front of the hotel. Style and quality of the hotel both excellent. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful Great breakfast
Advertised shuttle service to "other locations" e.g. piazzale Roma is very limited. Using local vaporetti is reccomended. Hotel restaurant serves ok dishes but highly overpriced
Everything very new and classy Comfortable rooms and beds, great bathroom Extremely helpful and friendly staff Nice breakfast buffet Location right next to vaporetto stop Museo, very convenient Free taxi boat to Airport and Venice, extremely comfortable :-)
Once in a while a new music cd wouldn't hurt (same music over and over again...) Lots of tourist groups who are extremely noisy very early in the morning (6.45... breakfast) if you're staying in a room on the ground floor! Staff could intervene to keep them a bit more quiet respecting guests who would like to sleep! Logistics and flexibility could be improved At present a lot of construction noise due to new bar and spa areas being built Restaurant menu very limited and not very inspired, prices rather high, service a little disorganized Slippers and a robe could be expected in a 4 star Hotel! No views from rooms (although we didn't mind too much ;-)
Beautiful hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Quiet luxury. Perfect location away from busier Venice, but water taxis to anywhere are just outside your door. Short trip to Venice or Burano. Would not stay anywhere else!
Expansive breakfast spread Incredibly clean and comfortable rooms Murano glasswork Helpful staff Location right in front of vaporetto station Free transfer to and from Venice Escape away from the masses of tourists in Venice
clean, comfortable and spacious hotel with great breakfast choices
No pool or gym
Lovely hotel and fairly easy to access once you figure out the local boat/bus system. They offer a free shuttle system so you can book to go into venice to all the sites and then hop on to come back to the hotel. Hotel is beautiful and clean and located in a quiet town. Not much to do for food in the evenings and I don't recommend eating at the hotel. It was pricey and not the best.
The restaurant had little choice on the menu. Was highly priced for what you got and it wasn't all that great either.
Great service in a beautiful hotel on the island not far from Venice.
The new hotel was very quiet and calm. Everything was fresh and it was a pleasure to stay there. It is right by the vaporetto station and it is worth a whole lot. The breakfast buffet was very good for a European hotel and I didn't leave the breakfast lounge hungry, although I'm vegetarian.
There were a few mosquitoes in our room, at all times. It was indeed a bit bothering since I could hear them making the annoying sound when near my head. They also bit me during the night and that was not so pleasant. The second day in Venice I purchased a mosquito repellent in a pharmacy, but unfortunately that didn't help that much. They still bit me. I think that the hotel can do something about this. When I was staying at a hotel in Singapore they didn't have this problem.
Lovely decor and set up of the room. Excellent breakfast. Overall a very good experience. Would definitely stay there again.
It is a little far away from Venice however water bus and water taxis are easily available.
Everything was more than what we expected starting from the great breakfast to the room comfortness , free transport from the airport also the presence of COOP supermarket close to the hotel was a big advantage the staff was very helpful
Nothing and will definiltly come back :)
Location Free shuttle by the hotel
The hotel was fantastic. The staff was extremely nice. The breakfast was larger than other hotels we stayed in while in Italy. The shower was large. The wifi signal was strong the whole time we were there.
Nothing. The perfect place to stay!!!
I made the decision to stay on the island of Murano and I'm so glad that we did. While the crowds were going back on the boats we enjoyed the quiet streets. The hotel was new , state of the art and the rooms were spacious. It was a fantastic find!
Outside Location is good
View from Room not good
Was overall a nice luxury hotel
The one bad thing about this hotel there was loads of Mosquitos in the room my whole body got bitten apart from that was good
, Interior design, restaurant food The Calmness , sleep quality , If you are couple , and staying more than one night go for it, if you are there for Venice hit and run… for one night , find something in Venice proper
My kids got angry on me , because they wanted to be int he middle of noisy Venice.., it far a way , 35 min by rocky , and sometime crowded boat.
We spent 3 nights in Venice and then 4 nights in Croatia, having to fly home from Italy and return our rental car we decided to spend our last night away from the busy streets of Venice and booked La Gare, if I was to book all over again I'd have stayed in La Gare for our first few nights and travelled into Venice as 1. The provide a free shuttle which was excellent in getting us to the airport and 2. The difference in quality and comfort compared to our hotel in Venice was unbelievable. The best hotel of our whole trip! beautiful location, beautiful rooms, and beautiful personalities in all of the staff! - thank you!
Rooms are super clean and comfortable. The best escape from the crowded tourist traps. Breakfast was fabulous. Price was very reasonable. Happy Family
