The historic Grand Hotel Plaza has been featured in many movies. Set on Rome’s popular shopping street, Via del Corso, it has large elegant rooms with high ceilings and marble bathrooms.

In a 19th-century building, the Quirinale is a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum. This historic hotel is connected to Rome Opera House through a passageway in its leafy courtyard.

As it was our anniversary we were given a room upgrade and a bottle of sparkling wine for the 1st of 3 night stay. The Executive room had great facilities. Beds are comfortable. The roof terrace for breakfast was great and so was the breakfast staff! Good location only 10-15 walk from the main station, and 2 min walk to the metro, Spanish steps and Trevi fountain about 20 min walk and some good bar / restaurants in the area.
Rooms are looking tired and in need of refurb, even the executive room we were in needed some TLC. We booked a standard room as I said was upgraded for 1st night so had to pack to move rooms next morning, after packing and getting sorted was offered an option to upgrade rooms and stay in the executive room for addition €300, which if I'd been offered before packing I probably would have paid, but just had a feeling there was an ulterior motive. The Standard room was not good: Holes in the curtains, a crack and hole in the bath panel, the shower soaked the bathroom due to both bad design and shower head attachment being worn and loose, sealant round the bath was stained. Top of the mirror and headboard thick with dust. Room was very small had to shuffle to get down the side of the bed and through bathroom door. Flickering light in the bathroom and to top it off the cups in the room were polystyrene (though to be fair these were changed for proper cups after requesting them to be changed at reception but had to ask twice). This is not 5 star quality. I would not recommend this hotel at the prices they are charging, I have stayed in many other Accor hotels and would have to say this is by far the worst from a quality and value point of view...Such a shame.
The main staff, bellmen, concierge, front desk were fantastic! We really cannot say enough good things about them. In addition to being experts at their jobs, they also had great personalities. The room was generously sized and comfortable. The rooftop facilities with their wonderful views were very nice and a plus. We like to walk and were able to walk to everything from the hotel's location.
Housekeeping could have been much better. Towels not replaced, dirty towels left, missed turn-down service one night. Our bathroom sink had a leak and sprayed water in certain faucet positions. The top drawer in our closet would get stuck in the open position. There was quite a bit of broken glass outside of our door one afternoon. There was only one chair in our living room area and there should have been at least one more.
Everything. We got upgraded on arrival. I loved it there.
we had 2 large rooms with big nice beds.(not all the rooms have the same size).
the reception and lobby area were small. the shower booth was so small if I droped my sope I couldn't bend down and get it.
This was my second visit. I like the friendliness of the hotel staff, the excellent breakfast and La Griffe's central location.
Nothing really springs to mind as far as negative comments go.
If service and location is important, this is the perfect hotel. Its a short walking distance to almost all the sites in Rome. We did not need to take a sightseeing bus as we could stroll to all the important places (Colosseum, Trevi, Spanish steps, Pantheon). Upon arrival our room was not ready, and because of the wait we were given free drinks on the roof top terrace and upgraded to a junior suite. The service at the reception was 5 star, for sure. The doorman (an older man with light eyes) was our finest guide. On his own initative he gave us important facts about sites, which metro to take to the Vatican, and also recommended a great restraurant. We especially liked small details such as the room being checked up on at night (after cleaning during the day) and electronic "do not disturb" signs.
The food in the restaurant on the roof top was actually not very good (stay away from the gnocchi with beets). The prices here were absurdly high compared to everything else we encountered in restaurants. The shower tended to live its own life, with regards to pressure and heat.
The fitness center was very bad
The service was fantastic. We had an issue with the bed on our first night, the following nights they upgraded us to Top Suite, at no additional cost! Great service and friendly staff. Excellent service and great location. Would be happy to visit again
Food in the restaurant was not exceptional.
Staff were very friendly and helpful The room was clean and comfortable
Prices at the hotel bar 25 euro for 1 beer & 1 vodka coke!
Everything was pretty good
The bed was way too hard.
Minor thing: there was a lot of noise in the hallway that you could hear very well in the room. The room was not well isolated with respect to the sound coming from the hallway. That woke me up every morning.
Location was excellent. Room was comfortable . Breakfast had a good range. Rooms are soundproof . Staff is polite and helpful.
Excellent location. Great bar on terrace
Location is excellent, you can reach all locations worth to see at city center on foot, even no need to take underground. What I like the most is the roof bar and restaurant with beatiful view. Breakfast was very good and was great to have the breakfast with such great view.
Infrastructure at the barthroom could have been better, there was no curtain at the bathroom where water was splitting across while taking bath. Also there was a leakage at the tab..
The location is excellent. Most sights are walkable and it is on a very good shopping street. There are many restaurants between the hotel and the colliseum to suit most budgets. Our room was upgraded to a deluxe at booking in. It was very comfortable, clean and big , by european standards. It had a minibar, safe and very nice toiletries. We had a turn down service each night. We thought the restaurant and breakfast selection was very good. There is a lovely view and you can take you cappucino outside to finish. The roof terrace is the floor above and also has a outside jaccuzi. You can order a drink from the bar and go up there to watch the sunset. The waiter will come up and take orders. We thought the staff were very friendly and very helpful If we return to Rome, we would definitely book this hotel again. I am surprised it does not have a higher rating because it deserves it!
The bath/shower is roll top and there is no shelf for your soap and shampoo. There should be a hotel guide with restaurant times and wifi passwords in the room. These were the only improvements we could think of!
Excellent, I like is very good
The breakfast The rooftop terrace The room was lovely and comfortable Great location- walking distance to most attractions
The evening menu- very expensive and not best quality The staff were not as friendly as I would have liked. Small elevator
Hotel was clean, friendly staf,f good breakfast and an ideal stay for a weekend break in Rome.
Passage ways and reception had black decor and were dark, rooms were very modern but workmanship was a little poor.
Hotel is in a very central location. It is very modern with common areas and rooms decorated in a modern style. Breakfast is also of a very good standard.
The level of cleanliness in the bathroom in the room we were staying left much to be desired.
Great location! Very friendly staff.
Parts of the hotel looked tired. Not what I'd expect from 5* hotel
Stayed here for a special anniversary....allocated a fabulous room with large balcony on 8th floor...and a bottle of chilled prosecco on arrival! Staff were really helpful and couteous....nothing was too much trouble. Bell Hop Joseph extremely kind and efficient. A great location and themed modern decor with fabulous roof top restaurant...perfect choice!
Breakfast buffet good, but could have offered more variety. Rooftop jacuzzi not in use.
Location, staff was great.
Bed was not very comfortable
We were a party of 6 travelers. This was a trendy hotel with modern design. The friendly front desk staff and the "older" bell hop was the best part (the younger one was not as experienced or helpful). The bell hop had great recommendations on places to eat, got a taxi that fit all 6 of us within 5 minutes (most taxis fit 4 people so the vans are harder to come by) and would literally walk out in front of traffic and stop it to help us cross the street.
There is a restaurant on the 9th floor just above all three of our rooms and I was worried about hearing noises as we slept but we didn't hear much, thankfully.
