Finding the house, hidden away on a winding cobble stone pathway, in
this hilly village, was both difficult and frustrating. This search took
us well over thirty minutes. Neither our gps nor other reliable
navigation maps were of any help. It would have been appreciated if our
confirmation provided detailed directions.
Another issue was security. The front of the hotel was well protected. However, to our surprise, we discovered that on the street below, lower down on the back side of the building, the hotel shared an entry point with an apartment; this door remained open for all to enter.
A truly most gracious couple served as our hosts in this magnificent medieval city. Though an Italian-English language barrier kept us from conversing, their warm welcome was lovely. At breakfast time we were greeted with a delicious assortment of appealing home made foods.
