Best Western Laurus Al Duomo  

There was not really anything that i did not like about the hotel or my stay at Laurus Al Duomo. It was excellent! But probably the best thing about this hotel is it location, 400m to the Central Train Station, a few hundred metres to the Cathedral and Tower, walking distance to everything, all the sites, shopping restaurants and street entertainment... just fantastic.

The breakfast is the usual Italian Best Western breakfast found a lot of Best Westerns, which as a foreigner, I found limited.

The rooftop balcony where we were having breakfast had amazing view and was VERY pleasant!

Generally it was a very good hotel - especially they have a very well priced cafeteria

Like most hotels a coffee service facility in the room is not provided. A good entertaineing/relaxing televison set of programs (in our native language) both on tv or as a rental library from the hotel is not available.

The hotel is very nice and located within very easy walking distance of the main sites (Duomo, Uffizi. Etc.). The rooms were very nice and the rooftop terrace for breakfast and afternoon receptions was very nice. Hotel staff was very knowledgable and helpful with all requests and very prompt with bringing requested items (tea service, iron and ironing board) to the room.

The breakfast offer could be a bit better in terms of variety. Only complaint is confusion over getting to hotel parking. Florence has a lot of restricted access areas for cars and we likely will end up with some camera tickets for driving somewhere we should not have. Best way to get to hotel with a car is to come into main train/bus station area and then just drive down street to hotel rather than trying to go straight to hotel. Also note that parking is handled by a separate company who picks up car and takes it to facility and brings it back (also have to pay separately in cash)

It was very good, very near to everything. Recomend for everyone.

At the first impression, i was glad that i selected this hotel, pls review the red below. I wouldnt say the staff were friend,y, you'll be lucky to be helped "Alberto", he is the best among the others based on the other staff i met. The location is great, very close to the main train station as well as center and the main attraction, its just a stone through from the Doumo. The hotel is very clean and newly renovated, nice finishing material where used for renovation.

As i said before, some of the staff are not very friendly (but not rude). The breakfast is not up to 4* hotel. During my 2 days stay, havent get my room done. I had to pay an additional 4 euro city tax for every person every night which was not shown on the original rate, for me it was like a chea as i ddnt want to spoil my vacation with a fight with the hotel stafft, dunno if it the hotel fault or "booking.com" mistake

The staff were very courteous and we appreciated the complimentary champagne.

Incentives or discounts for next stay could be offered.

Parking was expensive but efficient.

Staff was not very kind.

Excellent location, friendly staff.

Fantastic location in Florence. Friendly helpful staff. Double glazing meant it was very quiet. I have stayed in Best Western Hotels in many cities around the world & always find them centrally located & 'user friendly'.

Small shower - didn't drain properly. Very slippery shower base.
