It could not be rated as 5-star hotel, 4 stars the most. Extremely uncomfortable beds, pillows. No safe deposit in the room, you have to go to concierge.

I liked the beach side, they have a beautiful deck for sun bathing and a great resturant on the side. The hotel location is outstanding overlooking positano, quite area and there is hotel shuttle back and forth to downtown. For the rate we paid room furniture was poor and breakfast too.

A fantastic location, beautiful views from the terrances of the rooms. Very friendly relaxed informal staff. The beach deck, swimming area and beach restaurant are great. The rooms are not City 5 star luxury but absolutely appropriate for a high quality summer holiday feel. The views are just exceptional. The hotel are very helpful on recommendations, booking boat trips and hiring boats and other activities - but you have to ask, little information is actually provided. Could provide a little more information to guests

The weather was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful we had turn down service every night There was also a courtesy bus laid on so you can get into town, the pool area was nice and quiet, we liked all the stairs it kept us fit. The private beach was lovely but can get a bit noisy with the mobile phones and the boards move when someone walks by, sea was lovely, the view was stunning could'nt get enough of it. There were a lot of bugs that kepted on coming in our room it was like something out of evolution you were frightend to open a cupboard in case something jumped out at you, and no they were not just gnats, ants or flys, we had giant millepedes that must of been on steriods, spiders and big wood lice. The bed was too hard which were twins put together, when I booked I did ask for double, no singles and No Gaps the pillows were to hard and the shower was useless, oh and girls bring a hairdryer and a travel kettle as there are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. There was'nt a safe in the room you have to use safe deposit box in reception. I think the room was sub-standard for what we paid, but on the other hand we will go back but will book direct so we get exactly what we want. The room that we stayed in (707) classic double only had a small balcony you felt a bit to close to your neighbours.could have done with a bigger room. We were not keen on the continental breakfast it does become a bit samey after a while but there was plenty to choose from if you like that kind of thing.........

Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The site is spectacular and well located in Positano. The hotel has a very good private shuttle service to the heart of Positano. You really do not need, and do not want anyway because of the road, to use your car. Morning breakfast was ok. On the negative side: the room are not well soundproof and because of all the ciment and marble it was very echo, so we could hear the people from the next room. Also the hotel restaurant is very expansive, no light menu for room service.

This was a wonderful location for a stay in Positano. The shuttle to and from town was a very efficient way to enjoy some of the action and then leave it all behind. The rooms offered an absolutely peaceful retreat with amazing views and tons of privacy. The terraced lay-out of the hotel is a truly unique feature. I would offer up one complaint about the noisieness of bathrooms flushing in adjacent rooms. It's a little annoying being woken up by this. Having said that, I experienced the same annoyance at other high-end hotel stays in Rome during the same trip. Maybe toilets are just a little quieter in North American hotels!

Hotel Le Agavi is a family owned 5* hotel set in the most unbelievable location. No brochure / review / could possibly do it justice - you just have to go and find out for yourself! Yes this is the south of Italy, so any Hotel is going to be a different type of experience to that of somewhere like Dubai or major cosmopolitan resort - but this hotel exceeds all expectations. The staff are attentive and extremely helpful, rooms are clean and have the most wonderful views on the planet - you look across to Positano and .... wow! The restaurant completes the experience - stunning view, extremely high quality food and great service - what more could you ask for.

The views are stunning from wherever you are at the hotel. It was good to watch Positano from outside the town, although the free shuttle bus transported you there and back every hour. The room was very large with a good sized terrace. Food was fantastic - some of the best seafood I have ever had. Price - I guess - it was a little expensive for the room and dinner but we would still pay it again.

It's a unique hotel to Positano - with many amenities like pool, beach, deck and restaurant on site. It's a little stuffy and if you're not Italian you definitely feel like an outsider. Staff if helpful, but formal and standoff-ish if you don't know what to ask to become more comfortable. Don't expect to move about without giving yourself a lot of time to negotiate the many levels of this hotel. Very relaxing once we figured out how to pace ourselves. The free shuttle to town was great. Landscaping is beautiful. The steps to everything were a novelty that wore off quickly. The hotel needs a small sundries shop on site for conveniences though or concierge who can stock drugstore basics, gum, candy bars, small stuff. Also, the hotel restaurants are outrageously expensive even by Positano standards - 14 Euro for a dish of ice cream and 22 Euro for a simple sandwich is crazy a midday lunch on the deck while sunbathing. It's lovely hotel, but overpriced for what you get, although the property is unique and I understand them capitalizing on their features. It's just that it's not so comfortable to move about the grounds and doesn't feel luxurious.

The private beach and pool were great, and the restaurant La Serra had amazing food. There was a free shuttle into Positano which was great too. For the price we thought the room was a little basic, you really do pay for the facilities of the hotel, rather than the room.

Everything was absoluetly amazing. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, especially the staff at the beach resaurant. We spent every day on the deck down by the sea which im surprised hasnt been talked about a lot on the reviews. It is amazing. If you jut want to relax on a really confoirtable pool chair, dip into the mediteranean every so often, get waited on by the amazing staff then this place is for you. The shuttle bus into poitano takes max 10 minutes and is such a blessing given that a taxi would cost 20 euros. It comes every hour and is always on time and very comfortable. Overall amazing hotel, amazing 8 days there (we actually extended out stay by 1 night because we just couldnt bare to leave). Wish I was back there now!

All the employees ( the porter, reception, restaurant and courtesy bus driver) were very friendly and helpful 10/10 and of course the location of the Hotel at the top of the cliff rewarded us with outstanding views- a gem. The only disappointment was that we found the mattress was extremely hard .

- The breakfast was good, employees very friendly - This is not really a 5 star ; maximum 4 stars! Very old furnished, small bathrooms, old furniture, you have to pay extra for the parking eur 25,- the day, also for the internet you have to pay - this is not what I would expect from a 5-star-hotel.

Absolutely fabulous view from each room. Room decor appears traditional of the area and may not be to everyone's taste. The breakfast is excellent and everyone working at the hotel is very attentive. Another plus of the hotel is that is at higher altitude and not downtown in the crowded Positano where you may have to carry your heavy luggage in steep hills and steps I sympathize with the fact that the area does not offer ample space to park but I feel that hotel guests should not be charged 25 euro/day
