Score from 330 reviews Very good
I loved this hotel for all of it's unique charm and it's 5 star service. Only a ten minute shuttle to the center of town, I loved staying away from the congestion of the town. By far, This hotel is exceptional, with unique charm that you will only find there. Cable car to your room, gorgeous landscaping, excellent service and it's own private beach that you take an elevator and tunnel, down through the rock to access. Truly one of a kind and the highlight of my Amalfi stay.
They need free and better wi-fi!
not our first visit to positano nor this hotel. as usual, the staff treated us like family, very warm and friendly. the service was great in the breakfast room as well as by the beach and the beach restaurant. we will definitely be back!
Everything in this hotel screams "fabulous"... Staff is so friendly.. The location is wonderful with this shuttle facility... The view is simply amazing... Just one thing needs to be reconsidered by the hotel management : the bed is not so comfortable... That's it...we really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely come back again..
The staff was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. The views were great. The rooms are clean.
It is rated 5 star but is not close, maybe a 3. Beds very very uncomfortable and the room we had was very noisy making sleep difficult and at times impossible. You have to take a shuttle to town which was not convenient. The property needs updating. The floors are all tile which contributes greatly to the noise in the main building. We left early and paid a penalty.
We chose this hotel as it is the only hotel in Positano with a private beach. It's an amazing way to experience a dip in the Mediterranean! The balcony off each of the rooms provide the most spectacular views over Positano. Perfect after a long lunch to watch the sunset and enjoy another prosecco! Can't wait to go back.
The beach and dramatic hillside setting are breathtaking.
In room toiletries not up to scratch.
Amazing view, great private beach with delicious food at the beach restaurant and very kind staff. The shuttle was so convenient way to go to the town.
The rooms decor should be changed. Uncomfortable beds at all and the ac was so loud. Expensive wifi, it was the only hotel that we stayed in during our trip in Italy with no free wifi, 3 euros for half hour was too much.
Great Views Property is very nice Private beach is well setup pool area was great
Room was very basic, very old decor. I would expect tea and coffee making facilties, an iron and iron board and a decent hairdryer (the old fashion wall mounnted ones are not sufficient to dry long hair). When I asked for an iron and ironing board I received this small ironboard which made it impossible to iron anything. There was shampoo but not condiotioner, no body lotion. These things are expected from a 5 star hotel.
The views were amazing. Private beach area was fantastic. Frequent shuttle made it easy to get to town.
Our "king" bed was just two twins pushed together and the bed/bedding was generally uncomfortable. Decor could use an upgrade given the expense of stay.
Loved the little lemon stand outside. The staff were very friendly. Views were to die for.
Having to race back to get the shuttle on time - if you missed it you were stuck for another hour.
HOTEL LOCATION OVER LOOKING AN AMAZING DROP OF MOUNTAIN TO THE SEA
THE HOTEL SHOULD HAVE ELEVATERS TO ALL THE ROOMS INSTEAD OF GOING UP AND DOWN SO MANY STEPS EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO GO TO BREAKFAST OR POOL OR GOING OUT OF THE HOTEL
The room was good the staff friendly
The fact that there are numerous stairs and not lifts serving all areas namely the pool. In order to get in or out if the hotel one had to walk a steep hill. The room was full of ants
Stunning location and unique set up of hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful - nothing was too much of a problem.
Leaving the hotel to reclaim my safety
Rude staff Bad food Poor value for money
The hotel is situated on the side of the mountain and running into the sea, the staff are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable but the best part of this hotel is the view from the very large terrace, absolutely breath taking. The fenicular railway to the beach is invaluable as it is a long way down but the trip is well worth it. The bar and restaurant staff are great but as the bar man told me "it's our little secret." I can't recommend this place highly enough, we loved every minute there.
No tea or coffee facilities in the room and you still have to pay for Wi-Fi which is slow. But hey small price to pay for a slice of paradise.
Le Agavi is not a common hotel since everything in it is unique. The perfect location of the hotel, the rooms set up and the funicular. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay unforgettable, namely Sonia who is so helpful and Emilio. I will surely come back.
Beach club was great. Ask for a mattress topper as the beds are hard.
Expected more from a 5 star hotel. It is a 4 star hotel
We loved the quiet location that is a short distance from the center of Positano. Nights were quiet with a terrific view of the city from our very large private terrace. The terrace was awesome - huge! Table for four constructed of heavy duty (not plastic) material. Two large lounge chairs with comfortable padding. We loved the large bathroom with a door onto the porch - two sinks and a clean jetted tub. Toiletries provided were of a high quality. The daytime view from our terrace was unrivaled. Just fantastic! Breakfast was awesome! Fresh fruit, lots of cereals and granola with yogurt, fresh squeeze juices, tons of freshly baked donuts and pastries - fantastic tomatoes/basil and fresh ricotta cheese. Ask for an espresso or capuccino at breakfast - the staff was very happy to accomodate. We were particularly impressed with the turndown service/cleanup while we were at dinner - what a pleasant surprise! New towels provided constantly. Great quality slippers and robes. Shuttle to town was just fine - left promptly, so don't be late. Get a room near the top of the hill - much more convenient and timesaving. If you are eating at a restaurant on the way to town center, just let them know and they'll drop you off! Best part - if you go to La Ferdinando Beach Bar on Fornillo Beach, Guido will drop you via water taxi at the Agave dock for free after you enjoy their fabulous food and drinks. Also - be adventurous - take the 910 steps down to the Fornillo Beach - the front desk will give you the location of the stairs just down the street from the hotel entrance at the road. The pool was very clean and refreshing with excellent service. We loved staying here and would definitely return!
The wifi should be free and should be upgraded. The pillows that came with our room were hard so we simply asked at the desk for some softer pillows and 4 soft feather pillows were delivered without delay. Beds were a tad hard, but we have come to expect that in our various stays in Europe. It would be nice to have a sink and mirror outside of the bathroom in the suites.
Everything about this hotel and the location was very special. The staff created a true family atmosphere and were extremely helpful and friendly.
The view is amazing, the beach is fine
The bed is hard, the furniture is old and not a five star hotel
Beautiful views and lovely staff.
Hard beds. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities.
Beach club very comfortable, friendly staff at breakfast
Hard bed, tiny room and balcony, terrible shower, tiny TV with no English speaking channels, rude staff, hidden charges, wifi in 5 star should be free, free water taxi was charged on our bill! Ridiculously expensive food - 25euro mixed salad. Had to reserve sun beds, shuttle to town unreliable, generally not 5 star in anyway.
The staff were very pleasant, attentive and efficient Very nice rooms with stunning views of Positano.
The Beach and Pool areas are inaccessible to anyone with mobility problems, due the number of steps which have to be negotiated. Very expensive compared with a similar standard hotel in Europe. The Restaurant is expensive, limited menu and guests appear to avoid it in the evenings. A similar Hotel and better allround value check out Hotel Bonsol Majorca
Location is great. Very old, classic style. Facilities very standard and for the price you would expect more. Needs more luxury or modernisation given the price
Facilities weak. Staff could be more attentive at beach restaurant
