Everything about this hotel and the location was very special. The staff created a true family atmosphere and were extremely helpful and friendly.
The view is amazing, the beach is fine
The bed is hard, the furniture is old and not a five star hotel
Beautiful views and lovely staff.
Hard beds. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities.
Location is great. Very old, classic style. Facilities very standard and for the price you would expect more. Needs more luxury or modernisation given the price
Facilities weak. Staff could be more attentive at beach restaurant
The funiculare and the incredible private beach it leads to. Service level.
Low power air conditioning at the room.
Private beach and swimming pool, design of hotel and rooms.
The Resturant is too expensive. Also, the room rate is a too high.
The people were nice The deck at the beach was excellent
The room smelt bad, very old and tired The room service was expensive for what you got The menu was limited and basic The layout was inconvenient
Staff is pleasant Location is nice with great views. Room was clean Breakfast terrace has a beautiful view.
Not worth the price of the room. Room was outdated and beds were quite hard and uncomfortable. Very loud. There was a gap around the door frame that let in noise and light from the hall way. You pay for wifi but only one device (of the 2 allowed) can be using it at a time!?! Breakfast was included but was just average. Nice to have a free shuttle into Positano but only runs once an hour.
food old rooms ants all over rooms small shower small tv hard to see very old bed and pillows was very expensive and not worth half of what i paid unfriendly staff and not willing to offer suggestions of where to go and what to do old staff was not very pleasant to stay with you guys for our honeymoon and nothing was done for us to make it a more enjoyable stay no one imformed us about the tarnsportation you offer very bad service i woudl like to be refunded for part of this stay as it was not worth it at all
Location and views. But nothing else. Huge disappointment considering the price you pay to stay here. Out of all the hotels i have ever stayed at, this is the only one that has genuinely made me upset. For over 500euro per night, i expected so much more.
- Hugely expensive given the condition of the hotel. It might have been the latest and greatest in the 80s and 90s but today its greatly dilapidated. The owners have not bothered to spend a single sent upgrading its appearance and facilities. You cant charge 5 star prices for 3 star (at best) condition and service. And i agree with other reviewers when i say that the website photos are VERY misleading. The pool does not look at all as nice as the website shows with overgrown shurbs and cracks everywhere you look! - The beds were AWFUL. Hospital beds are more comfortable. I urge anyone staying here to look under your bed. The frame is as cheap as they come and the mattress is rock solid. Even 3 star hotels are more comfortable. - Staff seemed genuinely uninterested - Everything looked dilapidated (Pool, beach area, rooms, reception area, hotel grounds in general). Its just unacceptable to charge so much, for such poor facilities. There are many other great hotels in the area for much less $$. Dont let the views convince you, stay at a nicer hotel elsewhere, save money, and enjoy the views from elsewhere is my tip.
Shuttle to town, VERY VERY CLEAN, nice breakfast. Beautiful view. People were SO NICE.
The hotel itself is about 10 minutes from town. The hotel offers free shuttle every hour to take you then pick up. Also, it is in a mountain, so there were 2 elevators to get to our room. To get to their "beach" you had to get on the funiculare and steps. I would have rather been in a hotel that was in town.
The staff, the location, mini bus,
Breakfast buffet was average
View from this hotel is just spectacular. Liked the shuttle bus, taking and picking you up in the town.
Couldn't understand why they were doing major works on the beach kitchen during holiday season. This should have been carried out, out of season as the lunch menu was very limited.
Location. You stay out of Positano. Needs shuttle to the city center. Daily rate 530,00 Euros ( = U$ 720,00 ) and you have to pay 5,00 euro/hour for internet ( not high speed )... Ridiculous... Avoid the restaurant of the hotel.. VERY EXPENSIVE. Try to stay in the main building, if not you'll have walk long distance. Prepare your legs.. A lot of stairs...
The people are so nice, the views are unmatched in the amalfi area. Can't wait to return next year.
Beds were too hard, food too expensive
Not much Checked out before we even unpacked
Bad location Dated rooms $$$$$ crazy price
The beach area- staff, restaurant, service, excellent. Reception really helpful ,friendly, professional. All the staff from porters and cleaners to managers ,excellent. The bus service to town. The location.
The main restaurant- poor menu.. The beds- really hard! Fighting for a seat on the shuttle bus- more trips at busy times would be sensible.
Beautiful views, especially from the pool and eating areas. Shuttle service was clutch. Would stay here again in a heart beat. People complain about the beach, but honestly- you don't go to the Amalfi Coast for the beach, if you want a nice beach go to a different part of the world.
Bed was ungodly hard- I mean, I like a firm mattress, but this was board stiff! lol
This hotel should not have been rated a 5 star!,
Location, view, pool and private beach
Disturbing noises during the night, bad insonorization of the bedroom, door of the bathroom did not close, door of the room let pass light during the night, old windows, WiFi payed and expensive. Restaurant by the beach expensive and bad food.
Location was perfect. Staff were very professional and helpful. View and facilities were amazing.
The location is really good. This is what you pay your money for - the view on the bay. The rest doesn't rank for more than 3 stars, starting from very modest breakfast and ending by very bad and loud airco. Doesn't make you feeling like coming back, not for 600€ per night.
Breakfast, restaurants - highest prices for no efforts whatsoever. Room - uncomfortable beds and pillows. Very loud airco.
The view is amazing. Me could not have asked for a better one
The rooms are very dated, very uncomfortable beds
