Le Charaban  

Great location, beautiful scenery, immaculately clean, great staff (helpful, polite), delicious food, quiet and inviting foyer. English, French, Italian spoken fluently. My only regret is that we only spent 2 nights - we had a short stay between 2 destinations. Would definitely return....we went in late May and would love to experience this area in winter.

The hotel is not easy to find when driving up the mountain - no visible signs or indications. We drove past it and when we came back down the mountain the hotel sign was more evident. It isn't that bad because it gives you a wonderful opportunity to take in the wonderful scenery.

Such friendly and helpful staff. Rooms large and well appointed,plenty of towels and toiletries supplied. Evening meal was delicious. Fresh food beautifully cooked and served . The same applies to breakfast with home baked produce on offer. An excellent hotel. We would definitely return and will highly recommend to anyone.

Location was perfect for us, as we were travelling from the uk to Italy and Acosta is a perfect second night stop.

There was nothing to complain about, except perhaps the final instructions to the hotel could be a little clearer.

Welcoming staff, good size room with terrific views. Kettle etc in room. Good breakfast. A little out of town, but easy to park. Very good value for money food in the restaurant. Would definately stay here again.

Really nice little hotel, just out side of Aosta town..but a nice easy drive to get there as well as to the cable car to Pila. Our room was large and comfortable as was the bathroom. Wifi was a pretty good and can't complain about that. It also had lots of parking and the hotel was easy to find. Breakfast was nice and plenty of it and the fact you could eat at their restaurant at a resonable cost was a real bonus. If I came again I would definitely stay here as it provided a great base to explore Aosta and its surrounding areas.

Delightful small family run hotel where all staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Alessandra, the receptionist speaks excellent English. The food in the restaurant was freshly cooked,reasonably priced and delicious so we ended up eating there 3 out of 4 nights. The room was very comfortable with free wi fi and a kettle!! (Not often found in small European hotels in our experience)

You really need a car to stay here as its at the northern edge of the town, but if you have one its only 5 minutes drive to the centre.

Very comfortable hotel. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner - we loved the cakes in the morning. The big room and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. We would go back there!

We loved our stay at Le Charaban, the hosts were extremely helpful and obliging. We had a wonderful view of snow capped mountains from our room. great place to explore the Alps from.

Location and views were superb. Staff knowledgeable helpful and could not do enough to make sure your stay was the best it could be. Food was excellent. Couldn't fault the room. Would stay there again and would recommend to all our friends.

The scenery around the hotel is stunning, the parking was good which we look for as we were driving through Europe, the staff were so kind and helpful and the hotel food was good and local.

A warm welcome ! The staff is very outgoing and provides an excellent service Don't miss an aperitif on the terrace while enjoying the fabulous view on the monte bianco ! Very nice and clean room , the street next to the hotel is not too noisy Well situated for a walk to the centre of Aosta and to finish a beautifull day , we can recommend the housemade fruitsalad, ....it was delicious !

When I wanted to walk to the city centre, the first 50 meters could be done only on a busy road without a walking pavement

Le Charaban is a fairly new small hotel with excellent facilities. We stayed 3 nights. Everything is new and high-quality. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, carpeted, and very comfortable, with beautiful mountain views. We had reserved a quad room for our family of four, which was on the ground floor without the views, but the proprietor offered us adjoining rooms on the second floor, which had more space and the views, for the same price. We were very happy! The common sitting area on the ground floor is spacious and comfortable, with games and a computer for use, and also a pleasant coffee/drink bar area. The dining room (breakfast comes with the room, and they serve dinner nightly) is beautiful and bright with many windows and views. We had 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners there. The breakfast was delicious, European style: breads, meats, cheese, yogurt, fruit, pastries, cereals, coffee/tea, juice. The owner makes the most delicious pastries with fruit, nut or chocolate filling! Dinners were delicious also, with some local specialties, pasta, meats, and a reasonable price. The owners spoke French and Italian, and just enough English to help us. They were very friendly, and helped us tremendously by shuttling our luggage down to the train station when we left.

We loved staying at Le Charaban, and would come there again. Some people might not like the location, because of its distance from the town center. We didn't have a car and used public transportation exclusively, which worked very well for us. The buses are cheap and easy to use. If you are not driving, you should be aware that the hotel is a 13 min. bus ride from the train station, well outside of the town center. If you want to be right in the thick of things, this is not the place. We wanted to be away from the city and its noise. Unfortunately, the hotel is right on the road going up into the mountains, so there is some traffic noise, but the traffic is not heavy. The windows are high quality double-paned, and keep the noise out. There is no air conditioning.

The staff was exceptionally nice, helpful and friendly. They are paying special attention to the guests and the feeling. The size of the room and bathroom are appropriate and big enough. The restaurant provides tasty foods for breakfast and dinner. Additionally the waiters assist in the selection and offer dishes. Probably this is the best hotel, where I have ever lived in my life. We spent 6 days here, but we plan to return next year.

Unfortunatelly the internet connection was a little bit slow.
