This was our last stop before heading to the airport at 5:00am. A huge celebration was happening so parking was nonexistent and driving was perilous on narrow streets with cars on both sides. Our host met us and graciously offered to drive the car to a garage. The next morning, it was quite a walk to get from our rooms to the garage with bags. It would have been extremely difficult to find this place on our own.
Rooms were lovely, architecturely interesting, and comfortable. The celebration looked like lots of fun, the town called for exploration, and our hosts were delightful--providing us immediately with a glass of wine and fresh cherries. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to enjoy all the goings-on as we needed to prepare for our flight home. The garage specially opened for us at 5am to allow us to get our car. The town seemed filled with gracious people. What we should have done really was get a nondescript hotel room near the Bari airport. I would love to spend more time here on a future visit.
