Property is lovely, very pretty, great views. Location in montepertuso village above Positano was great to escape the crowds. But it is still easy to access by bus in 20 mins. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful Great breakfast choices
Cannot think of anything!
Le Ghiande was like an oasis to come back to after an exciting day spent on the Amalfi Coast. The fact that is in Montepertuso is a huge advantage as it is so quiet and relaxing and has the best panoramic view over the sea. The people running this place are very kind and welcoming and just make you feel at home. A special thanks to Dimitri who was there at all times and makes the best capuccino. I can honestly say that this was the best vacation ever.
This place is unbelievable! The family who owns it is very friendly, they even organised a free of charge dinner/party for the guests. They take care of any small detail, amazing!
Everything was perfect Just the location is not right in Positano center, but there is a very convenient bus every hour
The ghest house is clean with a beautiful picture of the sea and landscape and the service provided by Dimitri was excelent. I recommend to stay in this place in Positano in terms of price and service.
Everything was just great: Salvatore, Dimitri, the breakfast, the view from the location and from the bed. It deserves the good reviews and we recommend if you want something picturesque. The 112 steps is nothing compare with what you get when you are there. So thank you Salvatore and Dimitri for the great moments.
The service could not have been better and the room and views are perfect. We enjoyed breakfast which had quite a good range of savoury and sweet options. I wouldn't recommend it for people that struggle with stairs though- we appreciated the exercise after all the food!
a nice place to stay when you want to discover the area around Positano. Take a car - easy to find parking place at Le Ghiande - and use the bus to enter Positano. Only 1.30 EUR one way and no headache about parking spots...
thanks to the people at Le Ghiande there is really NOTHING we did not like at our trip. PERFECT !!
Everithing was excellent. When returining to Amalfi Coast, definitely this will be the place where we'll be staying.
Amazing view from their B&B looking out over the amalfi coast. Service was fantastic and everything else too! We will come back to this paradise. xoxo Mikael & Moira
The hospitality and the pizza night with family and friends of the owner.
The views from the room, breakfast was really good , and the staff was ver y nice and friendly, good recommendations and info.
We stayed at Le Ghiande only two nights and did not want to leave. Salvatore, Dimitri and Carlo have a wonderful place up in the mountain. Getting there is a bit tricky if you are not used to Italian roads, but once up it is totally worth the effort. There are 100 steps to go in, but no worries, Dimitri will help with the bags :) The staff is great; they will make you feel at home and will help with everything they possibly can. We definitely want to go back there with family and friends
Nothing. Everything was great
The staff, view, location, breakfast, room.
Beds where a bit hard for our liking.
This B&B is pure heaven -- the best place we stayed in our 3+ week trip! Words cannot do justice to the panoramic views of the Mediterranean, the mountains, the gardens, the "hole in the rock". We especially enjoyed the quiet and solitude after the frenzy of the Sita bus, Positano, and Amalfi. Salvatore and Dmitry couldn't have been more helpful in recommending restaurants, hikes, and other activities. Rooms were clean, spacious, and well-constructed (everything worked, due to the construction skills of Salvatore and his father, who did the building/remodeling of the family home), and each had a large private terrace or balcony with THE VIEW. If you want to get away from the tourist frenzy of the Amalfi coast and enjoy nature's beauty, this is the place for you!
I have to mention the 115 steps you have to climb to reach Le Ghiande. It was no problem for us, and Dmitry helped with our luggage, but this B&B would not be appropriate for people with mobility problems.
Beautiful place, great location high above the bustling crowds down in Positano. Well worth the stair climb! The terrace in the room is so nice and relaxing with its fantastic view. The staff here is exceptionally friendly and accommodating; they all go the extra mile to help with anything you ask. I can't say enough nice things about the staff and how hard they work to make your stay as perfect as possible!
Incredible views. Quiet setting. Easy access to "path of the gods" and Positano. Salvatore and Dimitri were both incredibly friendly and helpful. Great family history to this converted estate.
I should have stayed longer.
We were met on our arrival by very friendly and helpful staff. They provided us with complimentary refreshments, and also provided detailed information about the geography of the area. Additionally, they advised us on public transport and other facilities serving the general area of Montepertuso.. For anyone wishing to have a nice quiet retreat for a few days you will not find a better place.!
Beautiful view, very nice owners, sunny terrace...
The views from the room are awesome. The location is perfect in order to start some hiking nearby. the breakfast is very good and tasty. there are good restaurants nearby. In general the room, the service and everything was very good and I recommend this B&B.
For me, everything was perfect. But you just need to take into consideration that you will probably need bus to move from and to Positano and be aware of the schedule. But as I said for me it was not problem.
Lovely setting-garden-balcony-views; informal contacts with owners; nearby restaurant La Tagliata; walking opportunities nearby (tough but worthwhile! And not only Sentieri degli Dei, alsof tot Santa Maria del Castello andere Positano)
Bed far too firm (the owner did provide soft blankets to increase comfort)
We really enjoyed our stay there. The hospitality of Salvatore and Dmitri was excellent. Special mention for the fabulous cakes and chocolate croissants. We hope to return soon. Akshay & Khushbu :-)
Le Ghiande was our last stay on our month-long tour of Italy...and it was the best! This is a family-run B&B, and we were treated with warm hospitality by Salvatore and his staff. They offered advice and were available to us. We also had the most amazing view of the Mediterranean! All rooms have private patios overlooking their beautiful gardens. Fresh fruit and croissants were served with our breakfasts. We have fond memories of our visit with Salvatore and Demitri and are anxious to return!
Well...I Guess I have to say the 115 steps up to the b & b was not my favorite experience! However, it is what avails us with the spectacular views when you reach the top! Plus, the staff carried our luggage- (very strong people!) So, I guess it's not too much of a negative! :)
Salvatore was an amazing host Bus picks up right out front of the B&B Great breakfast Amazing views Spacious room
100 steps up to the house It is a 20 minute bus ride from Positano
Hospitality of Salvatore and his family made our stay unique at the b&b. The many steps to reach the b&b with suitcases was no trouble at all, thanks to the excellent service of Dimitri. View, garden, size of rooms, terrace.... Perfect! I would return any time! I booked this place based on the high rating & lots of positive comments at booking.com. All of it I can confirm, it's a wonderful place of extraordinary friendly owners. Book & enjoy! Suggestion to travellers: Driving on de narrow, steep roads of the Amalfi region can be a nightmare, The whole Amalfi area incl this b&b, is well accessible with public transport, no need to hire/drive a car. Saves you a lot of hassle and parking fee, too.
Wifi worked fine in common areas only, not in our room.
Spent a week with a friend in this lovely b&b on the mountains. Enjoyed every moment, the peace and beauty. Magnificent view from the balcony. Nice, very clean room. Extremely helpful, friendly staff. Great breakfast with fresh fruits and freshly baked croissants etc. I would love to come back.
Hard to find anything we did not like. Only the bed: would have preferred separate beds :)
