Location was excellent There was no reception area and no room to store our bags on our last day there after checking out, but staff member Marcos kindly allowed us to stow our luggage in his apartment 2 minutes away after we emailed the hotel.
No reception; contact was via email, postit note or phone to staff only. Room was not as described; not in an opera theme. Also we were asked if we wanted two twines or one large double. We asked for double and got the twin beds pushed together. No direct natural light; our room had no window and the patio had a view of a locked barred door to a neighbouring patio whose room did have access to a balcony. The floor air con unit kept on leaking and the excess heat air tube was vented through out patio door which was left open. This didn't feel secure for us even though the barred door was locked; it looked easy to climb over. Also we kept receiving second hand smoke from the neighbouring lodgers which filled our room; we had to ask staff to keep our door (they were using the opened door to vent the air con waste air. There was also a dead pant pot outside our door with a mound of cigarette ends. We don't smoke and it was never emptied the whole time we were there. Bathtub and sink were dirty with grime and lime scale all over. Shower curtain was filthy and held by a third of its hooks; the rest had torn off. The shower head was not fully operational and the water pressure was extremely poor; the sink, toilet and shower were all watered by one feed so any use of more than one item meant next to no pressure at all. Our towels were thin and threadbare. Room came with fridge which was unplugged and hadn't been used for some time; it was not clean and smelt rotten when opened. The breakfast actually consisted of two individually packaged croissants and two biscuits, along with tea bags, sugar and coffee. The milk and juice was from the communal fridge used by three other rooms. It was topped up once and there wasn't exactly any fair usage of the contents. If you want to book this hotel then avoid the room without a door number, or as we guessed it; room number four.
Location and staff
The location of the room is perfect. We walked everywhere. The farthest walks were about a 20 minute leisurely stroll. The internet worked very well and the stone floor helped keep the place feeling clean.
The only gripe I had with this room was the bathroom. There was no place to put anything by the sink (there obviously had been a shelf at one point, but it was no longer there). The shower had good pressure, but there were only a few small streams of water that came out making it difficult to wash anything and it was somehow very difficult to not get what little water did come out from getting all over the bathroom floor. My husband suggested the two were related - the shower had little water to prevent the bathroom from completely flooding. Could be, but either way it was not pleasant!
Location is excellent - all sightseeings are in walking distance Very clean - spotless Had coffee machine and breakfast - complimentary
phone number that is provided as a contact number for the guest house was never reachable. no sound issolation: could hear the neighbours and outside nose from the kitchen in a neighbouring restaurant
No window, dusty, no wifi, I asked for a tween room with single beds twice and got a double bed which they agreed to change only next day
- NOISE from restaurant below - breakfast - service - price - shower - it is difficult to find
Position is great
I love the location of the place, it is not in the city center, but very near Vatican, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, and other interesting places in Rome. It is also near the bus stations, and some of Rome's most interesting restos and gourmet places. The owner is very nice and accommodating. This place is highly recommended for young travellers.
Location, very central in the center of Rome. Friendly staff. Spacious room.
There were coffee/tea making facilities, but no cups. No glasses in the bathroom either. It would help if there was a shelf in the shower. The soap/shampoo were not refurbished during our 4 night stay.
