The owners are very friendly and very helpful. They went out of their way to help us with luggage and with giving us information. They helped us make some phone calls for bike rental. The breakfasts they served were outstanding. The town of San Gimignano is beautiful.
The parking is a little inconvenient. You have to park in a lot that is just outside the little town, but it was just a short walk to the hotel.
The rooms were carefully decorated to create a comfortable homely feel whilst retaining the original features of the building. A true home from home. The host was always helpful and a pleasure to meet.
perhaps a kettle in the small kitchen of the suite.
breakfast was very nice rooms nicely decorated lovely owners
We liked this B&B from start to finish: the room, the attention from Gabriele and Sophia - superb! Definitely worth staying there.
Nothing. Loved it all
Gabrielle and Sophia are wonderful hosts at the Le Undici Lune. They attended nicely to all details; the room is nicely appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was ample and a very delicious Italian breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the quiet location made for great sleeping.
Some mornings the shower water could have been hotter. The stairs (two flights) could be a challenge for some people (though Gabrielle carried our luggage both in and out).
Gabriele and Sophia are the nicest nice people and their place is extraordinary and very special.
Can't say enough good things about our stay here. Gabrielle was amazing - informative, funny, friendly, helpful. The place was awesome. We loved everything about it.
very friendly owner (he gave good recommendation for dinner); lovely designed room
The room we stayed in was cosy and very clean. The decoration was really nice. Every detail is taken care of by the friendly staff. Gabrele was very helpful with his tips about restaurants and bars in San Gimignano. Breakfast was also a highlight.
It's hard to point out any drawback in this B&B. It only occurs to me that the place is poorly signposted. We had to ask a neighbour to find it. But this may be due to local regulations to keep this awesome medieval town free of excesive signs.
Spending the night in San Gim was a last minute decision, based on a conversation I had with a local on the bus to Siena. Luckily someone canceled their booking 10 minutes before I went online to find a room, as my previous attempts had failed to find anything. The attention to detail by the owners is nothing short of enchanting. I was welcomed as a single traveller and given helpful tips not only in this town but others I am going to. The owners are happy and enthusiastic about making your stay pleasant.
Excellent experience in San Gimignano. The owner was very nice tand gave great tips about the places around the hotel and the city. We liked the staff, breakfast and everything was very welcoming. We recommend it highly and want to go back!
The attention to detail. The level of cleanness. The friendliness and honesty of Gabriel and Sofia. The breakfast has been the best Italian style we have had ever in Italy. We are definitely coming back soon for a few weeks at Le undici. If any b&b was like this one, we would never stay at a hotels. The town is also magical and full of great restaurants and wines. Trust on Gabriel's comments.
Clean relaxed environment. Gabriele was a fabulous host recommending stunning restaurants and his assistance was 1st class. a professional operation.
There is something extremely special about this place. A 14th century building that has been restored with so much care, love and taste, and a welcome from the owners that makes you feel very much at home. It simply exudes calm and wellbeing. We loved lying under the ancient tiled roof, looking at the tremendous wooden beams, and our window gave us a wonderful view of San Gimignano's towers. The bed, room and bathroom were all extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was very varied, plentiful, and served with great attention and by the hosts. We felt like really special guests. A wonderful place, and only a short walk (admittedly uphill) from the car park, and an even shorter walk into the main piazzas.
This is most amazing place I have ever stayed in. We had just left the Cinque Terre with apartments the size of matchboxes , and then arrived at le Undici Lune , our suite with city view is unbelievably large with a huge lounge and bedroom. The decoration is amazing, a mixture of medieval, baroque, and romantic . But everywhere the attention to detail is unbelievable, petals on the bed, handwritten welcoming notes, and so much more- it is a exciting visual journey created by the fantastic hosts Gabriele and Sophia. Even the breakfast is totally amazing. It is easy to carry on giving praise, but look at the pictures of le Undici Lune on their website, read the reviews, be totally impressed, and stay there because you will remember the experience for the rest of your life
We liked everything
Central. Recommendations for restaurants and things we wanted to do were 100% spot on. Homely. Fantastic host. Authentic.
Booking.com said there was parking on site - there is no parking anywhere near the guesthouse. You park outside the city walls and walk in - won't necessarily suit older travellers.
Gabriele is a wonderful host.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful- there are steep and narrow stairs (two floors) so it's not easy to get upstairs with suitcases but help was at hand thankfully. The location is lovely, in that it's within the walls and on a quiet side road, but it is nigh on impossible to park nearby so be warned- you need to be able to get from the car parks 3 and 4 dragging cases to the hotel- it's not ideal so before you book, just be sure that you don't mind this! There were nice simple facilities, very clean, bottles of wine available in our room at a decent price as well so that was a nice touch. Breakfast IS included even though the site said it was room only- but it is pastries and bread mainly, which for me wasn't ideal- but if that's your idea of a good breakfast then it's a nice extra that wasn't expected.
It's a small thing but really, we weren't too fussed about having a pastry breakfast and wanted to go out and explore but the owners were really insistent, to the point where we felt obliged to sit while they brought breakfast to us in our room- I know they were trying to be hospitable so this might sound churlish BUT we just wanted to go out for the day - having breakfast in a B and B should be our choice! That's a minor quibble and other than that it was lovely.
The staff was one of the highlights of our stay. Very polite and helpful, there was no question they left unanswered and they also offered to help us with luggage etc. The hotel is nicely located in the old town and fairly close to one of the paying public parking lots. It's a couple of flights of stairs up a building, but nothing too much and the hall and rooms themselves are lovely! The bathroom was tiny, but otherwise the room was great! The breakfast was great as well. All in all, a great stay!
We had the apartment at the Le Undici Lune and it was wonderful! It was spacious, comfortable, clean and decorated very nicely. We felt like it was our own little Italian apartment! Gabriel and Sofia were gracious hosts. The location was excellent and the breakfast delicious
There are 39 steps to the B&B which was fine with us but may be hard for someone elderly
Gabriele was super helpful even before we arrived-replied to emails quickly and was very accommodating with any questions. The location is perfect. Smack bang in the central area but up a quiet side street so no noise at all. The B&B itself is gorgeous, up 2 steep flights of stone stairs (Gabriele insisted on carrying bags), into the main living area with the bedrooms leading off. Our room (the blue room) was immaculate and decorated with personal little touches. It also had a spectacular view of the bell towers... Gabriele gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner and was generally charming and very helpful with lots of tips and advice. Breakfast the next morning was pleasant; yoghurt, fruit, cereal, breads and baked cakes etc. We shared the table with 2 German couples and had a lovely breakfast before we departed and waved goodbye to Gabriele and Sophia. Lovely time.
The only downside was that there was no a/c and it did get a little warm in the room at night. But... We were kindly supplied with a fan in the room and it was a very hot September when we were there... It wouldn't stop us staying there again though. We'd definitely go back!
Charming, delightful, comfortable and homely - everything you could ask for in a B&B. Lovely hosts who couldn't be more helpful. Great location, close to everything that San Gimignano has to offer. Breakfast was fresh and ample - typical Italian sweet breakfast. Room was very clean and comfortable. No aircon but open windows for lovely breeze. Small bathroom but functional and clean.
Nothing. It was perfect.
Gabrielle really lives to cater - even booked restaurants for us on our journey further on to Florence! His energy and love for what he does is contageous!
We loved the rustic charm of the rooms and the friendly welcome we received from our charming host, Gabrielle. The rooms were at the top of a building along a quiet street and were well located in San Gimignano for restaurants, historic buildings and shops. We had a lovely breakfast at a shared table with other guests. These rooms were recommended to us for their charm and we are happy to recommend them to other people.
