Hotel Grand'Italia is right across from Padua Central Station, a short walk from the historic center. Built in 1909, it has an attractive Art-Nouveau design. Private rooms feature free Wi-Fi.
Score from 825 reviews Very good
Brilliant staff - very helpful Breakfast excellent Excellent funky design Great location Value for Money
Could have stayed longer in this wonderful city and excellent hotel
Fantastic staff. Great spa. Very close to town centre
The total hotel was unique I can say a lot about it but read the reviews , I suggest book it
Great position, but three of the rooms share the same balcony.. I woke up with a weird guy looking inside my room.. Not a pleasant feeling.., at all!
Spa and location
No where to sit if not in the room, dark hallways, modern decor but quite tight fit in places. The bathroom shower etc was very tiny
Position good Staff very helpful Bed and pillows comfortable Air con worked fine
Room -we had a sort of junior suite. Had no outlook - felt claustrophobic No glasses or plastic cups in room No safe although there was supposed to be one Had to find the caretaker after hours to get bottle of still mineral water as only fizzy in fridge Lighting over-clever Shower area/wet room - lacking in space to put toiletries bags anywhere so had to put on floor Wi-Fi annoying - only lasts 12 hours so next morning it had run out and had to ask for new access number
Central location, excellent full breakfast
Dark corridors and rooms with difficult to find light switches
room cramped and odd
A modernized interior design of the rooms
Airconditioning vents are directly blowing towards the occupants
The staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English.
I didn't like how there was not much advertisement as we got closer to the hotel. We passed the hotel twice before we decided to park the car and walk to find it. The hotel is not that easy to see from the road.
Good service, location and excellent breakfast. Safe storage for our bicycles.
Small room - dark furnishings, but in fairness we were only passing through and did not try any of the 'spa' facilities.
perfect location, perfect style, perfect personnel, perfect treatment, perfect atmosphere, perfect breakfast, perfect wine-list
Noisy, too hot, spa not included and expensive
the hotel is central.
The rooms are designed but not practical (designed sink with a hole in a front), no chest of drawers or storage, no room services. In addition, the bed contained bedbugs. For the staff, my colleagues and I got lot of issues in terms of overbooking, asking us to go to another hotel on the middle of the week, etc.
The staff is very friendly and the location is good after you discover where the hotel is. It is difficult to find it even with a GPS, as it is in a very narrow street in the city centre.
The room is noisy, you can ear the street noise and the noise from the other rooms as well. In my opinion the room is very dark as it is pained in brown, but that is just a personal preference. The beds are small as well and there is only intalian channels on the TV, you have to pay to watch other channels.
This is a boutique hotel; Only 7 or 9 bedrooms so the service is second to none. It's about quality not quantity! The location of this hotel is amazing...seconds away from Piazza Cavour in the heart of Padova and a few steps off the tram stop Ponte Romana. The breakfast buffet was such a surprise! Breakfast in Italian hotels can be poor but I can't say enough for the quality of breakfast; a table of the freshest sliced fruits from the nearby market; delicious pastries and even included a few things I've never seen before such as hot chocolate fondue and roasted nuts as toppings. The coffee was wonderful too! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly - all of them! We didn't get a chance to use the spa but it looked amazing;state of the art. Would stay ehe ahppliy aagin espeicially during the cold Italain winter! I'd love to be so close to all the shops and then pop back to the spa to heat up in the turkish spa!! My idea of heaven...
The decor and rooms are ultra modern; expensive fittings such as Antonio Lupi sinks but they are small ( like allot of city centre hotels) and lack comfort...we had a twin room and the beds were not very comfortable; they were fine but...I couldn't say the place oozes comfort! I stayed with my mum who is in her early 70's, so perhaps this coloured my view of it! Personally I like minimal style! Just to note, if you are going by car, contact the hotel for directions, as the hotel is so central it is in the ZTL car zonewhich is Zona Traffico Limitato i.e. you can't go threre unless you've a permit; perhaps the hotel have something in place. we got the tram from the train station which was sooo easy!!
The Spa is located in a very central and safe area of Padova. Beautiful building. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of local produce and a charming chef on hand to prepare eggs to your personal requirement.
The subdued lighting in the bedrooms was a little too subdued and although it was in line with the ambience the Spa creates, it proved to be a little frustrating.
Very modern and clean. Nice decor. Obliging staff. Great Location. Many restaurants and cafes nearby.
Price rather high.
very nice staff and ideallky located in the old city center, a few meters from all historical buildings and shopping streets
extremely difficult to reach hotel due to limited access to the historical city center
Well situated in Padua, clean, friendly staff, confortable room, good breakfast.
Very dark corridors, garish decoration, not very secure: anyone can walk in take an elevator to the bedroom floors and reception will not even know about it. Its a spa only in name, no spa facilities
Close proximity to city centre
No room service for a 4 star hotel....? Charged 70 euros to use the Spa when the Jacuzzi was cold and half of the showers didn't work. Bathroom obviously hadn't been cleaned from previous guests. Extremely overpriced for what they offered. Disappointed...
Location Staff attitude
Worst place I have stayed in! Overdesigned - the room did not work Too dark Too complicated lightning Uncomfortable door handles Room entry door knob perfectly placed to squeeze your fingers Wash basing so specially designed that water splashes on to your trousers when washing the hands Huge number of pillows (in leather) in the bed No chair at the desk. No wardrobe, no shelves for clothes Clothe hangers of various origin (steel wire and plastics) Pitch black bathroom Poor light over wash basin (difficult to shave) Entrance completely hidden and dark (The taxidriver had to lead me to the door like I was blind ) Hallways and stairs badly lit Light went on automatically but only when you already entered i.e. you cannot see where doors and hallways are located. No info in other languages than Italian, hard to find the breakfast room or even your way out of the hotel. No information about emergency exits. So much design that all function has gone missing. Worst place I have stayed in and I have been travelling the world in business since 1975, Nigeria, Cuba, Peru, Slovenia, Italy and 20 other countries!
I liked the location, very close to shops and cafes. Manager was very helpful.
Breakfast was poor.
- city center - interesting areas in walking distance
- hard to get to the hotel with car (limited/restricted access and lot of communication to get support from hotel staff) - breakfast was on average level (not equal to 4* standard)
Poor breakfast. Very dark, no daylight in the Hotel
