In Ravello, a 5-minute walk from the cathedral and main square, Albergo Garden has a restaurant with terrace and unbeatable sea views. Each room has its own balcony.
Score from 137 reviews Excellent
Set on the cliffs of Vietri sul Mare, La Lucertola offers modern rooms with balconies overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. Completely renovated, it features a private beach with bar.
Score from 209 reviews Good
Hotel Raito is on a hilltop with views of Salerno Bay and the Amalfi Coast. Near highway A3, it offers free parking and a free shuttle to Vietri and the beach.
Score from 145 reviews Very good
On the Amalfi Coast, the 4-star Hotel Panorama has a swimming pool on its terrace which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Its private beach is just across the street, 65 ft away.
Score from 322 reviews Very good
Location on Amalfi cost
Cargo - docks against the Hotel - dog'chance for sleep with open balkony - door ,very very noisy location in the nigh , no attractive look-see by the day
Close to Vietri and Other travel options
Very bad room cleaning, no attention to detail, actual coffee tea cups not replaced etc
The location was amazing, only stayed one night so didn't get to take advantage of all the hotel has to offer. Would stay there again
Liked the food/staff/aircon/wifi (but had to get a techie guy to get it working)/location/beach.
Having to pay to use the hotel's own beach! The lack of pool (though obviously was aware of that before arriving). Confusing layout. Lack of information (eg. changing location of dining room with no explanation or signage). Noise from shipyard, worse noise from beach bar music.
Nice place, private beach, wonderful sight. Upper level food and services.
Some hidden costs not clearly specified when reserving (e.g. beach). Wi-Fi was not available in our room all the time.
location, beach with chairs
Clean, friendly knowledgeable staff Great breakfast included!
Double the cost to access beach on last day!
The location is wonderful - a short taxi ride from the Salerno train station, the hotel is perched on a cliff overlooking the bay of Salerno and is a short walk to the small town of Vietri. It has a wonderful terrace that is perfect for a relaxing drink while gazing at the sea. A very pretty hotel, decorated with plenty of Vietri ceramic tiles.
The Wi-Fi signal is extremely weak and intermittent, so it's almost useless. There are disco parties near the beach (on Saturdays, at least) which go on till 4 am - extremely annoying if you're trying to sleep.
On arrival we were shown to out room which smelled very strongly of smoke. We went back to reception to request a room change which was done promptly and without any problems.
The 'sea' view was a view of Salerno docks which was not what we were expecting from a hotel on the Amalfi Coast. The docks was noisy and made sitting on the balcony not very appealing. The hotel has its own private beach but charges its own guests to use it! Overall the hotel is not bad but not good value for money. There are certainly places to stay in vietri which are better value for money with much better views.
The hotel itself was nice throughout corridors Breakfast good and catered for gluten free Meal for dinner in restaurant very nice and reasonable priced
Asked for sea view got it but mainly got port view which was terrible Wifi did not work most of the time Bed really hard Had to pay 5 euro to use the elevator to beach Room not very nice Had parking but attendant made us park in small space and had four wheel drive could not get out of space when we left
Location. Once you're off the train at Salerno, you don't want to travel much further, which is why the Lloyd's is in a naturally strategic position at Vietri. Its basically the first hotel you come to...There are 2 bus stops outside. Make sure you buy the local bus tickets (just 2 euros 30 to Amalfi, and not the all day tickets at 16 euros each.) Staff was friendly and efficient, and the breakfast buffet was nothing if not sumptuous..
There was a disco going on down on the ground floor outside; well. It was Saturday night, I suppose. Getting the geography of the huge hotel is challenging..you have to remember it's built onto a cliff, so reception is ground floor, and the rest is down. Our wifi didnt seem to work. However, by the time you've dragged yourself back from Positano, sunburned and tipsy, it probably won't matter..
Close to city centre. Elevator to the hotel was convenient.
Pillows on bed were much too hard. Breakfast room was very difficult to find.
The staff was helpful when needed. The room was nice and clean, but thank God we got it for a good price. Nice view (but to the port, not straight to the sea). Lovely balcony. Nice ride to the beach with an open elevator.
The staff was a bit... unhappy and grumpy. The "back side" of the hotel is a bit old and not so well-kept. Had higher expectations for breakfast, considering the 4 stars. Bit difficult with the parking, especially since we had a rental car and we wanted to know it was safe at all times. Limited spots, kind of crowded. You have to pay for the beach separately.
Great place to stay, what a view
rich buffet breakfast ,clean rooms.
Clean spacious rooms, nicely decorated, good climate control and balcony
Loud noises in room during early morning from activities in common rooms directly above; extremely loud music from group events and weekend beach disco. Harbor view was interesting but not pretty
Very nice view, Parking, Breakfast
Too much noise (24 hours) from the ships in the harbor. The slowest wifi ever. Need some fixes inside the rooms.
The lift for the beach wasn't working. There's a shuttle hotel-beach for 5EUR.
The staff were extremely helpful and polite, and we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was very comfortable and was as expected from home, the bath was extremely nice and decor exquisite for the area. Meals in the hotel are good, and offer a slight twist on the otherwise traditional Italian fare you get in nearby Vietri. I cannot fault this stay in any way.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The ocean view from the balcony was stunning. The restaurants were very nice as well
The menu selection was quite limited and the wi-fi did not work for 2 of the 3 days we were there. Not very convenient when you are away for business
People are friendly and the bedroom is clean.
The hotel is located near a nightclub. You can listen to music in bed like you're actually in the harbor, where the club is located. Photos can be misleading, once furniture and bathroom are not exactly new. The view is directly to the port of shipment. Wi-fi is not a reality in most rooms.Keep that in mind...
Vietri Sul Mare is within walking distance although it's up a hill so if you do have challenges it could be difficult. Amalfi Coast is always beautiful, of course. We enjoyed the pottery and ceramics throughout the hotel. Rooms and furniture are dated and kind of a mishmash though.
If you don't mind getting woken up early every morning then this is the place for you. We must have been on the floor which is under the restaurant, bar, lobby, conference rooms, etc. (an entire floor) and they'd start moving stuff around 6:00 am, dragging what sounded like tables and chairs all over the place. As well, there is construction on the beach and the hammering started at 7:00 am. The walls are also thin so you can hear everything, doors closing, people below/above/beside you. Just don't count on sleeping in during your holidays between the furniture moving (every single day) and construction. Staff, especially the girl at the front desk who checked us in, for the most part was unfriendly except for a few people. The remainder couldn't be bothered with us and chasing someone down to get a coffee in the morning didn't help us enjoy breakfast or feel welcome. Breakfast was okay, but depending on the amount of people there they'd run out of things and not refill them quickly, mostly because the wait staff was so busy trying to get everyone a coffee and there weren't very many wait staff available so it was a gong show. The variety was okay, but it would have been nice to have the bacon cooked better (not just 'warmed' and served) and have it kept hot. It was advertised that there was a private beach and access, but when we inquired about it we were told that it wasn't accessible while we were there, something I think that should be openly stated on the website as people coming and expecting a private beach with access will be very very disappointed. There was an issue with our tub and we needed someone to repair it. We were told 5 minutes, but they took over an hour to finally show up. I don't mind the length of time, but at least be honest about how long it's going to take. We also had a couple days where there was no hot water whatsoever, not something a good hotel should experience.
A big hotel with great views to the sea and Salerno bay and a convenient location. Great room with views to the sea. Vietri sul Mare is very beautiful and worth visiting on the tour to the Amalfi Coast.
nice view, nice facilities, excellent breakfast
noise from the port, noise from neighbouring room, a lot of cars around, bad accessibility to the beach
