We made a very special trip to this B&B based on some excellent reviews we had read about the food and hospitality, but were left feeling our time could have been spent better elsewhere. We arrived and had trouble entering the building as all the doors were locked - it was just after 17:00 and we felt this was an appropriate arrival time. The place seemed deserted. We finally saw a woman setting up tables in the restaurant and asked her for help. She was not very welcoming or friendly, but perhaps this was a language issue or because she does not normally welcome the guests (?). Dinner was fine, but nothing special. The local wines were the highlight. At dinner we were asked to pay for everything that night and let them know when we wanted breakfast, though I'm not sure why they needed the latter information since in the morning it appeared that everyone's breakfast was already laid out on all the tables (same for everyone: pastries, yogurt, fruit, cheese and meat plate) and there was no staff present. When we left in the morning after breakfast we did not see or interact with any staff, which seemed very strange for a small bed & breakfast where I typically expect warm, personal hospitality. We weren't even sure where to leave our room key. Also, our room was very hot and the a/c could not be adjusted and there was no fan (admittedly we did not ask anyone about this, though, so perhaps they would have fixed it for us). All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Too bad, really.
The location and view from the garden are lovely. The local wines we tried in the restaurant were delicious.
