We stayed 3 nights. Made very welcome on arrival with complimentary coffee (and throughout our stay). Our room (203) was compact but had everything needed, was quiet and with a large comfortable bed. Location is good for walking to sights and getting water taxi. Nice breakfast with plenty of choice.
Can't really fault it.
The hotel was conveniently located in between the train station and the main sightseeing spots so it was easy to walk wherever necessary. The guy who checked us in was very helpful in recommending places to eat. Complimentary water. Value would be excellent if not for the negatives below...
Room wasn't ready on time, empty minibar, poor breakfast selection, and no wifi in the room despite being advertised as such. Worst though was that the shower in our room wasn't working properly and suddenly expelled extremely hot steam which burned by husband's foot so badly that he couldn't walk properly for the rest of the day. The staff wasn't at all apologetic for this.
Wonderful staff and ambiance - all were so helpful, gracious and friendly - Diego and Fabio were remarkable. Rooms were perfect, as was all service and breakfast, and the location was great - definitely on my return list!
the place , the style, the staff friendliness - outstanding
small technical issues - shower doors not closing, room temperature control switches broken, so no temperature control possible, heating not working
Service Possibility to sleep with children on one room: excellent! Perfect location Good breakfast
All of it. Comfortable room. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast.
We enjoyed the breakfast and the service. The location was also excellent and they sent us to a couple great restaurants. We were about 20 minutes from the train station and close to a canal ferry stop. Great shops in the area also. Also there were lots of stairs which we didn't mind, but could be a big problem for others. We were on the 4th floor of the older building and no lift. They took our luggage up but we still had to deal with it going up one floor to reception for check in, and then leaving. I would advise only one going up to check in if possible and leave the other one at ground level with the luggage. Of course this depends which building you are booked into but you could inquire ahead. Finding it on foot was pretty easy from the ferry drop off and if you head in the general direction you can always ask someone. The signage for it is not large but the name is on the wall overlooking the canal.
I had cold showers on two days of the 3 that we stayed there. We did shower later and my early shower day was no problem.
Diego was very fun and energetic a true pleasure to be around. The rest of the staff was very nice and helpful but we did not interact with them as much. The room had both a canal and plaza view.
A lot of stairs.
Although the room was so tiny as a single bedroom, comfortable with excellent decoration. Gorgeous breakfast. Friendly and professional staff.
This place is everything. The location was excellent. Right on a popular road. The service was VERY friendly. Diego and Raphael were excellent. Our view from our suite was superb. The room is true Venetian style with fabric draped walls and beautiful floors.
The shower leaked because the door wouldn't close all the way. The toilet felt it was going to break every time we sat on it because it is connected directly to the wall and does not sit on a pedestal. There's is no elevator and we had the top floor so be prepared for stairs but honestly if you are familiar with Italy there are stairs everywhere so it shouldn't be too hard to get used to. The coffee maker inside the room was a bit dusty so we stayed away from it.
We loved the location, central to all sights in Venezia but far enough away from the ultra busy Piazza San Marco. The room was clean and cosy for our family and served as an excellent base to explore from.
The beds were quite hard but that is normal for Italy.
Location. Excellent staff. Breakfast.
Room too small. Bed uncomfortable - pillows awful. Shower did not function properly.
Location, only 3 water bus stops to the main station, supermarket near by, alot of shops around. Staff in reception are so kind and helpful
Breakfast could me better, but its not that bad
Very helpful and friendly staff. Very good location. Good breakfast spread. Room was a bit small for 3 of us. Over good experience and highly recommended .
wifi didnot work in the room but was available in the lobby
We really liked the very accommodating staff at Ca'Gottardi. Fabio, Raphael, Diego, Matteo, and Valentina made us feel very welcome. Diego provided a wonderful list of restaurants for dinner. Raphael made each complimentary breakfast a delightful experience and provided a delicious assortment of food. The location of Ca'Gottardi is excellent.
At times our cell service wasn't available. However, when that happened Valentina offered the use of her phone so we could check on our puppy, who had become ill.
The staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived at the canal entrance by taxi and invited us to have coffee while we checked in - which took a while as we were a group of 11. We arrived just after midday, but they were happy to let us have our rooms then. The decor is charming, a mixture of traditional and modern, but all well-maintained. Buffet breakfast was good and the staff always served us with a smile - nothing seemed to be too much trouble - all in all we were delighted with our choice!
Mom and I had a very fun and relaxing visit to Venice, thanks in large part to the warm, friendly, responsive staff at Ca' Gottardi. Venice was our fourth city in seven days so we arrived tired and stressed from traveling. The receptionist immediately put us at ease with her warm welcome. She heard or saw us from a floor above where the reception area is, and calmly, quickly, and happily came down the stairs to street level to greet us and help us carry our three suitcases upstairs to the check-in area (N.B., there are no elevators/lifts, but the staff really will help bring your items up). Check-in was smooth and fast. She guided us to a beautifully decorated and spacious room (100) which overlooked one of the canals and part of the Strada Nuova. Great view and place for people-watching. Great location! Food-wise, the receptionist suggested several nearby restaurants (I loved my meal at Vini da Gigio!), there are many others within a 1-5 minute walk, and Billa grocery store is across the street/bridge from Ca Gottardi. The entire time we stayed (3 days, 2 nights) we felt like the staff sincerely wanted to help us enjoy our visit to Venice. They answered questions promptly and fully, whether it was various suggestions for dining, waterbus transportation, siteseeing, and so forth. There is a coffee maker/kettle (pods!) in your room, but they will also happily custom-craft a fresh cuppa for you in the lounge/reception area where other juices and nibbles are always available, too. Our room included breakfast which had diverse offerings in the reception/lounge area, again with custom coffee beverages and hot chocolate if you wish. By the way, at breakfast, remember to turn on the timer at the egg boiling machine or else you will get neither soft nor hard-boiled eggs, as my mother learned.
Our stay at Ca' Gottardi and in Venice was way too short.
Lovely staff Excellent location
Room size very small
Location-and very easy to find Very friendly staff Great breakfast
Bedroom very close to reception and dining area so could hear lots of noise late at night and early morning
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. My room was clean, very pleasant and there were nice little touches like chocolates and weather forecasts left on your bed. The included breakfast (and cappucino's) were excellent. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel. Especially for the price and location! Wonderful stay, would definitely return.
Nothing, stay was great.
We stayed for a week. The friendliness of the staff and their attention to detail also added to the beautiful surroundings. Great location, great breakfast!
If you're looking for the quaint elegance in a great location with impeccable customer service, this is for you. The staff Raoul, Fabio and Diego attended to your every detail, always helpful and willing to extend above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. It was sinfully wonderful. Only negative was that my stay was TOO short#
Hallways and staircases of mansions in that era were narrow, making luggage maneuvering difficult at times. Staff was always readily available to step in and take over. Thanks again
Nothing too much trouble for all the staff, very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and a good selection. Excellent location for seeing all the sights and restaurants.
Poor wifi was disappointing
- right on the main tourist mile and in the middle of things - nice people!

Room was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. We left my daughters shoe there and when I emailed they kept it safe for me to fetch a week later. The breakfast was very good. A nice central location, walking distance to everything.
Shower flooded the bathroom each time we used it.
