House in a 17th-century building with views of Venice, Casa del Rio offers rooms in the Cannaregio area. Free WiFi is available. All rooms feature air conditioning and a flat-screen TV.
Score from 12 reviews Very good
There for only 2 days. While by no means picturesque, my wife thought it 'original, romantic renaissance' - inside and out. Near to everything that mattered. Clean, quiet and very comfortable.
As it is hidden in a quaint little alley not 5 minutes from St Marks, instructions to find need to be far more precise. Despite using a GPS to walk from the nearest ferry bus - only some 3 or 400 yards - we felt totally lost until we finally walked into it.
No breakfast. Very cold in the rooms. The bathroom is not really clean.
Just a short walk from St. Mark's Square and a vaporetto stop, this small hotel, once you find it, is in a good location for visiting Venice. The rooms are very basic, but completely adequate for the undemanding traveler looking for a good value.
The street on whiich the hotel is located is so small you need a very detailed map or GPS to find it. We loved the charm of it, however. The front desk is staffed only a couple of hours a day, so you are pretty much on your own.
The rooms are not super big , but non of European rooms are . We didn't have breakfast but we bought fruit from fruit stands , yougurt from market & pastries from shops . The rooms are clean , private bathroom is clean with fresh towels etc each day . Air conditioning was nice . The location is very close to St Marks square & plenty of restaurants & shopping . Awesome stay in Venice , we would definantly stay again :))
Amazing location, 2mins walk from San Marco square. Is a little hard to find, best way we found was to get off the boat at San Marco square, go into square and take a right, follow path, when u come to a sort of triangle area take a left, was up until you can go left again, follow down and you should see it on your right. Would definately stay here again!! Rooms were clean and very big!! Easy access to everything and is amazing value for money Had a wonderful stay
Is breakfast included or not - mismatch between web advertisment and reality.
Great location - near Canal Boat stop. Easy access to shops, restaurants, banks, markets, pharmacies.
Small bathroom and shower - hard to bend over to wash legs and feet.
It was close to St Marks square, restaurants, shops and a vaporetto station. The owner was pleasant enough.
Mosquitoes and no fly wire screen. Dead mosquitoes squashed on roof and walls. Shower door and rose broken. Curtain rail kept falling down. The bed was really hard. Didn't change our sheets or towels once.
Location and friendly staff
Breakfast could be better
Nice and authentic room
Quite hard to find, like almost everything in Venezia
Great location, value for money mix up over if breakfast was included but agreed for us to have it.
No one on reception after 11.00am
Friendly staff, good breakfast and great location.
Air conditioner is centrally controlled and turned off at night, so it got very warm and stuffy.
Excellent location, extremely close to Piazza San Marco. Quiet area, clean and large rooms, helpful staff.
Bathroom is a bit too small
Location, 5 minutes from San Marco square. despite that it was very difficult to find it. It took us about half an hour. friendly staff
Breakfast is very (very) poor. Toasts, cereals with milk, and tea/coffee. That's it. bathroom facilities are dirty, there was a problem in water sewage in shower. the room itself is very tiny. No room even for exercise:((
Location is perfect. You couldn't ask for a better location. Fairly clean. Staff was helpful.
Tricky to find. The shower did not drain well so the floor was inches deep within 30 seconds.
Central location Great staff
Great location within 5 min walk to plaza and Basillica. Lots of food options near by. Very clean and well run. Right near water taxi stop.
Great location, close to San Marcos square and Doges Palace.
Hard pillows, a bit noisy with what seemed to be a restaurant just below us.
-spacious bedroom and bathroom - staff is nice - not far from the city centre
-not so clean inc. the bed sheets and the floor - no air conditioner--so we have to open the window all night so we can smell something from outside, not good during summer
Although the hotel was a bit difficult to find, once there it turned out to be quite convenient. The room was unusually large for Venice.
The breakfast was unusually skimpy and unappetizing. We live in Italy and know what is usual, and this breakfast was well below the usual standard.
Close to St. Mark's square and the water bus stations.
Not very hospitable. No reception on duty unless they knew the time you were arriving. Not enough bathroom supplies and no one around to assist you. Not a very welcoming entry. No lift to assist with heavy luggage to the second floor. No one on duty for check out. The picture on Booking.com is misleading as the rooms are old and not well maintained. Bathroom shower needs replacing in the room we stayed in.
It felt like a home morethan just a hotel
Good staff there. WIFI is good. It is easier to find the hotel when ask the locals working in the bar around. Breakfast is good.
Not very clean in the bed. Found some hair in the bed.
