Restaurant food excellent Restaurant u would not choose. Very old French style, seen better days.
The hotel very old but with some charm,
The hotel had a pretty park next to it.
Our room was dirty and smelly and very hot. We spent a most uncomfortable couple of nights there and had hardly any sleep at all. The wifi was impossible to get in our room, we could only get it in the lobby.
Excellent food, staff were very helpful and the gardens behind the residence were fantastic . Don't be deceived when first driving in. A real Italian Classic.
Big Park with Playground, Castle like Building very nice from outside, but needs some refurbishment from inside. Rooms in the Tower good size with big windows and Park-View, but close to shabby. Mattress was good and i slept very well. The Restaurant was against my suspicion VERY good. I liked my Lasagne and the Beef-Filet very much and the Panna Cotta made the impression that it was homemade. Really very good, especially for the price (Menu with Wine 23 EUR)
Needs at least a proper cleaning but actually some real maintanance. (Socket next to the Bed came off when i wanted to deplug my charger, Bathroom with mold in shower and curtains and so on...). Staff very nice, but speaks just italian and a bit french. English should be at least understood. The surrounding (besides the Park) is all a bit rundown. Access to the Parking directly at the Hotel is tricky, with a big car might be very hard.
Space in Rooms Area around the hotel (Parc...)
The facility was comfortable and clean and as you would expect for the price. The adjacent park with walking trails and a playground was a bonus for our kids to get out of the car and play! There is a private parking area which is great for security. The restaurant on premises is wonderful to not have to drive and find someplace to eat.
It is difficult to find. You drive up a very steep driveway that has a gate at the top. There is a sign at the bottom so be looking!
The hotel overlooks a very scenic park, staff are nice and the tower room was very bright and spacious. It had a wonderful view. Parking was free, there were shops close by. The price was reasonable for Genova.
First room was small and had almost no light. We changed it with a tower room which would have been very nice had it not been for the mould which was to be seen or smelt on the walls behind the bed, in the corners and on the ceiling. In fact, the whole room smelt of something very bad and we ended up sleeping with a window wide open because the smell was so strong. It was inconvenient, my son got a cold and it made our stay at the hotel generally unpleasant.
In toilet in need of repair!
An interesting building though location difficult to find and not lit, but asked several people for directions and they all knew it. Very comfortable room. Did not eat there, but the kitchen looked good, imagine it's nice.
Two of the three staff I met, though all polite, seemed distracted and it felt a little impersonal, but this is just a quibble, and the important thing, a comfortable quiet night in a pleasant location was provided.
Girl checking us in was helpful and spoke good English
Hotel needs updating. I think this is being done with new owners. Breakfast not good. Need extra signage for arrival by car.
Enjoyed a special gourmet evening on our first night, Saturday. Good restaurant & excellent breakfasts. Drive into Genoa & park at marina for Sunday market. Hotel is set in park with long walks & a central lake. Older style which made a change from the ultra moderns we stayed at on this trip.
