Huge, warm, very cheap room in an old fashioned italian style, nice wooden furniture, cotto tile floor, comfortable bed, efficient private services. Amazing position in a quiet and typical street, few blocks from the station and the historical center. We had very good breakfast, with a lot of choice between sweets, ham, eggs, yogurt, very good bread and whatever we might need.
Unfortunately after some hour we had to leave the room because of some general problem on the water system of the whole building (a very old one). The staff was very sorry and kindly allowed us to choose an even better room in the 3 star hotel in the front.
Friendly staff. Location near train station. Big room for us, a family of 4.
No elevator, luckily the room is on the 2nd flr. Room lighting a bit dark. Beds are too soft for our liking. Building has cigarettes smell, but inside the room is ok.
Friendly staff, great location and a really comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended.
Helpful staff, clean rooms, wonderful location, nice breakfast offerings and the price was right. We booked our room blindly, during our layover on the way to Florence, and it could have been really good or a total nightmare. Needless to say, we extended our one one stay another 7 nights. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for ease of comfort, accessibility and a quiet nights sleep. Will definitely check back when we return!
Hotel is located directly in the city center.
Very bad value for the money. I paid 99 euro and the room was not worth it. Air condition was not working (it was a very old standalone machine). Don't even consider staying there for more than one night.
Close to shops
WiFi was requested & stated that they had it but wasn't available
great position, near to the main attractions
Good location and maintained facility. Everything was clean and they cleaned the room everyday with fresh towels.
I booked a Quadruple and a Triple room. Just the double beds were good. The single beds were either sofa beds or make shift ones which was very uncomfortable. Does not mention in the booking as well. The bathroom for the Triple room was outside which again was not mentioned and was very inconvenient. I prefer everything to be transparent and told upfront.
Friendly staff,good location, good room
Noisy Airco system, breakfast is a little poor.
I liked the place near to the center, too much space in the room, good view.
I didnt like that fact,we should leave the place early in the morning and we organized the breakfast earlier, but when we came as we decided, nobody prepared the breakfast for us,only coffee.
location and breakfast
The facility is pretty old. Especially the bed is really uncomfortable. Quite noisy during the nights. No lift. Even though we lived on the second floor, we need to climb heaps of stairs. It is a LONG WALK!
Everything! Rooms are very spacious and clean. Bathroom up to standards and new. Very boutique and authentic! Just loved it!
The location is great: close to the station and the center, so that we could walk all the time. The room was good with a spacious bathroom. The breakfast was also good.
Nearly nothing to report.
Location, oldfasion rooms with vintage furniture, breakfast
Poor internet connection
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Location - easy to travel to the busier parts of the city. Tram stop is just around the corner. Transferring from the tram to the subway is easy. Easy to get to from either train station. Breakfast was very good. Would stay again.
Traveled around Italy week of March 17. This hotel is only a few blocks from the hotel, it’s an easy 10 minute walk from the station. From the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station, head out to the east exit. Cross the street, and walk to the left. Turn right on the first street and Villa Faenza is the dead end street ahead, turn right and look for the address. The reception desk is across the street, in an old building. When we got there, the receptionist was very helpful and gave us a quick orientation. Instead of staying at the Locanda across the street, she gave us a room in the building where the reception desk is. Do not be worried about the old façade and lobby – this is typical of small budget hotels in this area. The room we were assigned to was located on the second floor, and the rooms are newly refurbished and very clean. They had free wi fi and breakfast was served at the ground floor area. It consisted of bread, cheese, yogurt, some spreads and jams, coffee and tea. It was varied enough and very good value for the price you pay for your stay. The hotel’s location is perfect for sightseeing and shopping – near enough the major churches and museums, the high street, and Mercato Centrale where the open air leather goods market was also located. Locals were very helpful, except for the Mandarin Duck sales staff in the store located near the Duomo, where staff was rude and did not want their merchandise touched. The hotel allows you to leave your bags for as long as you like while sightseeing, they had a small bag closet where luggage can be kept after checking out in the morning. We had a late afternoon train to catch for Venice, so after checking out in the morning, we came back to the hotel and collected our luggage after our day’s sightseeing. Staff are young, helpful, and can speak good English. They can also provide you with directions for sightseeing complete with a friendly smile.
very difficult to find the hotel, only with a tiny card at the entrance gate to show you to check in and ask for the key in ANOTHER hotel.
The room was spacious and very neat. The breakfast was large and varied.
