Score from 1045 reviews Excellent
Set in a 13th-century building, Hotel Alma Domus offers rooms in the historic centre of Siena, a 2-minute walk from Basilica Cateriniana San Domenico Church.
Score from 537 reviews Very good
The aesthetics of the place were high, the personnel helpful and the included breakfast very rich. The place was an historic building and they have kept its character. Also the room, 101, was really spacious and warm
The free WiFi was for limited time
Towels, plenty of them, which was nice. Um, that's about it. Not atypical of hotels advertised online is that you don't get what you think, but deal with it. Was it the worst place, no. Would it be memorable, no.
View of nothing but another wall of a building and noise from the street. WiFi knocks you off when you close your device so you have to add this endless password over and over. Bed was a rock. Breakfast was packaged stuff. Again, nice people but that's about it. And no, they don't meet you or help you from the bus or train.. so get a taxi or walk...
Close to the Campo
Tired decor Poor room facilities
Very central. comfortable, good breakfast. Staff are helpful and speak English, in Italy not always the case!
The rooms need some refreshing, maybe an interior designer should have a look how to make best use of the old wallpaintings etc.
View from the rooms The reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable Local restaurants were fantastic the receptionist can offer some good recommendations Sienna during the build up to Il Palio is a wonderful experience. The drums start early in the morning so don't expect to sleep in.
The lift is too small for a lot of bags - what you would expect in such an old building
Good location in center of walled city, moderately priced, fine for the one night we stayed there
Impossibly hard to find, map & directions didn't work, we circled for half hour trying to find, room was ok but nothing like the pictures, breakfast staff person rude, but very reasonably priced for location, fine for our quick night stay but felt more like a hostel.
Nice location and very nice view
Close enough to the main attractions. Breakfast ok.
Room very small so not much room to put things. If coming by train be aware it's a 10 euro taxi fair each way, or a long walk.
Great location just down from piazza de campo. Right in the heart of everything. Easy walking to all major sights. Rooms 401 and 402 have stunning views.
If you arrive by train, splurge and grab a cab. Less than 12 euros and well worth it till you get the lay of the land.
The receptionist was very helpful, printing off bus timetables, recommending restaurants and supplying us with a map of the local area. The location was great - not right next to the campo piazza but only a 5 minute walk away. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was a good standard.
Nothing - we enjoyed our stay.
Everything was perfect from the room all the way to the staff. Great experience would stay again!
