Beautiful house & garden with fine restaurant in garden
Not so easy to find. Owner should describe where to park & how to find on booking.com and on own website.
Michele, Fabio and the Swedish girl were all amazing hosts for us. They were always very helpful and we felt very welcome there. The value we paid was fair, given all the nice things we had there. A lovely place!
We didn't get to make the wi-fi work, which is our only complaint.
Room and history excellent host with great advice and location to explore the temples. Parking easy and simple to find.
Nothing to dislike
Very very helpful manager Michael who went out of his way to get us quickly to the Archaeological Museum and Bus Station, nothing was too much trouble. He is a great source of local information. Recommend the restaurant across the garden (where breakfast is also served).
This was a great stay in Agrigento. Our host (Dorothea) was very informative and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great (close to excellent restaurants, Valley of the Temples). I would highly recommend it.
It was a bit hard to see the sign from the street (we drove by it a couple of times), but this was a minor inconvenience that was corrected by calling our host who guided us to a nearby parking place.
Breakfast was excellent.
I had intentionally booked the quad room with a balcony for my friend and myself so that we would have ample space and a bit of privacy. When we arrived we were told by Michele that he had given the room to a family from Yorkshire because he had seen we were 2 people and thought that we had made an error (which would be hard to do with booking.com as room descriptions are very clear as is the price difference between a double and a quad room). He apologized and said he made a mistake. He first tried to give us one double room and then after some discussion gave us two rooms both on the ground floor, one a dark dank room in the back, the other adjacent to the terrace (which I took). Michele's voice woke me from a nap-- he was discussing booking.com ratings with another guest, trying to get the guest to give the hotel a good rating. The rooms were nothing special-- decor in both was dated and there was little room to maneuver. Out of all of the places we stayed at in Sicily, this was the only disappointment.
Michele was very approachable and friendly as soon as we met on arrival. The location from the train station could not be better and the room was very comfortable indeed. The breakfast spread was great and I really didn't expect to have such a good espresso with it as well. I would highly recommend this B&B
The shower was a little small for my liking but was fine during our stay.
This is a great location. A short drive to the Valley of the Temples but only a short walk to the historical centre and restaurants. Parking is close by. The rooms are clean, spacious and have a sense of literary history. Hosts are very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful. The restaurant on the same site provides the best meal in Agrigento - Erika who waited table was informative, helpful and made the evening. This b&b is a perfect base for Agrigento.
style of the villa
the window of our room was 3 meter high that we felt a bit closed
General setting was an oasis amidst the city's high-rise
A struggle to find it in one-way system at peak time
Good location, easy parking in public car park in the street above the b&b (with broken meter when we were there, so free, otherwise cheap). The garden is a lovely spot to sit and have breakfast. Friendly owners, welcoming and helpful. An easy walk into town for dinner.
The ramp down to the b&b is a bit steep but better than stairs as you can roll your luggage.
Located in a beautiful villa this B&B is a perfect spot in Agrigento. The owner is very helpful. Great B&B in a beautiful city.
My husband and I enjoyed the garden and the location was good.
The room we stayed in was not at all like the others. Ours was a basement room with no accessible window which backed right up on the noisy restaurant. If I had realized that our room would be so unpleasant, I would have called in advance to reserve one in the front of the building or I would have stayed somewhere else. I guess I feel a bit mislead.
Very pleasant host, room was adequate and clean. Breakfast was ok and parking is nearby
Everything was fantastic.
The space and calmness of the location. The nearby restaurant. The excellent staff.
A double bed isn't the same as 2 single beds next to each other. It should be made more clear that check-in time is between 4:00 and 7:00pm.
A lovely setting, with a pretty garden, surprisingly quiet. Very comfortable bed. Good food at the onsite restaurant. Helpful information about Jardiniere and temples etc., and a lift to same.
The bedside lights didn't work
Everything about our stay at this Villa was great. The location, the grounds. the hostess, the breakfast. The Villa is a beautiful building, secluded from the busy streets in the heart of the city with an amazing garden with a restaurant right in the heart of the garden. Great diner & fantastic breakfast, fresh pasteries. We'd stay again for sure.
Small difficulty to bring down the baggage from our car because the parking is outside of the premises. Mosquito repellent would be good to supply in the rooms
It is a lovely villa with a beautiful garden. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast is mainly sweet (typical Italian) we loved the cornetto and cannoli and everything.
Honestly nothing! It was a perfect b@b
Villa Pirandello is a wonderful B&B. It is an oasis in the hectic town of Agrigento. It is an easy drive to the Valley of the Temples and walking distance to the historic centre but is quiet and surrounded by a delightful garden. It is the first place in the world where we have stayed where proper coffee is served with breakfast. The managers are very helpful and went out of their way to assist us when we had an issue with our hire car. One night we ate at the restaurant on site and had one of the best meals we have had in Sicily. We thoroughly recommend Villa Pirandello if you you are staying in Agrigento.
Nothing to dislike.
Excellent staff. Take you in as though you are family and take care of all your needs. Owner, Michele, went out of his way to make sure that we had a wonderful stay. He personally drove us to see the Valley of the Temples by night. Also, spoke to a Doctor on behalf of my husband, and then drove us to pharmacy to get prescriptions.
Staff was outstanding--we really felt welcomed by our host. We received great recommendations for restaurants, a beach, and the best times to see the Valley of the Temples. He was very passionate about Agrigento and making sure guests experienced all they could. The adjacent restaurant is an excellent choice for dinner.
Pillows were somewhat thin for side sleeping. Breakfast was very good quality with new choices each day, but was only offered between 8:30-9:30am.
Central location, easy to find, nice garden and terrace, good wifi, historic house, excellent breakfast and restaurant on premises. Quiet room.
Steep ramp pedestrian accesss from street, cramped bathroom.
Our room had access to an outdoor patio that was a very pleasant place to relax.
Directions about where to park were confusing to us. Breakfast was pretty basic.
