Fantastic place, would definitely recommend. The hotel is located some 4 Kms from Greve, which is not a problem as very quiet. There are no other restaurants nearby however, no need to look further - the restaurant at locanda was brilliant, after travelling for several weeks, I can assure you it will be difficult to find better. Well priced, tasty - top quality. Hotel owner very helpful.

We were in Italy for nearly a month, stayed in some 4 stars hotels, but the 5 days spent at Locanda Il Gallo were the best of our trip. We made sure we came back from our excursions to have dinner there and it was always absolutely delicious. Alessio, the owner, helped us with the wine recommendations, and with any question we had or advice for our trip. What a sweet, helpful, and kind man! Great sense of humor as well, and very knowledgeable. The hotel is spotless and pleasant. The bus to Florence, a 40 minute ride, stops in front of the hotel. The hotel is a short ride to Sienna and a perfect place from which to visit the Chianti region. We left with much regret. When again in Italy we will make it a point to return there.

The owner was lovely and the food was amazing. I had been trying to learn Italian and he was most helpful and patient. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean and I had the best might sleep of my trip in Italy. The location was quite central, however you would really need a car if you are staying here. There are wineries around, however the food was so good at the restaurant downstairs, we had dinner there every night. The owner is also quite knowledgeable about wine and the local area, so was very informative. Would definitely recommend this place as a home away from home.

We didn't find it a problem, but if you are a light sleeper you may want one of the back rooms, as the front rooms are next to the road. Having said that, the front rooms have a nice view!

This hotel is a real gem. It is some 4 or 5 miles out of Greve on the road to Firenza. The room and en-suite facilities were of very good size, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel is right on the road, but with outer wooden shutters, double glazing, inner wooden shutters and effective air conditioning the noise is no problem. The Locando is family run and the patron (who speaks several languages including English) could not have been more helpful. He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being too familiar. The meals were of a very high standard and the wine list contained more Chiantis than I knew existed! This is an ideal centre for touring Tuscany and if driving is not your thing the buses to Firenza and Siena stop outside the hotel. 10 out of 10.

Thought it was near greve center but not, impossible to get anywhere without car.

Posizione dell'hotel - a due passi da Greve in Chianti e da Strada in Chianti. Stanze semplici ma pulite. Possibilità di parcheggio gratuito di fronte all'hotel.

Non ho critiche particolari, mi sono trovato benissimo. A trovare il pelo nell'uovo, i mobili sono un po' datati.

Pulizia, doppie finestre (no rumore strada), cortesia proprietari, ma soprattutto rapporto qualità/prezzo

Ristorante non clamoroso (per la zona): cibo buono ma sala piccola e buia.

Ein kleines, von außen unauffälliges Hotel vom Feinsten. Das Personal ist überaus aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Der Inhaber hat uns sogar über seinen privaten Laptop ermöglicht das Championsleague-Spiel anzusehen. Ebenso setzte er sich mit einem Weingut telefonisch in Verbindung um uns dort eine Weinverkostung und -Einkauf zu ermöglichen. Die Bushaltestelle nach Florenz befand sich direkt vor dem Hotel und war perfekt für Ausflüge ohne Auto in die Stadt. Gegenüber des Hotels befanden sich genügend hoteleigene Parkplätze. Das Zimmer sowie die sanitären Einrichtungen waren blitzsauber!!! Die eigentlichen Highlights waren die Speisen und die wunderbare Auswahl der Weine am Abend. Ein kleiner und feiner Gourmettempel! Ein echter Geheimtipp im Chianti.

Tudo! As instalações são excelentes, uma proposta de pequeno hotel com conforto, um atendimento excelente e uma cozinha fenomenal! O dono Alecio é uma simpatia e seu filho o Chef maravilhoso: sabores e vinhos divinos. Recomendo a todos que queiram desfrutar da Toscana.

Camere grandi ed accoglienti, con molto stile. Cucina perfetta... non perdete la colazione con il pane ed i dolci fatti in casa

Les proprietaires sont tres aimables et aux petits soins pour les clients. L'hotel est calme et les chambres sont spacieuses. Nous avions une petite terrasse privative tres appreciee en soiree. La literie est de tres bonne qualite. Le restaurant est vraiment excellent. Nous qui aimons souvent changer de restaurant, nous avons pris tous nos repas du soir a l'hotel tellement c'etait bon. Le patron fait le service en salle avec efficacite, gentillesse et attention. Les clients disposent d'un parking reserve juste en face de l'hotel.

La douche (pression de l'eau un peu limite), mais c'est vraiment un detail minime. C'est juste pour ecrire quelque chose dans cette case parce que cet hotel est vraiment tres bien.

Accueil particulièrement chaleureux. Chambres calmes, propres et confortables. Cuisine variée et excellente à prix modéré ainsi que bonne carte des vins. Le patron est sympatique, parle plusieurs langues, il est toujours à l'écoute et soigne très bien ses clients.
