The room was the first in the corridor, which is situated about 6 steps over the hotel restaurant - it was NOISY till about 11.45pm. When I first spoke to the receptionist/waiter at 6pm, when I was trying to catch a 30 minute sleep and heard the whole conversation he was having with a colleague, he said the restaurant would close at 9.30pm. At 11pm, when I went back to ask whether we could please have another room, because the noise from the dining room was intolerable, I was very rudely told "non e' luna chiesa", this is not a church. The lady on duty the next morning, probably the owner of the place since it is a family business, also failed to acknowledge my complaint and dismissed the issue with a smile. Clearly, the staff knows that this is a problem, and quickly assume a defensive (and rude) attitude once the subject is broached.
The location itself just inside the city walls, convenient since the walk to the centre is short, although uphill, but noisy.
The room we were given was nice enough, with a view of the street below. It was on the bigger side, and the bathroom recently refurbished. The wifi works well. The breakfast is good.
