Staff was very friendly and the location is excellent at 200m from Rialto Bridge. The room was spacious and the view of the Grand Canal and the fish market was great (at least from our room). Breakfast was not very varied but was enough. A real problem are the staircase; it is very narrow and to claim with large bags is a real challenge. The cleaning is sometimes disappointing.

The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge. The reception was warm and the room immaculate. Large modern bathroom. The air conditioning worked great. The dinner we had at the restaurant was the best we had in our ten days in Italy. The fish Risotto is fantastic. You order breakfast ahead (night before). We ordered almost everything on the list and it arrived 10 minutes early, they roll it into your room on a trolley. Very convenient, everything we ordered was there and more. The cappuccino was great. I knew how to find it from tips on the internet. Went straight to the entrance in a narrow alley at the end the bridge by the fish market. We enjoyed our stay and did not understand the complaints we read on the internet. Had a room for four, the beds were comfortable for us and the kids. Recommended. The hotel is a little expensive but what is not expensive in Venice. It was a lot less expensive then the big hotels. The meal cost us a little more then we were used to spending on the trip but the service and atmosphere were great, the food was great and we did get a 15% discount because we were staying at the hotel. We walked to the hotel from the train station. I learned the route by heart ahead of time and made it without getting lost. We left most of the luggage in the car and took small packs with what we needed for the stay. This worked out fine. We took a boat back just to get to cruise down the grand canal.

We had an excellent experience with Locanda Poste Vecie! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was large and our family of four was very comfortable. It was a great deal for the money, staying in the off season really helped. When we go back, we will stay here! If you are not accustomed to European bathrooms, the shower set up can be a little different. There isn't much of a shower curtain, but the water was hot and plentiful, so it isn't that much of an issue.

Super-friendly staff, nice rooms, excellent location. I'll definitely stay here again if I come to Venice! I read that it was supposed to be hard to find, but on the contrary. Once you get the hang of it it's the easiest spot to find in Venice. Just follow the signs Per Marco/Per Rialto (or Piazzale Roma/Per Ferravia, depending on where you're walking from), and take left(/right) just before(/after) the bridge where you see the sign Poste Vecie on an adjacent bridge, enter the alley and you're there. Or enter the restaurant Poste Vecie and ask there. Also, the staff sent me an e-mail a couple of weeks before my stay here and gave directions. Friendly and helpful, as always. Breakfast is delivered to your room at your requested time. Small but sufficient selection. The beds are a bit short for two long Swedes (170 respectively 186 cm) but that's not a major issue. If you happen to enter the near-by fish market, watch out for the smell seagulls! They are quite big and so are their droppings...

The location was excellent, very close to the Rialto bridge. We were able to choose exactly what we wanted for breakfast from a list and how many items of which, and had the breakfast brought to our room at the time we requested. The internet was working properly. The air-conditioner in our room was not working properly in that it was emitting an awful smell, as it was leaking freon. The owner of the hotel initially told us the reason for the smell wasn't the air-conditioner, but "Venice", which was untrue, because the air outside smelled just fine. He eventually promised to bring in someone to repair it, but the next day claimed we were asleep when the repair person came in. The following day the same thing repeated - he claimed we were asleep, even though he had personally brought us the breakfast at the same time he claimed the repair person had come in. Despite the fact we were not able to use the air conditioner for all three days of our stay, he refused to give us any discount.

Very nice and very small hotel with very kind staff. Pay attention to the phrase: "a continental breakfast is served to your room each morning." You will have to choose what and in what particular time will be delivered to your room next morning. This is quite unusual and nice service customisation. Don't miss to order the chocolate ;-) Please pay attention that under certain circumstances it could smell bad behind the window since there is a small channel and the fish market is near to the hotel but this is the peculiarity of Venice -- just keep this fact in mind and be ready to close the window and rely on the air conditioning that works well in this hotel.

Although not situated in a high visibility setting, we loved the location of our hotel. We had room #14 at the top of the building. We could watch fish and produce being loaded on the fish market from our window. Simple breakfast delivered to room was very nice. 5 minute walk to Rialto Bridge was an easy one. Most of the grand canal restaurants were right there. The dollar value was superb. We were able to stay in Venice without breaking the bank. No lift. All stairs. No problem for us, but could be a concern for others.

I really enjoyed my stay at Locanda Poste Vecie. Overall, the location. It is very closed to Rialto Bridge and the vaporetto stop is nearby. We got a triple room with a big bathroom. The room was very clean and with nice furniture. They brought us the breakfast to the room, because they do not have any dinning room. It is very small but nice hostal to stay for a short break,.... It was very difficult to find. It is in a very narrow street,.... Our room had no views. It was facing the opposite building, one meter distance.... I consider it is expensive for such an small hostal to charge you 140€ for a triple room, but I suppose the prices in Venice are like that,.... I did not like either the stairs. We got our room on the first floor, but the stairs are very steep to carry heavy suitcases, but the owner was nice and offered himself to carry our suitcases.

Very good location and friendly staff! Everything was ok, airconditioning was functioning well and breakfast was typical simple italian. There is a nice restaurant downstairs (Antica Trattoria Poste Vecie), which can be seen from the fish market next to Canal Grande - it made it easier to find the hotel when arriving for the first time :)

The location was perfect for sightseeing around Venice. The hotel was near the city center. The location was nice since you do so much walking in Venice. I didn't like that the bed and the comforter looked very dirty and old. We also got bug bites in our sleep that looked like bed bugs. The room and bathroom was clean but the bed was very dirty and old looking

The staff were friendly and spoke good English. The hotel is located close to Rialto Bridge and very convenient for exploring the City, The room was thoroughly cleaned every day during the 5 day stay and towles were replaced regularly. It is difficult to find, although close to the Rialto Bridge vaporetto (water taxi) stop. A simple map should be placed as a link on the website
