Locanda Art DecoSan Marco 2966, Calle delle Botteghe, San Marco, 30124 Venice (Show map) Very good, Score from 141 reviews“Large room, hotel convenient to art galleries etc - all we wanted to do.”
Peter,
Leicester
Characteristic, cozy Locanda Art Deco has excellent public transportation access and is located in a quiet part of the San Marco district, an easy 5-minute walk from Italy's most famous square. Locanda Art Deco's typically Venetian rooms feature modern facilities including a personal computer and free Wi-Fi access. You will find an internet point at reception, plus a wide range of children's games. The library has a good stock of travel guides and DVDs on Venice. Breakfast at the Art Deco is generous and tea and coffee are available all day free of charge. Locanda Art Deco can organize tours and even a special gondola trip, where you can meet the city's only female gondolier. A water-bus stop is just a 2-minute walk from this charming Locanda, making the Art Deco easy to arrive at. Rialto Bridge is a 10-minute walk from here, as are the city's most famous museums. A host of cafes, restaurants and typical shops can all be found right outside the establishment. Hotel Rooms: 6

I liked the decor and the fact that it was an old building converted into a hotel. It was also extremely convenient & close to a vaporetto. The breakfast catered for Anglos by providing muesli, not just a continental breakfast. Both my husband & I appreciated the fact that blankets were provided instead of the usual duvet, which we both find is always too hot. It is unfortunate that the hotel is opposite a bar, as the noise from late night revellers echoes in the narrow street & comes straight up through the windows. Fortunately, this was not a major problem.

I liked the room design sloping ceiling, windows, felt like an escape in the attic. The restaurant was closed which I did not know before I got there. It had a strange odor like sewer. Continental breakfast very skimpy..other reviews had mentioned it was very large. I booked there based on the restaurant reviews. Noticed on web site advertisement for better room for lower price.

The location of the hotel was perfect for walking around Venice. The hotel staff also took the time to answer all of my touristy questions and gave some great advice. The breakfast (coffee, croissant and some jams) was everything I needed to get me started in the day. The room wasn't as clean as I would've liked, there were a few hairs on the bed when I removed the sheets, and the bedspread probably hadn't been washed in a few months. My room faced the street side, which made it quiet noisey. You could also head quests who were walking throughout the hotel, and the mumblings of conversations.

Loved the location, close to galleries and shops but away from the swarms of tourists! Art Deco is also a very charming property! The room was very basic, but pleasant. Surprisingly, once the shutters were closed, it was quiet. The ladies at the front desk were helpful and gracious - very welcoming! A little pricey at 180 euros for 1 person but being in the heart of the action was worth it. Breakfast was very scant. One very rude staff.

Good points - very welcoming, helpful and friendly staff. Good sized room, very clean and comfortable. 3Rd bed is a proper bed and not sofabed. Good aircon, coped well with the summer heat. B'fast was quite good - no limit on beverages. Tables were quite small. Use of pc and free wi-fi in the room. Hotel location is good. Not so good points - no proper shower. When standing had to hold up the shower. Reluctance to change towels. B'fast - pop next door to supplement with yoghurt and fruits (generally avaialble in hotels in other Italian towns/cities).

The day staff (I cannot remember her name) was fantastic. She provided excellent recommendation for what to see and do, and gave us clear directions for every place. Always friendly, and nothing was too much effort for her.

Very nice little family-like hotel in a quiet area, not far from S. Marco. Glean, nicely decorated rooms, cozy breakfast room (very good coffee). Friendly staff, Linda is the best hostess ever met. Perhaps too many steps if you have troubles with legs.

It was a good location for the price. It was clean and the staff spoke English. There was confusion about my hotel confirmation. Also, the links for the map directions did not work.

The location was perfect for us. It was a nice hotel that felt safe and like we were at home. The front desk staff were very good to us and we got upgraded to their suite which was a very nice size. The room was very clean and if we needed anything staff were quick to help! The hotel locks early so if you stay out late you have to ring the bell. The staff are very quick to wake and let you in; however, we felt bad having to do so.

The location is perfect, very close to San Marco and just outside a good place for panini Really noisy between 8 and 10 am when everyone goes to take break fast at the hotel, by the way it is imposible to tell that is a break fast, that was nothing (coffee or tee, and cookies)
