In a 19th-century building, the Quirinale is a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum. This historic hotel is connected to Rome Opera House through a passageway in its leafy courtyard.

I liked the flavor of the old worn at one time a grand hotel. It had a lot of character. Great terrace for breakfast and drinks. Very nice staff.
My single room was so tiny...and quite worn out...Bathroom was updated, but a tiny box of a shower.
The breakfast table was sumptuous! The staff was very helpful and understanding. The hotel is within walking distance of many of the sights of Rome.
The music in the bar in the evening was overwhelmingly loud! We would have liked to enjoy a night-cap in the roof garden, but the loudness of the music prevented that. Same in the bar.
Character and quality of the hotel, great location, staff efficient and welcoming
Would have liked tea & coffee making facitlities in the room, but only a very minor issue
This is our third return trip to Rome and the Hotel Locarno. Every time we are treated to first class service. We have always been treated like we are renting the best room in the hotel even though we are budget minded travelers. The hotel has a variety of rooms at varying prices and the junior suite is an excellent choice if you want a little more room to spread out. There is an older part of the hotel (where we stay) that is charming, as well as a more modern ( and higher priced) area. The complementary breakfast is fantastic, very Italiano, which we love! And the best: it is in the Piazza del Popolo so you are within walking distance to everything Roma. Vatican City is just across a bridge, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Roma Capitale, Coliseum, etc are all an easy walk. They even arrange for your private car transfer from the airport at a reasonable 50 Euro. And the bar is hopping at night with wonderful complementary appetizers with your cocktail. Wi-fi works great too!
Entrance with art nouveau furnishings. Large room with antique furniture. A sense of old, well maintained, grandeur.
Very old lift with folding metal door, it suits the ambiance but not very convenient. Room not ready on our arrival until after 3.30.
Stylish and chic Nice comfortable room and bed Welcoming staff
Only issues were the roof terrace never seemed to be open and the wifi was a bit intermittent..! Not big problems though, would definitely recommend...
Difficulty with door lock
Location, service, roof terrace, breakfast. Everything was perfect.
Quiet area. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated with antiques. Bed was comfortable. Roof top deck was excellent for an evening drink before going out to dinner. I would come back but would ask for a room with bigger and more nice shower.
The shower was not at standard. (remodeled but very poorly done) cold and hot couldn't be adjusted easily, not at all. But water temp. that came out was ok. The shower door almost fell down. Our room was on 2nd floor.
Charming historic hotel in a wonderful location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Location Roof Terrace Bar Good Breakfast Friendly, helpful staff
Wi-fi didn't reach breakfast outdoor area. Rooms dated (renovation underway)
a charming old italian boutique hotel in an excellent location to all of Rome.
They have a helpfull and friendly staff . I love the location and the courtyard .
The courtyard was under construction so they served breakfast in a dark bar area . The breakfast was only adequate . The A/C and Wifi are barely adequate.
Roof terrace bar with generous measures and tasty snacks
Location is perfect! Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Air conditioner was controlled centrally and was not strong enough and got hot and stuffy in the room.
The staff, the location and the breakfast were wonderful plus my room was extremely comfortable and full of character.
another powerpoint in the room for chargers
The Hotel Locarno's location is absolutely perfect. It's just off the Piazza Popoli in central Rome. The Borghese Gardens and Museum are up the hill on the other side of the Piazza. The hotel is charming and old world and has a rooftop bar with great (though pricey) drinks, music, chic people and a breathtaking view of the city.
I didn't dislike this but you should be aware that the Locarno is an old world hotel, so don't expect a ton of space in the standard room but it was more than adequate for two friends.
The location was great. The Hotel's terrace upstairs provided a nice relaxing venue with cooling breezes on what were some very hot days in June. The newly completed downstairs terrace was a lovely place for breakfasts which were very good.
Air conditioning was not adequate to cope with the hot days
location, good size rooms, bathrooms, roof terrace aperitifs, excellent breakfast
staff were not overly friendly, wifi absolutely terrible - none of us could connect throughout our stay.
the rooftop bar and cocktail bar is fantastic for an Aperol Spritz. Also breakfast was great in the morning. Great location also.
The room was tiny particularly the bathroom - For the price they could have done the room up a little better.
Excellent staff as usual
Poor wifi, probably due to the renovation works on site
Atmosphere was old world but very comfortable and the staff were very warm and helpful
Not enough power points in the room
Location was excellent, breakfast was nice and kids enjoyed the lift.
Remote control in room didn't work drinks expensive.
loved the location and the boutique style feel of the hotel
the beds were hard and the staff was somewhat unhelpful about certain things
The only thing I like about this hotel was the friendly receptionist.
The hotel is very poorly managed. It is certainly not a 4 star hotel. I would hardly give it 1 star . It is ever so dark with a nursing home odor. Even the suit has no facilities like slippers or electrical kettle . The mattresses are old & terrible. real run down furnishing, poor running water, no shower heads. The 1 receptionist had to take care of all the guests needs by herself, answer the calls, so on....line up to be taken care of could go on.
