No real criticisms, just some observations. The 2nd floor shower is very weak and very sensitive to temperature adjustment. I loved the location but it's not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as it's steps, steps and more steps everywhere you walk! The B&B is located in a car-free pedestrian area too so walking can't be avoided (although for me this contributed to the charm of the location!). I arrived at Castelsardo by bus and initially had difficulty finding it, so some good walking directions provided to guests in the appropriate language would be helpful. There is no air conditioning which wasn't a problem for my stay as it wasn't too hot, but in the peak summer months I imagine it would get very hot in the room.
Superb location in the centre of the old town, close to some lovely restaurants and cafes and the castle. The sea views from the second floor balcony and terrace are wonderful. The bathroom is private rather than en suite, but as you have the second floor to yourself this isn't a problem. Breakfast is served in the lower ground floor and it feels like you're descending into a cave, with candles and tea lights lining the stairway. Stefania, the owner, offers Italian or English breakfasts, and although I opted for Italian every day, the omelettes I saw other guests eating looked delicious. Italian breakfast included croissants, cake and toast; everything is homemade and just superb. I found Stefania very friendly and so helpful, but she doesn't speak any English so it was a brilliant opportunity to try to communicate in Italian (I found an excellent app on my iPhone to help!). Wifi in the second floor room has a good signal. I am a female travelling alone and felt very safe in this location. I don't often visit places twice but if I do I will definitely stay at Lo Pulciu again.
