Score from 707 reviews Very good
It was fine but not a hotel. The owners were very kind and helpful.
it was a B&B so no services in daytime. I wouldn't have stayed there if I had realised. Just a little too far outside the centre for mature couple to walk and bus services non existent on Sunday mornings. We should have had a shorter stay.
brand new facility interesting design helpful staff free parking
Check out is 11 AM - a bit early, I guess
Easy to find. Close to the city wall, interesting sites & restaurants. Staff were extra helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. Our room was very large and the bathroom was a good size too. AND an electric jug was supplied so you could make yourself a cup of tea.
Large, clean, comfortable room; very helpful staff
I enjoyed a very spacious & well-appointed room with an en-suite bathroom, desk, large wardrobe & TV. You are given a key to your room & side door so that you may come & go as you please. Upon checking in, I was provided with a detailed map of the city of Lucca & told about the various activities - concerts, food exhibit, etc - that were taking place during my stay & where to find them on the map. A typical Italian breakfast consisting of an assortment of pastries, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, toast, etc. was included & was very good. I would happily stay here again!
There isn't an elevator, so it was necessary to carry my heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs, which Elisa quickly assisted me in doing. My only disappointment was that the bicycles they normally loan to guests were out for servicing during my stay, so I needed to rent one in town.
Everything seemed recently remodeled which is nice. Good self-service breakfast. The staff was excellent. We are planning to go back next year.
Wonderful accommodation. Everything was perfect!
No frills but very clean and comfortable with a great breakfast. A great deal better than some (far more expensive) hotels we have stayed at. Will recommend it to family and friends
There was nothing to dislike
Convenient location for all the shops, restaurants and bike hire to cycle the perimeter of the City wall. The best hazelnut icecream from Cremeria Opera, Viale Luporini.
Large room, comfortable, quiet area, easy parking
Large Italian house within easy walking distance of the Port Eliza entrance . Room large , slightly austere furnishings but bed very comfortable . Everything neede was in the room and of high quality . We only saw two people during our stay - a gentleman on reception when we arrived , who only spoke Italian and showed us to our room - the other was a lady at reception , who spoke good English , when we left . Breakfast was 'do it yourself' and completely unattended . Not sure where all the very helpful and friendly staff mentioned by other reviewers were . Having said that the lady receptionist did offer to post my cards .
No one around to ask for help , directions or advice . Breakfast rather meagre .
Near to Lucca by foot and parking for car
Hollow building...hear everyone walking around
the breakfast were very good.
There was only 1 chair in a roomfor 2 people.
nice and comfortable rooms, very clean, location close to the old town
missing extra blankets, quite cold during the night
Location, cleanliness, breakfast, staff, bed.
Ease of acces (arrival, departure) proximity of services : supermarket & discount gas. Short walk to old city walks and Saturday market. Good restaurant nearby. I needed a dark SIM card, 2 companies only minutes away.
Heart of old city 15-20 minutes away.
Comfortable, clean room; reliable wifi; secure free parking on premises; quiet location & 5 minute walk to Porta Elisa and ancient walks; friendly staff.
In my view, eggs boiled too hard.
no safe in room, lack of storage for clothes.
a nice big room, despite the rather austere decoration; conveniently situated for the town.
A great place to stay, recently and tastefully refurbished. Comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff.
Nice place. Good location.
Some noise from the street.
one block fromt he eastern gate to the city. We stayed in the annex-comfortable and clean. Nice touch was a dispenser of water on the ground floor. Breakfast was good-offered in the basement of the main building. About a 10 minute walk on level sidewalks from the train station.
Clean. Friendly and informative staff. Close to the Elisa gate and restaurants. Bikes are complementary and good.
Helpful receptionist, convenient location, car parking, variety at breakfast, excellent base.
Good location from the train station and only a few blocks away from the entrance to the walled city of Lucca.
