No negatives, exactly what I expected. Good value, good staff and good location.

The great hospitality of Alessandra and Fabio - Thanks again! Fresh towels and linen every second day were a nice surprise. Great location - walk distance to the Old Town of Lucca. And Lucca itself - especially in a late evening!

Bird concerto started at 3 a.m., but you can survive it :-)

Nice and helpful staff, large room with kitchen. Everything is wonderful.

All was beautiful! Very good, comfortable apartment, decorated in modern design. All kitchen facilities were at the apartment. Staff is very kindly. The apartment is situated 10 minutes walk from city center and you can reach city center by bicycles (hotel provides them).

Very friendly staff recommended two restaurants in Old City but did not mention that every single restaurant was closed until after 7 pm so after two hours searching for a place to eat with an exhausted 5 year old we drove out of town towards Pisa and found a fantastic fish restaurant....

The welcoming, the furniture, the service are really good. Great Hotel, very close to the old city, just 5 minutes away. Amazing apartment, to an amazing city!

I liked everything.

We stayed in a lovely apartment,it had everything you would need. The owners are great,even picking us up and dropping us back at the train station which is around a 30 minute walk away. The weather was bad so we didn't get to go out on their bikes,but it would be a perfect town to ride around and picnic on the walls.

The town was such a great way to experience local culture without being surrounded by other tourists. The location of the villa was great, and the owners were amazing. They were very helpful in giving advise about where to go in the town and the best way to do a day trip to Pisa. It's a 40 minute bus ride and perfect for a day trip, but stay in Lucca, you will not regret it.

It was perfect.

Quite impressive. We arrived Lucca at mid night due to a shocking railway strike - we were scheduled to leave Florence at 21:00, while the bus driver was not willing to take so many people and the bus was delayed 2 hours. Although we have a call with Lucca in Villa for the delay, actually we are afraid they would not come to pick up us from the bus stop because it's too late and they had no idea about our exact arriving time. However, it's really amazing that the householder waited us for over an hour and picked up us from the bus stop to the apartment. Although we are somehow disappointed with Italian's public transportation system, we really touched by his hospitality and warm welcome. The room is very clean, new, well facilitated (with wifi, independent shower room kitchen and even mosquito insecticide) and fashion-decorated (it's one-of the best decorated apartment during our 20 days stays in Europe). In geography perspective, it's not far from the wall. We were greatly refreshed after a nice sleep, and the apartment clearly introduced the nice Lucca for us. In addition, he rent us bikes to tour around the town! It's really a fantastic and unforgettable experience for us! We just stayed one day in Lucca, but we loved this peaceful town in the first minute, not only for the inner-peace we can find, the beautiful view, but for the sincere Lucca people (especially the handsome hostel who really gave us a lot of help). We believe we'll come back again, and will definitely choose Lucca in Villa San Marco in the next trip (we think we can try their kitchen the next time). We'll also recommend "Lucca in Villa San Marco" to our friends!

Self-catering, possibility to cook, kitchenette equipment. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

Helpful staff, extra large room with all the comforts you require hen travelling. They also provide bikes which made our experience in Lucca absolutely unforgettable. We will be back!

Facilities high standard. Alexandra and Fabio very accommodating, friendly and informative. Left water in fridge on arrival. Locked keys in car after leaving Lucca Sunday morning with crucial medication inside, Totally helpless. In desperation we rang Alexandra for advice. Within 15 minutes Fabio arrived and talked to Car Hire company on his own phone and organised local garage. Fabio even brought us to Hertz at Pisa airport and back to Lucca again to arrange solution - it took about 6 hours. Off the radar, we shall be forever indebted to both of them for their help. Highly recommend a visit to Villa San Marco.

Lucca was our last stop on our Tuscany trip before heading to Cinque Terre, and I can say it was a worthy stop. Only an apartment, no permanent reception and no breakfast, but Fabio made us very welcome: previously he informed us via email how to get there, sent us a map and driving directions, at the time of our arrival he came to the Villa to show us around, bought us a huge bottle of water which was kind of a lifesaver in 35 degrees, thank you Fabio!!! The apartmant was spacey and comfortable, air-conditioned, fully equipped kitchen, big bathroom and very very clean and neat. Fabio let us use the bikes, so we did a little trip on the medieval wall surrounding the city of Lucca the next morning. Lucca in Villa San Marco is a lovely place, right at the gate to the old town, I would recommend to anyone to have a stop here and look around in Lucca by foot or have a glimpse from the wall on a bike.

A very friendly place,ideally situated for the old town. Aircon that worked quietly and well - it would have been uncomfortable without it . A very quiet location that was easy to park at, yet less than five minutes from the town walls.The rather quirky sixties pop art feel that made the place quite unique.

Rather inefficient fridge,but that's a minor complaint.

Value for money clean nice people very close to the historic center of the city bicycles for guests:)

A perfect stay for a base in north Italy. We had rented a car and this apartment was perfect for visiting the area, Florence, Pisa, Lucca etc. great value for money, free parking, bike hire, home comforts. Great value for money, you get a whole apartment minutes walk from the centre of Lucca. Not a bad word to say about this place, the staff were really nice, wish we could have stayed longer. You should stay here you won't be disappointed.

Lucca in Villa San Marco was a fabulous place to stay while visiting the charming city of Lucca. The hosts were the most helpful staff we met on our 12 day tour of Italy. Especially nice was the use of their four very nice bicycles to get around the city. I would highly recommend this apartment!

Lucca in Villa San Marco is a great value of money. The host is responsive. I didn't see any problem with they are not based in the same building as this is an "apartment". The host called us and checked about our arrival time. When we arrive, they were there and expecting us. So do inform the host your expected arrival time. We enjoy our stay there. There was a carrefour nearby. We bought our food from there and make both breakfast and dinner on our own. Last but not least, do take advantage of the free bicycle hiring from Villa San Marco. We enjoyed our ride in the old town and thought it was one of the highlights of our stay in Lucca.

Very welcoming and friendly greeting on arrival. The hotel/apartment was in a great location for access to the city centre by foot. There was free and secure car parking next to the accommodation. They had good bikes available for free which were excellent for exploring the walls surrounding the city and the local countryside. Overall a great place to stay for a short break in Lucca.
