The location could not be better, characterful rooms, sea views, stunning pool, the cloister for quiet relaxation under lemon trees. Welcoming and helpful staff. There's very little to criticise, we were sometimes woken early by road noise but I don't think you could escape this anywhere is Amalfi and it didn't spoil our enjoyment.

Service was good and staff friendly and helpful. Good location in Amalfi with easy access to other towns and wonderful walks. Quiet hotel, good food and relaxed atmosphere. The shower in our standard room was a bit small.

Spectacular sea views and location close to Amalfi city centre. Breakfast was plentiful of delicious options. Staff was very kind and attentive at all times. The matress and pillows were a bit hard.

The location is stunning, overlooking the waterfront in Amalfi. It is a short walk to town While it is a beautiful location, we felt the reviews were a little over- rated. The bidet in the ensuite had not been used in a while and the water seal did not exist allowing the sewer smell to permiate the room. It was a simple fix to run the water but this had not been done. Rooms were small and relatively uncomfortable.

The venue is awesome with spectacular views of the Amalfi coast. It used to be a convent so it has a certain charm. Having said that this is pretty much all it offers. Service and facilities are just basic.

Great location & sea views. Quirky hotel - lovely mix of old & new. Staff really great. They learned it was our 25th wedding anniversary & presented 2 glasses Prosecco for us at breakfast, followed by a full bottle in a silver wine cooler delivered to our rom in the evening...brilliant! Only wi-if available in public areas.

It is quite different from the typical urban hotel. It was a bit cold in the room.

Great welcome, setting & accommodation. Stunning room and a spacious balcony overlooking Amalfi Town. The great history of the convent was evident & the tranquility of the setting made for a most relaxing stay. Hail! Hail! Luna Convento.

the sea views, location, history of conversion from convent to hotel, architectural details of the hotel, ocean view rooms have balconies (ours was very small, but we could step out and there were 2 chairs) The reception and restaurant staff were polite but standoffish...there was no warmth in daily encounters (eg a good morning/or how was your day when picking up keys at the end of the day), no checking back if the stay was satisfactory, or eg. at breakfast, ..no coming by to see whether anything else was needed.

A beautiful setting at the edge of Amalfi with great views and easy access to the town. A lovely large bedroom overlooking the sea. Nice dining room and cloister for drinks, and another attractive restaurant in a Saracen tower opposite the hotel above the seaside pool and terraces.Friendly helpful staff.

Hotel was very old and beautiful with a gorgeous large courtyard. In the best location with superb views. The staff were ever so pleasant, extremely helpful, organised a fabulous coastal tour, advised us on eateries etc and overall could not fault them. Their local knowledge was excellent. Breakfast on the balcony was superb. Was a tiny bit disappointed with our room standard for the price, knowing that the other members of the family who paid the same had a lot more room.

This was our 3rd stay at the Luna Convento in the last 12 years. We think it is a fabulous place to stay. Hotel is gorgeous, staff is ever helpful and solicitous. Views from room balconies are unbelievable. Send us airfare and we are back there tomorrow. Not one thing!!

The staff, food, views, location were amazing - the hotel though is very dated, and maintenance seems unimportant - we had cracks on walls, loose floor tiles, unfinished electrical connections etc etc

wonderful historical building, fabulous location, vview could not be bettered. pool was great. Tranquil, beautiful interior and furnishings, with a very cool, relaxing courtyard. Alfonso, on the front desk was very helpful and a great character, a true asset to the Hotel. I would like to go back for him to show me the chapel, unfortunately time ran out this time. The service in the restaurant at breakfast time was poor considering the star rating and room rates. Dirty plates and dishes left on our tables which should have been cleared by waiter throughout the meal. Service lacked attention, never asked if we wanted more coffee or tea etc., and the staff rarely smiled. When more coffee was requested had to wait too long, considering the ratio of staff to people in the restaurant this was unacceptable. Air conditioning in rm. 27 was a problem and despite it being attended to on several occasions the room was still too hot and the air conditioner noisy which affected sleeping. We left air con. on during the day, hoping to find room at more acceptable temp. on our return but housekeeping had switched it off and opened all the windows! For a superior room it was very basic with very basic amenities and decoration. It left me wondering what a basic room would be like! I booked two rooms, one of which was upgraded and this room was superb. I hope the issues I have raised can be addressed as I would like to stay again but would expect better service.

I spent two nights at the Hotel Luna Convento while on my honeymoon and could not have had a better experience. Looking back, we wish we had spent the entire stay at Luna Convento. We loved the old, historic charm of the hotel (12th century). The rooms were small but beautiful- featuring a painted tile floor and frescoed ceilings. The location was only a quick walk to the center of Amalfi, and was right on the water. It has a breathtaking view of the deep turquoise Mediterranean. The hotel has it's own infinity pool which is embedded amongst the cliffside rocks, and has a lovely private "beach" area for a quick dip in the sea. Every morning, a full breakfast(included) was served on the terrace, with a lovely view of the sea. The breakfast choices were plentiful and delicious. It ended up being our main meal of the day! This stay was the dolce vita! We are already planning a return to this hotel in the years to come. Some noise from the street, but it was a small price to pay for this charming facility.

I believe that every room looked over Amalfi- which frankly is stunning. The weather was extremely hot but the hotel remained cool and at times a welcome option-especially the inner garden. All the staff were fantastic and almost all with good English. Finally the pool is probably the best location in Amalfi, chiselled out of the cliffs offering the opportunity to hurl yourself into the crystal clear Med!

The facility is beautiful, unique and top notch. The staff is friendly, helpful and very competent. The food is superb. We did not want to eat anywhere else in town. The view from our room was priceless. One could not ask for more in a vacation hotel. There was nothing we did not like. Our stay was as good as possible.
