Location- nice walk to all the main sights Roof terrace Friendly staff.
room not comformable
Staff were knowledgeable & friendly & rewarded all attempts to speak Italian. Breakfast was very good. The dining area was superb; espresso/cappuccino was quickly delivered upon request. Location a plus if you wanto walk to sites, even Via Veneto is very close. Ask for a step by step route.
Hotel computer went into rigor mortis. Panchetta is NOT BACON! It was foul-tasting, unfortunately. I spoke with the kitchen staff who said it was delivered "daily". I suggest you get a different vendor for panchetta & it would reward you with an increase in American guests.
Wonderful area, professional staff, nice restaurant
Pillow was too soft and bed keep moving.
Polite staff, nice breakfast, best view!
size of room bathroom
A lovely older hotel, well run and tastefully updated. Exceptionally helpful staff. The breakfast room and terrace on the roof are a special delight! A quiet and restful neighbourhood, but easy access to lots of restaurants and bars and a superb ice cream parlour. About a twenty walk from Termini (train station), and also 15 minutes from Piazza Barberini and the Via Veneto.
Room, roof garden, staff, area, near-by restaurants. The whole experience.
Internet signal strength in Rm 646 was not strong enough.
Me and my husband were on honeymoon, we informed staff before, but when we arrived there was nothing special, none welcomed us as just married, or just mentioned it, nothing.. And as well when you need to iron your clothes, so you have to pay, they do not provide you with iron. During the night Wi Fi was not working properly, we had problems with connection.
The staff were incredible warm and helpful . The rooms just perfect in style . Totally clean and the roof top terrace a delight ! Location perfect and the local restaurants really authentic and the food fantastic . Yoga studio next door totally makes it an all round great place to be .
The location was perfect, it was on the same street as a number of lovely restaurants, and two fab ice cream shops! Within walking distance of all the sights and cental station. The staff were very helpful.
A good hotel but expensive for the time we stayed there (195 euros per night 2-5 oct). The staff were pleasant and helpful. The best and most appreciated moments were due to Salvatoire who was the barman on the roof top terrace, very professional and naturally client orientated. Thank you Salvatoire who I concider to be a big asset to this hotel
Breakfast was in line with a four star hotel.
The staff at Hotel Marcella was friendly and helpful. They cheerfully assisted with making dinner reservations and calling to reschedule a tour that we missed due to late arrival. The rooftop bar/restaurant is lovely! Breakfast was good, especially the coffee.
Our only complaints would be the hard, uncomfortable bed and the spotty Wi-Fi reception. The hotel is not in the most convenient location for catching metro and touring major sites in Rome, but we would recommend the property based on value and overall experience.
The terrace on top
mechanic service in the reception. small room
The staff was extremely warm and helpful with great personalities. I felt very much at home there. The upstairs terrace was fantastic: great breakfast, lots of plants and umbrellas and live music at night.
My single room was so tiny I felt like I was in an old maid's quarters. The bathroom was also tiny and I had to sit on the toilet sideways.
This is a great hotel, clean, stylish, and modern with all the facilities. Most of the staff are really nice and helpful and I felt like I was the guest and could do and have whatever I needed. What a fantastic view from the breakfast terrace on the roof.
Please avoid one of the older balding male desk concierges who I could tell was being rude about me for no reason. I didn't chase it up as I didn't want trouble as this was my holiday but I am still angry about it and he is clearly in the wrong job making guests feel small. Also the hotel is a bit of a walk from the centre but I was happy.
Staff attentiveness Location
Prices in the bar upstairs a bit steep.
A super city hotel perfect for a short break in Rome. Super helpful staff all round always there to help. After two visits now I would definitely recommend thus hotel to anyone. Their beautiful roof top terrace was perfect for evening drinks and breakfast.
Have just returned from a long weekend in Italy, spending two nights at the Marcella Royal hotel in Rome. We were disappointed we only stayed the two nights! We wanted to stay for a lot longer... We checked in to the hotel and the porter kindly took our cases to our room for us as we followed. He showed us around the room and how the safe etc worked and left without hanging around for a tip (which I was ready to give him!) which was in itself quite refreshing! The room was amazing, I think it was possibly the best room in the hotel- we were on the 5th floor and had a small 'Juliet' style balcony which we could stand out on and look at the amazing view which looked straight down a long avenue with mountains in the far distance which was very nice. I had informed the hotel of my desire to propose to my girlfriend on our trip and any little extras they could afford us would be great- they didn't disappoint. The room was great and was accompanied with a bottle of Prosecco on Ice waiting for us. I popped the question on the balcony, and she said yes! There is a fantastic roof 'garden' terrace complete with a bar and restaurant for light dinners and drinks where a singer and piano player played on the two nights we were there who was also very good. After a long day of walking around Rome, we retired back to the hotel and went straight to the roof terrace where we found a sun lounger with complimentary towels where we napped with a large beer in the afternoon sun... bliss in the heart of Rome City!! Couldn't recommend the hotel more, a 10 min walk gets you to the Spanish steps and leads you on to the various other sights and Piazzas Rome has to offer. if you are in doubt of a hotel to book, book this one.
Didn't stay long enough!
It was close to the city. Most staff was very helpful
Couldn't change aircon temp. Waiter recommended bad restaurant. No ironing facilities.
The roof garden was lovely and you didn't have to buy a drink every time you sat there, particularly in the afternoons
Lovely hotel, very welcoming, helpful and knowledgable staff who were more than happy to assist with directions and also recommendations for local restaurants. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel is in a lovely area within walking distance of most things and lots of traditional, good value restaurants around. We would definitely stay here again.
Roof top bar
I did like it but maybe review rooftop menu and add pool facilities within hotel
Location. Having breakfast or a drink on the roof terrace. Clean and comfortable. Close to reasonably priced restaurants. And within walking distance of the main termini and buses.
Poor wifi. And breakfast could have been more varied. Dinner menu was very limited. A great shame because it would be lovely to have dinner on the roof terrace.
