Hotel Marchionni is a classic example of Liberty architecture and is located in the most artistic and monumental neighborhood of Viareggio, close to the Passeggiata and the Viali a Mare. The hotel was designed by the famous architects Belluomini and Chini, authors of many of Viareggio’s landmarks, such as other hotels on the seaside promenade and the famous Caffè Margherita, where prominent Italian figures such as Puccini, Toscanini and Marconi used to come to relax. Some of the hotel rooms provide a nice sea view, and as a guest of the Marchionni you can enjoy discounted rates at the fully equipped beach establishment Bagno Guido, where you can spend delighting sunny days. The restaurant offers specialties of the regional and national tradition, and has a dining room suitable for private events and banquets for up to 150 guests. Good breakfast, friendly staff, nice and clean room. Our large dog (saint bernard) was also welcome in the hotel. We even got a free room upgrade so we would have more space.

Our room was spacious with very high ceilings and a good hot shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to beach and park, shops. Fantastic seafood restaurant 'Massimo's' as recommended by hotel manager was the gastronomic highlight of our trip to Italy!! Hard to get coffee/tea/espresso.

Lovely balcony with seating and evening sun. Superb breakfast for the Italy even catering for gluten free diets. High class shopping front. Updated old hotel. Parking only free after 7pm on day we stayed so cost €6. Shower in room broken height and angle adjustment so needed to hold head.

We used Viareggio as a base to explore Lucca, Florence and the Cinque Terra. The hotel staff was very knowledgeable of directions, parking lots, tickets and the like. On their suggestion we drove to and parked at Monterosso as it was not yet high season; this would not be possible later in the summer due to demand. The morning breakfast was very valuable for us as we wanted to go exploring and not stop and eat elsewhere. We also enjoyed the quad room which was two bedroom and a separate bathroom which afforded some sleep privacy.

Wonderful beachside location. Beautifully decorated & maintained old hotel - full of character and charm. Very comfortable room with sea view from balcony. Superb breakfast -The best breakfast we have had in 2 weeks touring around beautiful Tuscany. Across the road to niice sandy beach (expensive but got a 10% discount from the hotel) and plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Would definitely recommend and we shall return.

ein hübsches Hotel in guter Lage, recht ruhig, tolles Frühstücksbuffet mit enormer Auswahl, Mieträder für 6 Euro am Tag die ausgeleierte Federkernmatratze war für die Müllhalde. Man hat jede Feder gespürt, konnte nur schlafen wenn man die 4fach gefaltete Decke drüber gelegt hat... Badezimmer winzig und seltsam konstruirt: beim Duschen klebt man zwischen Wand und WC und duscht dieses gleich mit.

La sua posizione al centro della piazza ti permette di godere di una vista mare splendida e anche un po' di pineta. L'hotel purtroppo non possiede garage quindi per trovare posti senza pagare ti devi spostare lungo la pineta essendo la piazza tutta a pagamento.

Le petit déjeuner très copieux, la situation de l'hôtel. L'insonorisation et l'isolation des fenêtres inexistantes. Beaucoup de bruits et nous y étions en Avril. Donc pour les mois d'été cela peut être plus délicat. La salle de bains est un peu petite.

Unicamente la posizione, dato che l'hotel è piuttosto vecchiotto. Ci ritorno solo se la camera è in offerta, altrimenti i prezzi sono troppo elevati, a prezzo pieno vado da un'altra parte.

Son emplacement Hôtel vieillot-Télé obligé de la brancher car la télécommande ne fonctionnait pas - fuite d'eau au lavabo - mobilier vieux et dans l'armoire on n'a pas envie d'y poser ses affaires. Hôtel très bruyant car fenêtres en tres mauvaises état. Je n'y reviendrai pas
