Hotel Mare  

The view is nice, If you don't have a car, take the boat taxi from the harbor (€ 4 pp) or the bus (€2 pp) because the taxi was € 30 for about 10 km. The breakfast was very good for Italian standards. The superior rooms with see view are certainly worth the extra. Staff at reception was really friendly and helpful, they even gave reduction because I booked a boot trip with them.

The beach is really narrow and small, the sea water is not the nicest of the island due to sea weed in the water and on the beach. If you don't have a car, there is no shop in the vicinity to buy some fruit or something else.

Hotel was clean and fresh, see view rooms are worth the extra cost. Restaurant good and staff friendly and helpful.

Hotel bit isolated if you don't have transport as water taxi finishes at 7pm. However tw rental has office next to hotel and scooter hire was a great way to see the island. Would be helpful if they offered collection and return transport to/from ferry if water taxi not available as taxis expensive from portoferraio.

Extremely helpful staff. I was collected and returned to the ferry at no charge. I was also taken to the pick up point when hiring a car. Internet usage was free!! Food was appetising and plentiful (stayed on half board basis). Room facilities have been upgraded to usage of high quality shower and bathroom equipment. Swimming pool and general exterior well maintained. Wonderful place to eat an evening meal whist watching the sun set. Apart from the Swiss Hiking holiday parties the hotel was generally very quiet - which was just what I wanted.

As I went in the middle of May not all expectations were met - it being just the start of the season. No small ferry available; beach in need of cleaning (however it was explained that the hotel has to wait for the local authority to give permission for this to happen??) But hey, this is Italy and one should be prepared to compromise on some things!

Sehr hilfsbereites Personal und schöner Pool,Gartenanlage.Fahrradverleih möglich und beim Mieten eines Autos oder Rollers wurde einem durch das freundliche Personal geholfen.Lage ist sehr schön,allerdings auch sehr abgeschieden.Ideal für einen Urlaub zum Entspannen.Halbpension ist sehr zu empfehlen,Servicepersonal ist sehr freundlich und spricht mehrere Sprachen.

Strand ist nicht als Badestrand zu nutzen

Uppskattade lugnet och småskaligheten på orten, delvis beroende på vald tidpunkt, första veckan i maj. Utmärkt service och bemötande av all personal. Halv pension rekommenderas, väl komponerad med alternativa rätter.

Molto tranquillo, fuori dal caos di Porto Ferraio. Discreto il ristorante, consiglio decisamente la mezza pensione.

в номере было очень холодно. постель была сырая - видимо, пережила зиму...

Rustige ligging. Voldoende facilliteiten. Fraai uitzicht vanaf balkon.(Alleen op de eerste en 2e etage) Goed ontbijt. Goed, tot het hotel behorende restaurant, op 25 mtr.

Enorm vervelende eerste ober. Ontbijt tussen 08.00 en 10.00 uur maar als je om 08.30 eitje vraagt zegt hij dat de keuken al gesloten is. Na een gesprek met de directie is man gecorrigeerd.
