We are very grateful to the staff of the hotel for our wonderful New Year stay in Venezia! Special thanks to Mariana and Elmi! Your help is superb! Dear potential customers! Don’t hesitate to choose this hotel for your future trips. It is perfectly located: very close to the logistic points and to the centre of the city. If you are lucky to be accommodated in the renovated wing, you will enjoy the special atmosphere of its rooms. Cleaning-up was done every day regardless the holidays, towels changed, shampoos and all necessary stuff for the bathroom provided timely and tactfully. Though be prepared for the noise coming from the outside (I took my earplugs with me) as the hotel location is a very busy place. I will not comment much on breakfasts, as those who travel around Italy, very well know that a cup of coffee and a croissant at a nearby cafe is a usual thing for this country. We left Marte to continue our journey in a very happy mood, and we wish the Owner and the Personnel all the best in 2015 and in next years to come! Tatiana & Vladimir Moscow
Bath rooms were hardly big enuf to take a bath.rooms were very old.
friendly staff, central location, big bed, bright room
no elevator, the many stairs are a bit steep with a suitcase. The entry stairway needed a bit of repaint. The lobby should be tidied up a little.
Whilst not modern it was shabby chic, clean, comfortable, can't wait to visit again.
Breakfast, a croissant and a cup of coffee is not a breakfast, and the staff in the cafe were a miserable bunch
The closeness to station and the waterways. Very central and nice location
The 2 floor climb to Hotel Marte, with all your luggage (no elevators), then the staff tells you your room is right across the canal on the otherside in Hotel Biasin. One needs to take all luggage down walk across and climb steps again to room. They can have simple solutions by letting one know a day earlier where to go.
All good, you need to check in at one place but the actual room was excellent.
Very noisy. Not sound proof rooms .b
Staff, location & care of the property were all very acceptable. Recommend it
too many stairs with luggage
The room smell a lot to seafood, we think that the restaurant below doesnot have a good ventilation system. Lots of stairs.
clean, new and clean bathroom, location is good
to many stairs, espesially bad who with pushchair, and aircondition was on 21 all the night..so we couldn't regulate it, after those night we got seek..and the bed was too small for us, as we were with baby and they forgot to put us cot for baby..But for single couples or travelers is perfect!
Location was great, lots around the area and in walking distance to most other attractions. We stayed in room no. 4 in the annex building. All newly decorated and furnished and had a balcony that overlooked one of the canals and bridges. New bathroom also. We were not expecting such a great location. Water bus stop one minute walk from hotel also. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to visit Venice and stay in good clean affordable accommodation.
It didn't bother us but there was no elevator to get to the floors. It might not be convenient for older people or those with babies, buggies etc
no air conditioner , no tv and no wifi
Reception did not always have English speaking staff, and it's located on the opposite side of our hotel.
Good location, very close to water-bus stop and train station.
Better to inform the guests in advance if the room arranged is on the other side of the canal~
Proximity to train station and boat stop for airport boat taxi Proximity to Grand Canal Proximity to shops & restaurants
Mosquitoes Poor air conditioning
The building was so old, the wall of the room was not clean at all (there were several marks on the wall).. Especially, I didn't like the blanket. It looked not clean at all but we had to use it because it was a bit cold.
Location is good. Easy walk from bus or train station. Nicely refurbished bathroom (although not really any place to hang the towels).
Pretty noisy at night. Staff could not accurately answer general tourist questions. (It's not a "buffet breakfast".) Really small pillows (and room).
The location of the hotel is excellent - conveniently close to the train station. Staff were helpful and friendly.
We asked for twin beds. The second bed was small, and the matrass was not of good quality.
security, noise, worst breakfast experience of the trip, room was very small. almost 2 flights of steps up to front desk.
The location is very convenient,5 minutes' walk to Santa Lucia Station.Room is lovely and shower room is clean.Breakfast is served at a bar near Marte, including a croissant and a cup of coffee.
Really liked the location, just off the main pedestrian thoroughfare, close to the Grand Canal and plenty of restaurants nearby make it a good location.
The bed was really bad and the premises is noisy. No lift makes it difficult with suitcases and Wifi only works in the foyer, which isn't that convenient.
Our room (Room nr 4) had 2 balconies. one that faced the canal and one that faced the street. the room had been painted recently and re-tiled - it is brand new. enough space; large windows; clean bedding. Bathroom is new and spacious. had a wonderfull stay. the breakfast (coffee and briosch)that is included with the booking was collected from the bar right below the room. very friendly Chinese staff in the bar and the briosch was fresh every day. we were pleasantly surprised!
The hairdrier is not hot enough and needs more air.
I felt hotel marte was well beyond our expectations, we had a fabulous ensuite room with views of the canal and beautifully decorated which was perfect! The staff were soo friendly and inviting in the hotel and made our stay perfect. We had our own private key and felt safe. Excellent location and would definetly return!!
The only snags were the breakfast was limited to pastries and tea and coffee. I unfortunately have an intolerance to pastries so had to pass on breakfast. The women providing the breakfast were rude but i dont think they are employed by the hotel. The only other thing was it got quite loud at night as you are on a main street but this was fine as we wanted the canal view! Overall i didnt want to leave as it was sooo good!
We liked the location and nice big room.
Long staircase at hotel marte. Older people need to be aware that there is a long staircase up which bags have to be carried. There is a warning that there is no lift but people need to be aware of the large number of stairs as well so they get the option of going across to Biaisin like we did. Internet is inconsistent in Biaisin.
Nice location on the canal Near train station. Clean room. Room good size.
No Elevator Poor internet connection in room. No refrig Couldn't use safe
