I booked a room at this hotel after a sudden change in my travel plans. The checking-in experience was pleasant and courteous, and it was advertised accurately on booking.com.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel looked great and was spotless. Breakfast was also very good. Although they list location as an advantage, you are really not very close to the City center. It is at least a 15-20 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain or Spanish steps, and at least another 10 minutes or more to the other major sites. This is normally not that bad, but if you're staying for several days, that is quite a bit of time (and energy) you waste on simply walking to the sites. We must say that there is a metro stop a couple of blocks away, and the rail terminal is very close. You do have that option for getting around.

Hotel is very stylish with attentive staff in a good location for sight seeing in Roma. The access to our room was extremely tiresome approx 20 stairs to climb after lift to fifth floor. Not easy with suitcases either. Our room 508 was big enough for bed only with no room to move about at all including tiny bathroom. Breakfast was pleasant experience before tackling the crowds and heat of Roma at this time of year Again size of room was a joke I advise anyone checking in to inspect room first for size, accessibility and potential view

Great location and within easy walking distance of the main sites. All staff very friendly and helpful recommending various ways to get the most from the stay. They also recommended a local restaurant which was one of the best I've been to in Rome. I agree with a previous comment in a review that the triple room was really a double with an additional bed (sofa bed) made up but this was fine. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

the location was great for access to the metro train system and key sites of interest. the concierge at the Mascagni was most unhelpful. For example, he provided information only for sightseeing tours or restaurant suggestions that he appeared to have some relationship (and I suspect some arrangement) with. We were able to find suitable alternatives on the internet which he had not mentioned. He was dismissive of us most of the time. A major drawback of this hotel is the complete lack of powerpoints in the hotel rooms (for charging phone etc), We urgently needed to do this because of contacting a sick relative at home, and the concierge staff would not assist us at all and in fact were extremely rude to us. I would never ever stay there again, and would never recommend the hotel to anyone who asked me.

The hotel is close to train station, at least 10 minutes walk with luggage. The area is very lovely with most tourist attractions within reasonable walking distance and the bus service is very regular, but extremely packed - standing room only. We booked 3 rooms for our family of 6 and this was adequate, not spacious but enough for 2 people to move around. Free internet in the rooms, though very slow, faster connection on the floor lobby area. The buffet breakfast was wonderful and the head waiter was friendly and funny - spoke extremely good english and made up our table of 6 every morning. On our last day he made muffins for us and they were delish. The hotel lift is extremely small - 2 people with 1 piece of luggage only and very slow to go to 6 levels only.

The staff were all lovely. We were pleasantly surprised with our room and bathroom, they were both clean and modern and perfect for our needs. There is a lovely little bar on the ground floor and the resturant is on level one, so breakfast was always great. Location was close to shopping and not far to all the local tourist sites. The only thing that was not to our taste was that the bed was quite hard, we soon got used to it and wore ourselves out seeing the sites of Rome during the day and weren't too worried about it.

We loved the rooms and facilities which were kept sparkling clean. We also enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts. The Mascagni Hotel is in a very central location making it easy for foreign tourists like ourselves, to return to our base in between sight seeing, shopping etc. The hotel staff deserve special mention as they were very helpful and friendly at all times. It is a shame that such a fine hotel does not have free and reliable Internet access.
