Strategically located Nice atmosphere
Well situated, good breakfast, quiet but friendly staff.
Bare bed quite hard and despite recent rennovation a few fittings needed mending in the bathroom.
Brilliant location- a bit on a side, far from traffic noise, yet really close to the heart of Ortigia (max. 5 mins walk). Really friendly and helpful staff (we got a map of Ortigia on our arrival), and they speak English-which isn't really too common in Sicily. They're honest too- when I left my phone in the dining room, they kept it at the reception for me. Very nice food, good choice of products for breakfast, we ate in a nice atmosphere, talking to other hotel guests we found out that they come back to that hotel every year! Spacious room with comfortable bed, you can have a nice sleep as it's really quiet. Air conditioning that you can manipulate the way you want/need. A little fridge with drinks FOR FREE (we were shocked that we didn't have to pay for them in a 3* hotel as they were already included in the price of the room!). Furthermore the fridge was turned on at all times as rooms are being locked using a standard key and not a modern card, which manipulates the electricity, and we thought that was great as we could drink something cold after being out all (hot) day long. A little balcony where it's really lovely to have a cup of coffee in the first morning sun rays, while watching local people and the sea... A toilet and shower that we had no problems with/complaints about. There's also a TV in the room as well as even a tablet that can be used when you need to use the free wifi internet connection and don't have your own electronic devices. In our opinion it's a hotel that should not only have 3 stars but also a biiiig plus or even just 4 stars :-) We've stayed in a 4star hotel in Ragusa and I must say there's nothing that wouldn't make hotel Mastrarua deserve 4 stars :-) Ekstra położenie- nie w zgiełku, lekko na uboczu, a jednak bliziutko do samego serca Ortygii (maks. 5 min pieszo).
No hotel car park. We parked our car at the car park nearby (there're 2 big car parks about 100m away from the hotel, both pay&display). You have to pay attention to where you leave your car as the police tow cars all the time in there. Brak parkingu należącego do hotelu. Zaparkowaliśmy na pobliskim parkingu (są dwa duże parkingi w promieniu ok. 100m- oba płatne). Trzeba uważać z parkowaniem w odpowiednim miejscu, bo policja non stop holowała tam auta.
The hotel has many rooms but it does not feel extra busy and crowded. Our room was crowded and had a lot of space and opened to the inside. The location is good and the staff helpful. The bathroom had everything needed. Breakfast was included and fine but in general free breakfasts in many parts of Europe are starting to cut corners to save money. Less dress fruit, packaged items, etc. I would recommend this hotel for the price and the location is within walking distance of everything on the island and in the city.
In front of the hotel gate there is a drain cover. When a car passes through it, provides a sound, you could not sleep well.
It is close to everything. Nice place. It was clean and clear. We liked everything. We asked for an extra bed for a baby, it had a nice comfortable mattress. Really good breakfast.
Our room was close to a breakfast room, that's why it was a bit noisy after 8 a.m., because of the baby we slept till 9.30 a.m.
The hotel is in a great location. The staff could not have been more helpful. Absolutely lovely, nothing was too much trouble. I wanted to also say thank you to Serena who serves breakfast. Always so polite and always with a smile on her face. My single room was very small and not so nice, but very clean and quiet which suited me in the end as I wasn't spending much time in the hotel anyway. The breakfast was very nice. There are a few bikes freely available at reception. i thought that was a really nice gesture. attached to the hotel is a private chapel which I managed to see as the door was opened. it is absolutely beautiful. Now and then, you could see the nuns in the background. I am not religious but I did like it and I also liked the nice little saying they had left on the bed. Lovely, i will come back.
some of the single rooms are very small (mine was) - but service excellent and price was good.
Big comfortable room Lovely bathroom Location for Ortygia Breakfast
Stairs carrying cases
Easy parking Nicely located in the Ortigia Large room
After 20:00 the B&b is closed. 10 euro extra to get the key delivered. Hence 18 euro to pay extra at check out, including the high tourist taxes (2 eur x person x night) Room was smelling bad Our room was under the breakfast room. You won't be able to sleep because of the noise of the chairs moved on the floor Wifi did not work due technical problems
Location good , parking close by, hotel provided a tablet and free wi-fi for guest use, breakfast ok, poor coffee
Difficult to find , parking close by but 10euro for 24 hours
Proximity to the centre of Ortigia Quiet room Very friendly staff Near to local market
Location was very good, despite a not very flattering view on 'Streetview'. The staff were very helpful with explaining where to park without getting a ticket, and also with recommendations on restaurants.
Would be nice to have a picture or photograph or two on the bedroom walls.
Is a communicate window between the room and the bathroom.Very strange...
All of the Syracuse old town is in 30min walk max. Very near.
breakfast was really limited
I stayed with my wife at the hotel, I liked the location in the historic place, clean room, plenty of towels, delicious breakfast and lovely staff)
Sympatic owners. Big room, quite good breakfast
terraces of the last floor rooms
Reasonably large rooms Quiet Location Recently renovated Close to secure parking
Immediate environment run down (but safe) No lift
Our frinds' room was nice, with a balcony. Light and airy. Nice breakfast.
Our room was like a bunker. Very dark, windows with view onto a very shabby backyard. Big difference between the rooms. Reception staff disinterested and did only a minimum of what was needed. Area a little bit dodgy at first glance, but only a few minutes walk into the centre of Ortigia. Wi-fi didn't work.
Staff was very friendly and helpful with bus timings etc. I even did the online check in for the flight on their computer. Breakfast was good (eggs, yoghurt, fruits, bread, cheese, prosciutto cotto, cake, croissants, tee, coffee, hot chocolatte etc.) The rooms were friendly, quite, bright and clean. The location is in Ortigia, the most beautiful part of Siracusa.
Nice small boutique hotel; good sized rooms and very clean. Owner was very helpful filling us in on what to do and where the good restaurants were.
Wifi not available in the room (I believe the router for our floor had been just stolen); we had to sit in unair-conditioned common area - very hot - not a big deal.
Great location near the city center. Breakfast is served in a cafeteria nearby. Public parking in front of the B&B.
Rooms basic but confortable.
Staff were excellent
It was very quiet for sleeping. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The wi-fi didn't work very well at all. The shower was dirty when we arrived. I asked the staff to clean it, but I wasn't satisfied with their cleaning. They did clean the soap dish which was scummy before, but the taps and shower head are covered with calcium buildup which they didn't clean off and it still seemed pretty disgusting to me. There are products to remove calcium.
Location and help with parking.
Ran out of breakfast.
