Matisee B&B was in a very conventient location to all the major sights in Rome. Roberto our host was great helping us bring up our bags and letting us leave our bags in the B&B as we arrived early in the day. Roberto also arranged our transfers back to the airport for us. I would recommend this B&B for anyone who was looking for low cost accommodation in Rome. The bathroom wasn't attached to our room. It became very stuffy after a warm shower & also contained a bit of mould due to poor ventilation.

The room was large and very clean. The common sitting area was very eclectic and interesting. The kitchen was self serve and open 24/7. This came in handy a couple times. They had the typical B&B breads, cereal, yogurt available. They also had internet in the room which we realized during our trip was a huge plus. Our room #5 was separated from it's shower and toilet. These were both on opposite sides of the common area. If an add says private bath it doesn't necessarily mean in the room. It was our bathroom, but we had to go down the hall to use it.

Very clean, safe place, centrally located. Breakfast nothing special but enough (croissants, juice, coffee, tea, cheese, ham, toasts). The staff does not know size of tax. Street was noisy all night and staff was noisy at evening.

We were transferred to Matisse Cavour. 3P bedroom with private bathroom in the room. Great location for the Colosseum and forum Romanum, bus stop in front of the B&B. Bathroom was nice. Breakfast nothing special but available all day, so you could make a cup of tea in the afternoon if you like. 3Rd bed in the room was a dissapointment. Street was noisy all night, but if you're tired from sightseeing you'll sleep anyway.

The location is near the train station and the shopping areas, with walking distance to the Colosseum and Forum. The owner is super kind, I spent over 20 days travel around Europe with heavy baggage, only this guy came out and help my wife to bring the luggage upstairs. I like to thanks him also that thoughtful enough to inform me how to get to the hotel in advance. The room are clean and comfortable, all you can eat breakfast. He did the samething to offer his help to bring down all our luggages to the taxi. Thank you again Roberto!

The romance of the building... The funny lady at the desk as you come in and the trust given to people staying.. Roberto was great and friendly..a typical laid back Italian Man.. Breakfast available 24 hours a day..Location fabulous for touring ancient Rome.. Termini within walking distance... Will definitely be back The bathroom being located outside of the room was fine..it's so close and everything is safe. The only issue being that there is no window and the drains can be a bit pongy at times!. Air freshener a God send.

Close to Roma Termini The hotel manager is sleezy, asked to many indiscreet questions and was pushy. We were transferred to a sister hotel for one night and the other staff there was no better - asking questions about where we lived, where we were going, why we had so much luggage. Really made us feel like they would snoop in our rooms the minute we were out. I wouldn't stay there again.

When we arrived at Matisse we were invidid to take a looke at the other location from Matisse at the via Cavour. That was for us a perfect place; nice staff and very close to the city-centre. The neighbourhood is crouded but friendly and stimulating. The breakfast was fine but very Italian (so don't expect to much). The room spacious and clean. The inner-garden gave a possibility for smokers to satisfy their needs without leaving the appartment. We loved our stay at Matisse. Linda and Arjan

When we read the reviews of fellow travelers on trip advisor the possible transfer to another venue, we were initially sceptical. We arrived at Matisse b and luckily for us, we were not transferred. We were received by another fella called Tonino (this might not be the spelling of his name but it was how we heard it) and he was very helpful in helping us search for trinethalia train tickets over the computer and offered advice on how to proceed. Breakfast comprised of croissants, cereal and spreads and milk, tea and coffee - a good start to the morning. The living room (a common area) was cozily furnished. It was a convenient location from the areas of attraction. Place was really clean and tidy. Room was spacious. Very near the train station. Hot water for shower was inconsistent. Sometimes we had it sometimes we didn'T. Once my friend tried to run the water and got ticked off by the owner. He said the other hotel guests needed hot water. But we needed hot water to shower too in winter? We had an external private bathroom outside the door. Shower area was really small. Had to climb up a flight of stairs. If you have heavy and big bags you might want to reconsider.

Great location and Roberto was a great host. We were able to walk to most locations and were also just a block from a metro station giving access to the rest of the city. It isn't cozy. We stayed in an adjacent building, which was fine, but don't expect a well lit staffed lobby and a cozy well decorated room. The Matisse has budget prices and it reflects that.
