Location, helpful staff, lots of room
Beds were a bit springy
Separate bathroom outside room, not being able to find or speak to manager
everything,,,it was very clean,,people were very friendly,,the owner providede us with very useful information ,,it was the perfect place to be
nice location, near to subway & bus stop, but still quiet with the window closed; 24-hour kitchen.
not so much to complain with this rate.
A wonderful place for a great price, in the center of Rome, close to everything. Clean large rooms, bathrooms outside the room , but it's not a problem, a cozy living room, friendly host.
? Owner Roberto
cozy and big bed, AC is very silent, nice location
The main concern for us siblings was the location and Matisse is wasily accessible from the train station (ard 15mins walk) and the city center (a bus ride away) to all the major landmarks. One of the better bed and breakfast I've stayed at, it is very cosy and the owner is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was in the form of cereal, toast and croissant with compliments like milk, juice, cheese and coffee and tea. We stayed in a triple room and had a private bathroom to ourselves. Wifi is however only available in the lounge area even though our room was pretty close to it, we couldn't get the connection. All in all, for it's location near Roma centrale station and affordable price range, it is an excellent hotel to stay in even though you may have to climb up 3 flights of stairs. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends in future. One thing to note: the "security" lady in the lobby is pretty nasty, so try not to get in her way.
Wifi signal wasn't strong in room. And there wasn't a hair dryer in the toilet that we were given but we'd seen another with one.
Mr. Roberto was awesome! He made everything easy even with our schedules. He was very helpful and always ready to serve and help the best way he can. The place wasn't easy for mom but he made it easy for her with his hospitality and sense of humor. I even call him for about anything we need to know.
Kitchen needs more organization :)
Roberto greeted us and helped us map out our trip and determine how to get to all of the major sites. The location was convenient for walking to most of the sites we wanted to see, and the Vatican was a close metro ride. Access to the metro and train station was convenient. The room was clean and they kept the kitchen stocked with yogurts and cereal throughout the day.
The street that the B&B is located on is extremely busy and touristy, but this also makes it convenient. The bed was a bit hard but overall fine.
Great location. Walking distance to most major attractions. Tea and coffee and some food available 24/7. Two layers of double glazing made the room, which faced the main road, very quiet. Good wi-fi.
The photos on the website were misleading. I don't know where the sumptuous rooms were and we weren't shown any lovely outdoor area. To get to the rooms you went up a very scuffed and unwelcoming flight of stairs. The breakfast consisted of pre-packaged croissants and pastries, long life bread (use by was months away!!) butter, jams, yoghurt, cheap cereals, milk and very ordinary tea and coffee - all was self serve and the crockery, some plastic and much of the china chipped, was very poor. The 'dining' area had basic furniture and was not welcoming at all. Our room was so narrow my husband could easily touch the walls and so the bed would have been a small double at best. The bedhead was very ricketty. There was no TV - it was not obvious from the website that there wasn't one although it didn't say there was. We know that rooms in Rome get a premium price but were very disappointed in Matisse as compared to the other places we had stayed in Italy. In the other accommodation the rooms were large and well appointed and you got a fresh breakfast in pleasant surroundings. I would not recommend this establishment unless the rates were vastly lower - hostel prices which this basically was.
Appartments at very good location
Excelent location very close to many places of interest and to the termini station. The breakfast is included, and you can have any time in the day.
A problem is to get up to the rooms, there is no elevator, it is uncomfortable if you are traveling with a lot of lugage.
For two people traveling, it definitely met our needs. The location was great and we felt very safe. The breakfast area met our needs as well.
The owner was available on phone, and also met us when we arrived. We were offered taxi to pick us up There was internet available in the hotel area.
No TV on room
Room size, no elevator, no reception desk and break fast is juts coffee, bread and butter/cheese.
Brilliant shower Tastefully decorated classical building. Generous and expansive breakfast. Helpful host. Great location. Comfortable in every way
Roberto, the owner, is very committed. He is passionate about it and does his best. Although he may need to listen a bit more.
A TV would be helpful for the travellers to feel a bit of the local options and news.
internet connection very poor
Huge rooms and good facilities
promixity to everything
no t.v. in room...but anyway not a grevious problem
Lovely b&b in the centre of rome and close to the train station.
