The hotel offers a continental buffet breakfast from 8 until 10 o’clock, served in the breakfast room decorated with a beautiful painting collection.

It consists of: warm and cold beverages, like freshly made coffees, fresh milk, teas and chocolate, as well as orange and pineapple fruit juice; fresh croissants and brioches, fresh bread rolls (white and whole flour bread), biscuits, cereals (corn flakes, muesli, coco pops), fresh kiwis, syrup fruit salad, cheese, plain and fruit yogurt, butter, jam, chocolate spread cream, honey.

The Maxim has 26 rooms: Single, Double, Triple and Quadruple rooms.

All the rooms feature private bathroom either with shower or bath.

The rooms are bright, with double glazed windows to block out street noise.

the vacinity to everywhere we went. It was great. It had air conditioning. Free internet access.

when you arrive the owner, Mr Berti is there to welcome you. When you have your breakfast, Mr Berti is there to make your chocolate. When you arrive at 11:30 pm?? yes, he is there. Mr Berti makes the difference. Plus it is very close to the Basilica.

The location.

The description of the bathroom was not detailed enough. There was no shower stall-- when I showered the water and soap suds would fill the entire bathroom floor and there was nothing that separated the shower from the rest of the bathroom. Also there was a 1:00am curfew. The reception was not opened 24 hours.

The location was very central and all the tourist sites were within short walking distance. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. Internet access was available free of charge to guests.

The location was excellent for exploring the old city of Florence. The rooms were simple, very clean (very important to me!) plus the service - frontline staff, breakfast, housekeeper- was friendly and good. At this hotel I especially liked the funky decor, high ceilings and interesting use of this very old building.

For some travellers the close proximity to the early morning church bells might be a problem.
