Well located. Everything was perfect
delicious breakfast spacious and comfortable rooms friendly, sympathetic staff free wifi good location we will recommend it to our friends:) really nice place
This is a great hotel. Quiet, good bed, the staff was helpful. They listened patiently to my attempt at Italian, and then politely switched to English. Good food within easy reach, and a small bakery right across the street.
It was a bit tiresome to type in the long password for the Internet every time you wanted to re-connect.
convenient location, friendly staff, good breakfast selection, quiet room
shamefully bad coffee for an Italian hotel… Internet code annoyingly long but besides that connection worked well
the breakfast, location and price.
There is not a single parking space nearby the hotel. There is a private garage in front of the hotel, which is a little bit expensive. An old hotel that was renewed, although you can still see that it is not new.
Great location in the heart of Palermo, a few blocks from a strip of nice restaurants, parking was available just across the street for cheap, excellent staff, excellent facilities.
The city of Palermo itself is a little grungy and not as prepped for tourists as say Rome or Paris. Nothing to complain about the hotel.
Nice localozation very close from port and main streets and important place to visit. Brekfast is good and they start to serve it from 6:30 am
Superb bed, very close to where we needed to be; excellent, helpful staff (helped me rent a car on very short notice); excellent breakfast (quality, quantity, variety) - Canoli!; fast wi-fi; spacious room (3 person)
Nothing comes to mind...great stay, not long enough.
Clean Comfortable Very nice bathrooms
The fan was a bit noisy at night necessary because of the heat
staff are trying to help the breakfast is nice location is central
small rooms air condition is not working in room no facilities no water/tea or coffee in rooms
Good location close to shopping and dining. Short walk (~10-15 min) to some of the must see sights and ~15-20 min walk to the port. Close to Politeama where the airport shuttle stops and busses depart for Mondello. Close to the minimarket on Via Francesco Bentivegna. Helpful staff although limited English skills. Free maps at the front desk.
Typical Italian breakfast, ok but no more than that. Skip the coffee with milk powder and dreary pastries and go to a café instead for the real deal! Wi-Fi was free but barely worked in the rooms but computers were available in the lobby.
Good location as it is possible to explore the city's main attractions by walk. Good comfortable staying (but nothing special as it is always the case with chain hotels), excellent wifi and very friendly staff always ready to help.
Some days there were queues for breakfast as there were not enough tables for everyone.
Service of an excellent quality for a very reasonable price !
We were very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and their helpfulness.
Can be more fruits and some chenges in the breakfast.
The food on the menu not good and fresh
The location is really good. We really enjoyed the breakfast, the canolli is amazing! The rooms are nice and modern, with exceptionally nice bathrooms. Staff is helpful and speaks good enough english. The bar is also nice and has Aperol, which in my experience not a lot of places had in this area.
The air-conditioner was extremely noisy and pretty weak for my standards. We stayed at the 8th floor and the only view we had was the stairs, which was rather disappointing. The TV is small and has no movies on demand until September which was really upsetting for us as we don't speak italian and stayed 4 nights. The hotel offers parking for 14 euros, while parking on the streets is 75 cent/hour , so overall 7.5 euros considering you only have to park from 8-12 and then from 2-8z The parking is a huge issue in this city anyway, with only a few parking machines. The hotel only had 2 parking tickets for their parking zone (P3) so we constantly had to search for tabacchi shops, which were either closed or out of tickets. I must say this really made our stay a nightmare! The wifi is very poor once you leave the lobby, on our floor we had to open the rooms door to even be able to sign in. You lose the wifi every 15-20 minutes if you don't use it and have to sign in all over again with an extremely long and complicated username and password.
I would definitely suggest mercure hotel since you definitely need to find a good and secure place in Palermo. Mercure was a very good choice for us.
very clean, modern and comfortable with a full range of amenities. The staff were really helpful and the breakfast was the best I have had in Sicily. It was definitely one of the most modern hotels that I have found in the whole of Sicily.
The hotel is well situated in the center of Palermo. The inside is elegant and comfortable and the breakfast buffet is very good
We have two stays in this hotel: we spent one night, then we went to another cities in Sicily and then spent another two nights before coming back home. So, for the first time they gave us a very comfortable, spacious room with a large balcony. The air conditioning worked well and in general we were quite happy about our stay. Except one thing: the sink was clogged and water didn´t go out well. B In general location is excellent, the breakfast is good (although it´s a bit repetitive but for short stays it´s OK), the WiFi signal isn´t excellent but acceptable. But it was very annoying to log in again every time after your phone/Ipad went to a sleep mode.
ut for the second part of our stay they gave us smaller room, in the last floor, without balcony and air conditioning almost didn´t work. Well, it wasn´t a 4 stars hotel….
The hotel is really nice, very well decorated, the room was amazing, very big, with a big big bathroom, I've been in some hotels, where the hole room was smaller than this bathroom. The hotel has a big influence in the positiveness of your holidays, and this one here didn't disappoint! Great breakfast with some local products, room was amazingly comfortable, central location, near the main street. Really enjoyed it!
The only big NEGATIVE thing about this hotel was the internet connection (Wi-fi), I can understand, because the hotel is situated on the city centre, and they must protect "their" internet, otherwise everyone around could use it...the only problem is, they use a code, that change sometime without previous notice; but the real problem is, you won't have internet connection in your room. It will identify and have a great wi-fi signal, but it only works if you go to the entrance of the hotel, which is beautiful, but in my case, I didn't want to go out of the room to have something that should work in there, and it wasn't my computer problem because I've tried with 2 computers, 2 phones and 1 tablet...everything the same. Which again, in my case was a real problem because I had a job to deliver on-line and I couldn't finish it properly because of this inconvenient.
- Large balcony - Great breakfast - Nice staff - Huge bathroom - Spotless clean
- The garage is not actually the hotel's but it is just accross the street, costs 14 euro/day but get prepared that you must leave the car keys which I realised is fairly common place in Italy
Location is great for bus stop. 20 min nice walking to train station. It is great that you can take a bus for 1 Euro to great beach called Mopolo ( hope this is correct name ) in 30 min.
Palermo was a little scary for me. i actually did not feel safe. people are not similing. streets are not so crowded.
Location, staff, and breakfast were good. It was clean and neat. We lost our baggage at the airport and the staff were helpful to communicate people to find it. If I came Palermo again, my choice would be again Mercure...
