Normally the hotel reception in general check you in first then they give you the room's key. This time the gentleman at reception asked me for my passport as usual, okay, I gave him, he said my name, it was all paid off for the period booked. Then what the sadden he gave me back the map, some leaflet explaining the gondola canal crossing, wifi, and I didn't realise my passport was not returned with, immediately he asked to follow him as he would show me the room and so I did. However, when I went to unpack my luggage I realised my passport wasn't there. I didn't find it. I went straight back to ask him then he just said he needed to register me. I found that strange and so that was the only thing I didn't like. Register me first, give my passport back, then can show me the room, give maps, explain the breakfast time, etc... What if he just have turned and said, "sorry you didn't give any passport!" There was no queue, no one was waiting, he had plenty of time to register me first before show the room, specially because my passport has been left unattended on the reception balcony.
I have liked everything, cleanlines, staff were helpful, breakfast was good, and transport and location just the right distance.
