Starhotels Metropole  

I filled out the form in my room yesterday morning which gives you all of this information and left it at reception.I Stayed in the same hotel 9/10 years ago in mid-november.I Was recouperating after a very serious illness.I Was very impressed with the location of the hotel and courtesy shown to me by your staff.But what particularly impressed me was that when I was leaving I filled out the card left in my room and I mentioned in passing that the window in my room was a little faulty.Up to that time I had been on many holidays in many countries and I had filled out many such forms.This was the only occasion I got a reply.It informed me the window had been repaired and apologised for any inconvenience caused. To say that I was surprised would be an understatement.On the day after I arrived this time I mentioned that the air-conditioning was faulty and once again it was very quickly repaired.I Have recommended your hotel many friends over the years and will continue to do so

Housekeeping: very well done, beds changed every day. Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Location ideal for eating out. Some fine restaurants just minutes away. Walking distance from some of the major sights. Good breakfast.

The hotel staff were very interested in our comfort and well being. The room was great. The dining service was excellent. Improvement in breakfast offering would be a big move to a 5 star rating.

Paying for Wi-Fi access. The cost of the room alone should have covered this service. Adding additional fees, though minor in cost, is an annoyance.

It was a lovely bar but the prices were too expensive even for rome

We were upgraded to a suite which was luxurious. The hotel looks modern, new and clean. The location is great, close to the train station and within walking distance of most major attractions.

Limited internet access. Water supply to the whole hotel was cut off for a few hours during our stay which was unpleasant but I presumed it was an unususal occurance

Wi-fi just in lobby and for 30 min

High price and taking the money in advance. It's not true that they make just reservation for the money. No, they take in advance money from the credit card. If you wish to pay cash upon leaving, they will cancel this so called "money reservation" from the credit card. But after that i have to wait appr. 2 weeks. my bank to return me the money in my bank account. In booking.com for this reservation was written "no pre-payment needed". But 1 day before arrival at the hotel, i received a massage from my bank, that money were collected from my credit card. This is discrepancy between information and actual.

The hotel in general is old, the AC was not working beacuse it was spring (really, thats what weve been told)

Only the location

A pricey hotel with little concern for travellers' needs. Located near Termini station, costing a lot, tv plays only Italian language channels, plastic disposable drinking cups in the rooms and smoking smell in non-smoking rooms - that's Metropole One is likely to wake-up by rumble of metro passing underneath.

Good location,good rooms but not all, good stuffs

When we came the room that was given to' us didnt meet our expectations: 8th foor, very very cold ( we switched off the conditioner but it didnt help us), the chambermaid didnt put enought shower facilities ( shower cap, shampoo,sleepers,dressin gown), the ceiling in the bathroom was awful with holes ( we could see al the cables- in sum the room was very very old and we couldnt sleep at all. They agreed to change the room only for the next day due to' the fact they were full. So the 1st night we had to try to sleep in such bad conditions! Breakfast is very poor , the same every day. The chambermaid on the 1st floor didnt put all the bath facilities (shampoo,showercap and etc.) for 2 people,only for one person during 3 days , may be' she was collecting them for herself.

It was excelent holiday. Thanks to the hotel for our comfortable, exquisit, tasty stay in Rome!
