Hotel Milan Speranza Au Lac    

Excellent location by the Lago di Maggiore. Great staff, very helpful and cheery. Room with lake view was excellent. Nice breakfast, free parking etc. A bit overpriced but worth the shot.

I wish the double bed had been in one piece, not two beds next to each other. Not very couple-friendly ;)

Beautiful view over Lake Como. The hotel room was well appointed and had a spectacular view up and down the Lake. The food and staff in the restaurant were of a high standard and very helpful. Front desk staff even drove us around when it started to rain. Room 13,14 &15 have the best views and a balcony to watch the boats from.

Didn't like that we had to leave.

Stresa is a perfect place to relax and enjoy your surroundings and the Hotel Milan Speranza Ue Lac is a great place to do it. It is a good place to do day trips to the Matterhorn, other lakes and Milan.

The staff were excellent - I have never been to a hotel where the breakfast staff were so friendly, helpful and happy. The reception staff also very helpful. Location was fabulous.

The church bell tower behind the hotel rings at 8am!! Not too bad though.

This was probably my favourite hotel. It was so picture perfect, as is all of Stresa. Room was lovely and bathroom was great. You couldnt have gotten a better outlook. Will definately be visiting Stresa again and will probably stay at this hotel.

Really central convenient for ferries, buses, restaurants, bars and lake maggiore promenade. Excellent staff who were really courteous and attentive. Really nice bathroom, towels, shampoos etc. our room had a small balcony and a fantastic lake and mountain view which we paid a well worth supplement for. Comfortable bed and furnishings. We had a look at other open rooms on our floor and they were all nice. Breakfast was as much as you like continental buffet with good quality food. We had breakfast in the covered sun terrace. Although the Milan didn't have a pool use of the pool and gardens at the Regina Palace, a couple of minutes walk away, was available. This was set in nice gardens with changing rooms, showers and towels supplied.

Poor internet facilities. Swisscom network was down more than 50% of the time that we needed it. From my previous experience they never care to response the calls. Absolutely unsuitable for any business trip...

A two stars hotel: dirty, old, smelly, decaying. Breakfast poor and of low quality. Absolutely not recommended.

I had a wonderful time at your hotel. The front desk lady was wonderful, cheery, and very helpful. Your location was perfect for travel and relaxation. I certainly will stay with you if I return to Stresa!

Central position lounge areas relaxing

When we arrived we were given a room on 5th floor with no balcony and as we had booked a room with lake view with balcony I took this up with receptionist who informed me that a reservation did not guarantee a balcony after being in the room for a short time and unpacked another receptionist came and told us that a room was available on third floor which was perfect. She was most helpful and friendly. Difficult to find someone to serve drinks at the bar had to sit there till someone saw you .

Classically finished decor in all areas, comfort and location.

Its actually 2 hotels side by side. All photos on Booking.com are of the one hotel, which is misleading, as I was put in the other. However was very pleased with where I was anyway. No free Wi-fi in a modern holiday resort location not expected.

The location just across the lake is definitely a plus.

The facilities are somehow outdated and the "double bed" was again two beds next to each-other. I hate when this is the case!

Friendly staff-great location for ferries,restaurants,bars and shops. Arrangements for use of swimming pool and parking at Regina Palace was very helpful. The weather was very hot and swimming/sunbathing was very needed. Rooms were intimate but we had a small balcony and lake view.

Breakfast room was sombre despite every effort made by friendly Restaurant manager who sang at breakfast.They should switch restaurant with unused lounge to the rear of the lobby.I Am a hotelier and the current restaurant is in a function room with no windows.The empty lounge has windows to the adjacent walkways and could open up to outside dining.

Fabulous location across the road from the lake and the boats taking you to the islands. Hotel quite old but nice, clean and good breakfast and friendly staff. No fridge in the room was a drawback. We stayed in room 446 which had a wonderful lak and mountain view from the bed!

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. everything is very clean and they also give a very good breakfast. I asked for a room overlooking the lake and they gave me a side view of the lake but otherwise everything excellent

It is well situated and overlooks the lake.

The lifts made a thumping noise when they stopped which was audable in our room. Not a big problem but slightly annoying.

We had a room on the 5th floor which was very comfortable and with a fantastic view over Lago Maggiore towards Isola Madre & Pallanzo with the Swiss & Italian snow covered Alps as the backdrop. The room was well appointed and furnished with lovely antiques. The bed was comfortable enough but the older style spring type. The pillows were quite soft (as they seem to be everywhere in Europe) but extras were happily provided when we asked for them. Our room was a corner room with quite a good sized balcony with chairs and table so we were able to sit, relax and enjoy our breathtaking view. The breakfast was ample and service was excellent. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be right on the waterfront with fabulous views in this lovely, sleepy little town that has so much to see and do.

The beds could be replaced with firmer more contemporary ones. A choice of firmer pillows would be good. A small fridge in the room would be handy.
